The Year Of The Fox

Starting To Wonder About Donny

Recommended Posts

The Carlsberg is absolutely doggo. And to get a pint of Singha it's £5.60 which is shocking. One bloke the other week was like "bottle of Singha please" they pour it in a pint glass and it comes up to half way "where's the rest of my pint?" I had to laugh.

The Singha is quite nice though to be fair. I don't think I've tasted Carlsberg anywhere near as awful as theirs before in my life

How long do you think setting up a stage and doing a half decent sound check would take then mate?

For a band like Kasabian it'd be a long prep that's for sure.

Maybe they'll come on pitch and crowd raise alongside an a Capella act?

Saying that, if everything is already prepped it could be dragged out? Or even driven out by a small truck through the stands?

Assuming they've got everything planned and rehearsed with their usual motley crew to help them- an hour?

I don't want to see that useless Italian anywhere near an English stadium again

I know it's annoying how you have to buy two bottles to get a pint though.

What about those two birds away at Birmingham last year before kick off. They deserve another chance!

Wow I had only just forgotten about them, I genuinely thought that it was a joke when I heard them at that game.

I don't remember them. Though we ended up being late after being escorted to the ground from the pubs around about. Some lads at the front set off and the rest of us 200/300 followed, as well as the police. The OB were more than happy following us whilst we marched in the opposite direction of the ground lol.

Must've been walking for a good 45mins it was definitely the longest escort I've been involved in lol

It reminded me of Rodney directing the funeral traffic on OFAH

I remember my dad telling me about someone he knew following a car with Leicester scarves flying out the window down the motorway to an away game once. Not sure where he going he followed this car off the motorway into the town thinking it would lead him to the ground only for it to drive into an housing estate and park on someone's drive.

As much as i like Kasabian, i dont think its right to have a band of any kind for these celebrations. We have a lot of fans who wont like them and it doesnt really seem right watching a band play while we should be invading the pitch anyway

Most of the people football is aimed at (unless you're trying to win a family friendly award like LCFC do) are likely to also like a bit of Kasabian too. In fact I don't know anyone who supports leicester who doesn't like them regardless of age. My 54 year old ex boss is going on the 21st.

If it is true then thank you LCFC for finally aiming something at the main football supporting demographic.

I personally think it will be Wasilewski  taking on all comers to a cage match

Last a minute before being knocked out or tapping out then you get a free season ticket.

Got to admit, it would be something different and special would it not?

I have to agree with Matt. I would say that more lcfc fans at the stadium would not be bothered about Kasabian than those that would. I don't mind them, but I couldn't be bothered to stay after the celebrations to watch them when I've got my 11 and 9 year old with me.

I also agree with those pointing out the stage / soundcheck stuff, but also it's not something they could keep as a surprise until the day. People are planning to go to a football game that ends around 2 o'clock with around 1 hour added for celebrations. Why would the club gamble on thinking that more than a couple of thousand COULD let alone WOULD stay behind with no notice until 5pm?

I would suggest that it's more likely we all get a champions scarf to wave on our seat, along with a placard to hold up. Maybe a pitch song from Sam Bailey and probably a competition for a few tickets to Thailand.

I would say we have absolutely zip chance of Kasabian playing a surprise concert.

Better off having the Carlsberg bottles, they are the big ones and pretty much fill a pint glass. Better than the shite on tap.

How about these?

Thats the band that will be on after Kasabian to get everyone to leave!

Sign me up for some of that!

RE: Kasabian, if they do sound checks and stuff before the day, it won't take long to setup. I think everyone is expecting a massive stage, the fact is its more likely to just be on pitch side,in front of the dugouts if they did anything, which i doubt they will, they'll be there as fans like the rest of us, well, probably in the hospitality seats :)

Got more chance of seeing Kasabian there than Lineker, seeming he'll be working on MOTD.

We cannot hold concerts with people in all parts of the stands, so you can forget some big Kasabian gig. Unless of course you think the club is going to chuck everyone in the top portions of each stand out. At most you'll get an acoustic song or something equally crud.

In fairness to the club, if they left everyone a £20 on your seat before kick off, people would moan that it wasn't £30. They will never please us all, its impossible. The day is about celebrations, I'm there to celebrate with my team and the fans for the full 90 minutes, enjoy the trophy lifting and giving the boys an ovation as they walk round the pitch at the end.

That is what my ticket covers, anything that the club may lay on after that is a bonus. Don't like it, go home - most people leave before the 90mins is up anyways.
