Tommythefox06 Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Stoke should be 1000/1, he won't be going there And Man City the same!!!
ibbosuk Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Think that last sentence sums up just watch a bunch of tools are on that site. If he was such a mercenary, why would he still be here 2 1/2 years later? O.K. lets see IF he stays or goes, then we can decide on your post, and who is actually the "Tool".
Guest Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 I hope he stays but if he prefers to be a backup keeper in a champions league team I won't cry about him going. I'll laugh when I see him only playing in the league cup. It may even be a blessing in disguise for us. Great shot stopper but I'm still not convinced about his command of the area and weakness to crosses.
Nick Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 There may well be equally able and even better keepers out there, no doubt. I'd like Kasper to stay (and I think he will, the papertalk is out there to improve his new deal) because he's a lynchpin of the side in terms of team spirit - he's part of the glue that makes this Leicester side special. Not totally irreplaceable (The man's not plastic) - nobody really is but it's important in my opinion to keep the spine of this team together and he's the base of it.
hackneyfox Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 There is no way we could replace him with a keeper half as good. He is our most underrated player. He isn't that great, he certainly isn't twice as good as a number of goalies we may be able to attract.
artursteppe Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Notice that Leicester are not on the list .....concerning!!! The list is probably for his next club, not his next contract! I'm guessing that the odds for his next contract would be Leicester - evens!
berniethebolt Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Really disappointed if this happened but if Arsenal are sniffing and serious then it will be difficult to keep hold of him. If he went then perhaps the old Spurs granddad Brad Friedel who now appears to be finally second fiddle there could fill his shoes short term until a longer term solution could be found? Either way, they need to tie down these contracts sharp as the vultures are circulating.
Ric Flair Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Kuszack would be a very good signing for us, especially as back-up but I'd take him either way.
pazzerfox Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Kasper is a good keeper...Not a great keeper as of yet. I would like to see him stay, but he is definitely replaceable
Tommythefox06 Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 The list is probably for his next club, not his next contract! I'm guessing that the odds for his next contract would be Leicester - evens! That betting is actually for who he will sign for before 02/09/14 (when summer window closes) Bit cheeky though as betting to over 100% and Leicester not even on the list!!!
Kishan2511 Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 Kasper was a good goal keeper at Manchester City yet had to drop a division to become a first team player and become as good as he currently is. It would be terrible for his own career if he left us. I would hope he would sign a year contract extension at the very least and possibly look at his options at the end of the next season. Cannot see him going to a club like Arsenal or AC Milan to be a understudy to a far superior keeper.
nickelbyfox Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 His dad even mentioned on soccer am last week that it is best for Kasper to go/stay where he is #1 and gets game time. However the lure of more money and a bigger club could be too great to refuse. I want him to stay and think he will. However if he leaves there are a lot of very good keepers about we could go for to replace him. Probably best from our point to get this sorted either way ASAP
Adster Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 If he leaves get David Marshall in when Cardiff get relegated. Top, top keeper.
dmayne7 Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 O.K. lets see IF he stays or goes, then we can decide on your post, and who is actually the "Tool". Why wait; we can do it now. I'm not saying whether or not he will go just that to describe him as a mercenary when he's been at a club for 3 years and been courted by bigger clubs is pretty stupid.
sylofox Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 As he is out of contract at the end of this season, I think he is free to talk to other clubs from Jan 1st this year. But not from the same country.
fleckneymike Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 What folks always seem to overlook is the additional 'cost' of a replacement. IF Kasper leaves for nothing then any replacement ideally needs to be on a free otherwise the fee and wages represent a huge 'loss'. The keepers which people have mentioned in this thread have virtually no sell on fee (Speroni 34 and Marshall 29) which seems to go against our transfer policy.

Agreed but Kasper has not given us a chance on this it has always been out the clubs hands. He stated he would not talk contracts as he wanted top flight football. Now we have it the choice is his and I would like to think if we can show him the ambition to match his he will stay. The bulk of this shite about him is paper speculation or his agent trying to drive up his contract. IMO he needs first team football to full fill his international career we now tick all the boxes. I don't see No 2 status anywhere helping him and I don't see him being good enough first choice for some of the clubs on the list.

The Doctor Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 He stated he would not talk contracts as he wanted top flight football. When and how? Pearson wouldn't talk contacts while the job wasn't finished.
sylofox Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 When and how? Pearson wouldn't talk contacts while the job wasn't finished. Kasper stated at the end of last season he would not talk contracts as he wanted top flight football. He also stated he had no problem staying as long as we got promotion.

Guest Mee-9 Posted 1 May 2014 Posted 1 May 2014 He's been amazing for us. Wouldn't be pissed off if he left, he's been class. Go to higher places.
ozleicester Posted 2 May 2014 Posted 2 May 2014 Reasons to leave... More money - Probable at a number of clubs Other than that, what is the benefit... he wont be first choice at any of the "big" clubs and S'hampton and other mid to low prem teams offer no advancement. Simple answer comes down to him and whats most important... a few extra grand... or being the number one at a mid to low Prem club. If its cash, hes gone!

I genuinely think money won't play a big part in his next decision. He's not that type of guy. If he wanted money and not football he would have moved last season where he could have doubled- at least - his pay cheque. He's not a mercenary type player. It will come to where he can play the most not a few extra grand. Also think his Dad would prefer him to stay and he'll listen to his Dads advice. He should sign a new deal and it's when not if. This would be the worst time of all the chances he has had to jump ship as he has no real reason for doing so because for the first time since he's been here we have got the one thing he wanted - premiership football. He's knows what to expect playing for us and will sign a new deal. The only slightly worrying thing is how long it is taking.
