Rocky Dennis Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 May I suggest that (thus far at least) the club has been run very well, I trust them to sort it out. Ian Stringer's conspiracy theories are a little tiresome now!
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Completely agree about the contract situation, they've left it very late. Kaspar is asking for £55k a week though! Ludicrous.
Jace Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Problem is if we want to keep Kasper we are going to have to match anything Arsenal offer him, and wouldn't be surprised if they offered £50000+ a week lets not forget they wouldn't need to pay a transfer fee for him so would still be a very cheap signing
Buzzell Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Completely agree about the contract situation, they've left it very late. Kaspar is asking for £55k a week though! Ludicrous. Where does it say he's asking for £55k a week?

I'd be surprised for a second keeper that's largely unproven at the top level.
lev72 Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Kasper said he wants to stop but its out of his hands and down to the club, iv gotta feeling that his agent will be pushing for more than 30k a week..the so called wage cap
Matt Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Thing is, it is in his hands because we will offer him a contract without doubt, it's whether he accepts or not - which is totally up to him and it has to be what he wants for him to stay which goes without saying, i'm stating the obvious, but to say it's out of his hands it isn't. I think he will stay, I think the lure of first team football is big for him, he'll give it a season with us, should we go back down it'll be time for him to move but think he realises he could get offers from some big clubs but will he get first team football? It's unlikely and he wants (And needs) first team football. It worth staying for a season and then looking where we are.
Jace Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 That's a lot of money. I'd be surprised for a second keeper that's largely unproven at the top level. On a 2 year contract though that would be similar to paying £25000 a week and paying £3 million for a transfer fee which on Arsenals level is responsibly low, well within their affordability
Leicfox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 I hate agents. So does Blackpool's chairman Karl Oyston and look where it's gotten them.

Dan Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Agents are generally scum but there's no obligation to have one. If Kasper wanted to stay that much he'd bin off his agent and sign on for Leicester.
Babylon Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Revealed on the moan in. No contract offer yet. Talks have taken place but nothing concrete yet. Where do people stand on this. For me I actually agree with stringer. We won promotion 6 weeks ago. Surely the at that point the club should have decided what wage and length of deal they wanted to offer. The fact there has been no offer seems a little odd. There is no point in making an offer if you know it will be turned down. Quite clearly there is some distance between what we are offering and what his agent is asking, hence no offer... Yet.
sylofox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 I don't see arsenal have offered anything as they can't talk to him till june 1st. It's agent shite.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 No right minded player would operate without an agent and neither would anyone on this board if they were in the same situation. It's perfectly normal to bring someone on board who specialises in promoting your interests. As for Kasper, he's the same as everyone else on our books. They'll go, but only if a better offer turns up. That was the position twelve months ago and it's the position now, it's just the difference is it's more likely that a better offer will turn up because of the season we've had. No one of note (which I reckon means a club playing in European competition, aside from Hull) comes in for him and he'll sign up for us I reckon.
sylofox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 This is what this whole trip to Thailand is about so they can hold the players at ransom and refuse to let them return until they sign for £1000 a week Too right. Heard a rumour Top has them booked into the Bankok Hilton. Quite clearly there is some distance between what we are offering and what his agent is asking, hence no offer... Yet.What a load of crap. You post a lot of sense on here. But from a business point of view leicester city must know what wage and length they consider good value. 30k for 3 years for example. Make the offer thats the starting point. If kasper wants more cash over same period fine you negotiate. But have a limit. But to not even make an offer in principal is a strange tactic. 6 weeks after knowing which division we will be playing in seems a long time to at least not offer skeletal terms.

You seem to have must the entire point of the post. His agent and the club will currently be discussing the contract, if the agent is saying we want 60k, and the club is saying we are only going to offer 30k, which he would indicate isn't enough. There is no point in the club putting together a written offer if that they know is going to get rejected, informal discussions would not constitute an offer.
st albans fox Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 We can only speculate. Either the two parties are close or miles apart. ( more speculation!) All the other OOC players come into this aswell. The club will want to appear to be playing 'hardball' in order to keep their demands realistic. not sure how we play it to be successful in keeping who we want to keep and not having to pay the 'others' too much to retain the rump of the squad and team spirit that has carried us through this campaign. It could all 'fall apart' as those OOC are entitled to sign elsewhere on june 1st if they get a better offer. are we ok to lose all 8 of them ?

I wouldn't be concerned if none of them sign up so long as Pearson does. Only two of them are starters anyway.
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 May 2014 Posted 6 May 2014 I've always thought Kasper may well leave. And still do. If an offer comes in from what he sees as a 'bigger club', I think he'll go.

But in business you make someone an offer and start any negotiations from that point. It is the quickest way to get someone to show their hand. Kasper himself seemed a little perplexed there had been no offer. I understand what you are saying but it seems bad practice to not have made some sort of offer based on what the club see as reasonable. Even if it is not the final offer. it doesn't have to be a fully drawn up contract it can be an informal offer. I would think this is why lloyds agent is saying talks have broken down with regards to his offer the club must have made it clear it is a 12 month contract or nothing. Seems they are playing a dangerous game with a few of the players. I know it will all get sorted one way or another but having sealed promotion weeks ago you would think they would have made offers in principal.
