DennisNedry Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Selby needs to stay in touch and regroup for tomorrow, otherwise I can see O'Sullivan running away with it. As an aside, is it just me who didn't know that Sully's dad is a murderer? Christ!
One Legged Beaver Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 That plant was just extraordinary, how he saw it was on and then executed it to perfection is beyond me
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Why did he not pot the red! The green was perfect to lay a snooker... unreal Ronnie was always going to start dominating snooker once he got his temperament sorted. He now has no weaknesses to his game, he is beating Selby at his own game today...
DennisNedry Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Selby playing poorly but Ronnie has been very jammy not leaving anything when missing shots.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Selby playing poorly but Ronnie has been very jammy not leaving anything when missing shots. That is what Ronnie has added to his game, he no longer takes unnecessary risks, he is willing to dig in. That makes him a far better player than he was 3-4 years ago.
kingfox Posted 4 May 2014 Author Posted 4 May 2014 That was a big frame. Just three behind now, come on Mark
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Oh boy what a break this is... unstoppable when he is like this...
isaidno Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Pure genius there , what a break. Still fancy Ronnie to get a 147 in the final
Basingstoke Fox Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 What a way to come back from Ronnie. It makes me laugh how there's a guy that sits at the front, every year in his Basingstoke Town FC top. He's like known for being the guy at the snooker with this top on round here.
Salieri Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 If Ronnie had adopted his current mentality a long time ago he would have surpassed Hendry's record comfortably by now. So pleased he is finally doing himself justice, should be recognised as the greatest player ever and beating Hendry's record is important in stamping his place as the best there has been. I love Selby and am convinced he will lift the crown one day but he is up against a man at the peak of his powers (despite not performing as he can in this final, yet). I know it's not over yet but it's gonna take a miracle for Mark to prevail now.
Matt Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Ronnie's turned up, Selby's in trouble I think, think he's just gotta hope for the best tonight then hope he's in some decent form and Ronnie's not tomorrow. How many more frames left tonight?
Salieri Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Ronnie's turned up, Selby's in trouble I think, think he's just gotta hope for the best tonight then hope he's in some decent form and Ronnie's not tomorrow. How many more frames left tonight? 9 frames in this session, so 3 including the current frame.
Jimothy Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Ronnie plays snooker like I do on my iPad game where I have guidelines for each shot!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Unreal stuff , the rocket has hit top gear, absolutely nothing Selby can do about that.
DennisNedry Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Runner up in UK, Masters, World Open and now looking like World Championship too. Poor Mark.
MPH Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Exactly, two masters of the green baize, competing in the most skillful sport. This match up is the pinnacle of sport. But it's still snooker? You can dress it up all you like...Any sport where you have to pay money to sit and keep your gob shut ain't a sport for me. .
kingfox Posted 4 May 2014 Author Posted 4 May 2014 What a great outcome 10-7 would be. Fingers crossed.
Bert Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 What a great outcome 10-7 would be. Fingers crossed. That missed black off the spot to go 4-4 was huge.
Matt Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 What a great outcome 10-7 would be. Fingers crossed. It certainly would, despite having my worries for Selby about 30 mins ago it would be fine at 10-7 and all teeing up for a fantastic final day tomorrow. Just hope he sees this final frame through tonight.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 At 10-7 it isn't over yet, Selby has done what he does best and that is manage to just stay in reach of his opponent despite not playing his best.
Salieri Posted 4 May 2014 Posted 4 May 2014 Fair play Selby hanging in there, sets it up nicely for tomorrow.
