QPR pre-match thread

QPR manager Harry Redknapp had been handed a huge injury boost ahead of Saturday’s trip to Leicester City in the Sky Bet Championship …

HARRY Redknapp could welcome as many as six players back into his QPR squad for Saturday’s trip to promoted Leicester City.

Long-term absentees Andy Johnson and Shaun Wright-Phillips are both in contention following midweek appearances for the R’s EDS team, whilst Clint Hill, Aaron Hughes and Joey Barton are also set to return.

Kevin Doyle, who returned to full training on Monday, could also feature, offering Redknapp a timely boost for the clash against the runaway leaders.

“We’ve got a few back this weekend,” Redknapp told www.qpr.co.uk.

“It’s great to have Kevin back, because it looked like he might be out for the season at one point.

“He’s done remarkably well to get back as quickly as he has and his return will give us another option up front.”

Redknapp added: “Clint should be fit and Aaron is back as well. Joey should be fine too.

“AJ is back and available again. He got a game midweek along with Shaun who is also available.

“They are both important players for us and could yet play a big part for us this season.”

The R’s boss could rest Richard Dunne for the trip to the King Power Stadium, with one eye on Monday’s visit of Watford to W12.

“We have two games this weekend so we will juggle the squad around a bit,” he said.

"Leicester will be tough on Saturday, that goes without saying.

"Leicester will want to win the Championship. They've been top for a long spell. Nigel Pearson will want to win it.”

Looks like city will be playing against 10 men QPR after 48 minutes......If joey Barton gets picked.

Mind you on twitter and in interviews, he does come up with some good points and topics, that some others are afraid

to face.

That should read that we've been handed a huge injury boost!

Just about all of them are old and slow and could get terrorised by our pace, and I doubt could survive our intense pressing for 90 minutes.

Knockaert is giving the impression on Twitter that he's in France, which would obviously mean he's not playing tomorrow. Not sure why mind!

He's in Saint Etienne convincing Hammouma to sign for us

After Burnley's win QPR have to win all their remaining matches and Burnley to get only one point or less from their last three for QPR to get automatic promotion (plus Derby have to fail as well). Unless they get less than four points from their remaining games they can't miss out on the play-offs. So realistically they have little to play for, I expect 'arry to rotate his squad to try to preserve them for the play-offs.

After the last couple of games there are some City players with a point to prove regarding suitability for the Premier League and I hope that'll drive a decent performance.

Joey Barton will have to avoid three more bookings that could see him out of the play-offs, but his manager insists he has to give the midfielder games.

“There’s no reason why he should pick up bookings,†Harry offered, “and he needs games to keep fit.â€

They've got four games left, and they're worried he might get three bookings? It could only be Joey Barton.

They can't catch them.
