Top on Pearson & the budget

how much money is spent on squad in summer is "manager's choice"..

Well done, Top. Might as well of just told every other club to double the asking price for any player we are interested in.

Straight out of the Rodney Trotter school of wheelin and dealin.

Haven't we always had an 'Unlimited' transfer budget?

Just Nigel has always worked sensibly in the market.

Still, great news! I'm glad that his heart has been patched up in a matter of days.

Far from it, we were severely restricted by ffp.

Pearsonally I hope nige goes at least a bit crazy. Caution is all well and good but we've got money and a manager who knows how to spend it. Better to take full advantage of this situation by spending as much as reasonably possible and building a genuinely strong premier league squad. Who knows how long it'll be before we get this opportunity again.

I don't recall nige saying that

Me neither. I remember someone like redknapp's agent telling lies to try and get his client some exposure, and I remember how many on here decided they knew for absolute sure what was going on in the privacy of top's mind, but I certainly can't remember pearson saying anything of the sort.

Top's celebration.

He looks like a Bond villain when he has sunglasses on.

If I remember I'll do that tomorrow and maybe a couple of bonus ones

If you do remember and have time I would love a Wasyl one using either of the two photo's below for my signature if possible as one of your bonus ones?

Also one using 'the many faces Andy King' could work well!?!?!?

I've watched the video twice now and both times is as equally enjoyable.

What ever the bloke is saying, it seems to me pretty enthusiastic of our season.

Fvck stringer, get this guy commenting on our games.

Becoming the owners of a Premier League team is the only return the owners of Leicester City have ever wanted from their huge investment in the club, said the vice-chairman.

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, known as Top, and his father, Vichai, have invested millions in taking City to the Premier League.

They have effectively written off much of that investment when they converted £103million of loans to the club into equity.

It is unlikely they will ever see the majority of that money again.

However, Top said they never invested that amount of money for a financial return, but for the satisfaction of owning a side that they could proudly say belonged in the Premier League.

"People talk about why we do that," he told the Mercury. "It was a very simple, easy decision to make.

"The first day we came we have spoken about football, we love football. We want to invest long-term.

"As a businessman talking, we have invested in something that now we get a return on, not money. We get something back, the Premier League.

"If we invested that money in something, perhaps we get a return in 20 years.

"But now it is four years we get our return, but not money – something money can't buy.

"I tell my dad every day that now we are the owners of a Premier League team and everyone will watch our team play around the world. That is the return already.

"I tell my dad that you have to enjoy now. We have tried every year since we arrived and now we are there. We have to enjoy every minute."

The first game a young Top watched live was the League Cup final between City and Middlesbrough, in 1997, and he admits it is hard to believe he now owns the club.

"I am so happy for me, my family and the fans that we are in the Premier League," he added.

"We are very proud to be the owners of a Premier League team, and it is very exciting.

"That was the first game in my life that I saw live. I didn't know much about football then because I was so young, but now I own a team.

"It is funny because at that time I never imagined I would own that team. It is a nice feeling.

"I am very proud for the city because they deserve a Premier League team. I am proud to be part of and delighted that we have made everyone happy.

"Now we are there and we are just happy that what we invested and made everyone in the city happy, and people in Thailand very proud, and makes King Power the owner of a Premier League team."

welllllll, to be fair... the club is now worth a shed load more than it was when they bought it.... im thinking they may still sneak out with a profit if they want to.

Not saying they will... (bless their little cotton socks etc)... but i think its not just for the pleasure.
