Offer to Kasper from Arsenal also Southampton and others interested.

I believe the club is being run too well now, with so many people with such vast experience in the game to even contemplate something as ridiculous  as a wage cap, no matter what that might be.

Furthermore, if they did happen to have one in mind, it would only be a target figure, not written in stone, and would be unknown to anyone.

So you can all forget that piece of stupidity! ( I desperately hope ).

There will be within the club a perception for current and new potential players based on value; that is, purchase price, wage cost, sell-on value with their worth to the team/squad. That is the only way a good club can be run. You do not fit yourself up with a 'straight jacket' called 'wages cap'!

It seems to me that Kasper's agent is trying to 'up the ante' and Nigey babe will either offer the wages Kasper's agent wants for him, or he won't!

From Bentleys self-claimed ITK stevostadium:

One things for certain is that Kasper wont be here next season where I thought he would have had the balls to give it a crack for one season.

It seems the 30K a week wage cap is forcing players (and there agents!) to turn there heads.

That said, dont think he will be sorely missed if we replace him with quality.

The 2 names being increasingly mentioned are Speroni and Forster who i would swap with at the drop of an hat.

If Kasper does move as a 2nd choice keeper to a BIG club it really sums the guys ambition up.

Another one of svens mercenaries it would seem

Nothing said there is really anything that's claiming to be ITK, we all know most of that, he's just claim with it that Kasper is off.

Bentley's Roof certainly has a few people ITK, they have got people in Whelan's office, Top's polo club, Kasper's agents suitcase, access to Pearson's medical records.

With all this flying about you would think they would get the odd football prediction correct.

Lets have a few rounds of "Pearson sign him up" on Saturday when he pulls off some brilliant saves.

It's only Doncaster, he won't need to make any

Think that last sentence sums up just watch a bunch of tools are on that site. If he was such a mercenary, why would he still be here 2 1/2 years later?  :nigel:

So one person uses the term 'mercenary' about Schmeichel and the whole board is a bunch of tools.

Good thing I don't do the same with this board based on your posts.

PS In case you hadn't noticed Schmeichel ran his contract down at Leeds, he's done the same here, if the rumoured 30k a week is true and he leaves for more money plenty on here will be calling him a mercenary.

The problem is, the likes of Kasper and Nugent are already on nearly £30,000 a week and if there's no pay rise for promotion I could see them going elsewhere. To be frank, I couldn't give much of a toss as Schmeichel should realise the ground work he's had to put in at a lower level to get back to the PL and he should bare that in mind for the sake of probably an extra £1 million. Plenty of time for him to squeeze some extra coin in the coming years.

If he goes to a club to earn more money and a no1 spot then so be it. If he goes for the money and to warm a bench then do we really want him? If you can't live and build yourself and your family a future on 30k a week when you've likely got another 10 years playing then you have a problem!!

If I were him I'd get a medium term contract (with clauses) with us, play the season in the PL and see where it goes. Who knows he might get found out and not be good enough! Still I'm not him or his agent there are plenty more keepers out there not worried if he goes.

The bit that makes it all bollox is the bit saying Arsenal have made him an offer.

Untill the season is over they can not make him an offer as that would be an illegal approach.

Yes the overseas sides can but not English clubs.

Sounds like his agent doing overtime.

As he is out of contract at the end of this season, I think he is free to talk to other clubs from Jan 1st this year.

Because he's being paid loads?! I think he'll go, gut feeling. Friend of a friend who works on the social media side of things for LCFC said he's not really 'part of the group' here. He's replaceable but i'd rather he stay. Seems a waste not to from all points of view.

Its a sweeping statement but it certainly wasn't based on just that one comment; I've seen some of the shite they post on there and the huge superiority complex that a large number seem to have which has allowed me to come to that conclusion. Oh, and I didn't say everyone on that site was a tool did I?

I saw some of the stuff you put on there after you posted the Nigel Health story so I don't think you realise that you did exactly that. I'm sure you'll be on there inciting another witch-hunt against FT.

There's no need for name calling; that's just mean

He was 1 year into a 2 year contract at Leeds which isn't exactly running it down. Still, nice to see you being factually astute.

People may call him a mercenary if he goes and that'd be largely wrong but its a little different to describe a player who chooses to leave us with one who has been an ever present for 3 years.

And your point is? He got linked to much bigger clubs and because of his contract situation, the club could have easily been tempted to sell but they took a clear stance that he wasn't going anywhere. Have you heard him talk about Pearson and the club? There's a degree of genuine enthusiasm in his voice. Plus, if you see how frustrated he gets during matches; you'd clearly see he's not a mercenary. I'm not saying that he won't go or that his next move could be money motivated but he's given his all for this club so deserves a bit more respect than he's getting.

Also, people like Drinkwater don't really hang out with the core of the squad and again, he's a player who clearly cares, even if for his own personal gain.

Don't think this has been posted already, some of these odds are scarily short, although the list of clubs is a bit ridiculous:

Arsenal 2/1

Manchester United 6/1

AC Milan 16/1

Stoke City 16/1

Manchester City 16/1

Inter Milan 20/1

Chelsea 20/1

Everton 20/1

Tottenham 20/1

Southampton 20/1

1) Notice how they've quoted Inter as AC Milan were sniffing around in January. It's therefore 'highly logical' to conclude AC and their rivals will both be in for Kasper in the summer. Lazy Journalism. He won't go abroad this early in his career anyway.

2) Notice how the rest of the teams on that list is basically the top half of the premiership. Of course given the abundance of top quality goalkeepers on their books it is again 'highly logical' that all those teams are in for Kasper. I'd be surprised if 2 of them had genuine solid interest. Even taking the weakest side on there Stoke; they have Asmir Begovic, Jack Butland and Carlo Nash on the books. They won't be needing Kasper anytime soon.

3) Conclude as bullshit. Kasper will not have worked for 3 years aiming for premiership football to then leave and risk not being first choice wherever he goes. Let's be fair he's nailed on as first choice here so why risk loosing that in a premiership side. The sooner he signs a new deal and these 'Kasper Leaving' topic threads end the better.

Speroni, Kuszczak, out of contract, Butland on loan/ buy from Stoke,Almunia, don't see it as a major problem, he will go, shame we'll get now for him......he owes us nothing mind, been fantastic

If Fabianski was up for coming here as number 1 then i'd be more than happy for him and Kasper to trade places. I love Schmeichel but he is replaceable.

Shame they'd get kasper for free and we have to bid a bit on Fabianski. He'd be a solid replacement.

Cant believe what im reading tbh. Sure in the championship you can get away with a substandard keeper, but we are going to be having a hell of a lot more shots on our goal then we have been, of a higher quality too. A good goal keeper in my eyes needs to be a priority, we have one. one hell of one. There is no way we could replace him with a keeper half as good. He is our most underrated player.
