Contract talks with Dyer break down?

It's always good to know when you've been beaten.

No, of laughter..

Fair play to him of he's been offered a 3 year deal else where. It gives him security which obviously we couldn't offer him.

It's not a big loss for us though. Of course Dyer would of been a brilliant impact player next year for us, but we have Knocky and Mahrez, and I'm sure Pearson will bring someone in to replace Dyer. Nathan Redmond would be an ideal replacement.

It always makes me laugh about " security " for players. It's hardly as if he's going to go a spell without a club whatever happens. The likely scenario is he'd take a year with us on more dough than can realistically be offered by Championship teams, he'll either be in the first team set up and if he does well then he'll get another year. If not he'll be shipped out on loan mid way through next season and then they'll get him for a nominal fee and he'll sign a 2+ year deal.

There's literally no financial hard ship story for Lloyd here. I think personally he doesn't fancy the gig and is more comfortable in the lower leagues.

Good servant but don't think he'd be good enough next year, has the pace just lacks the rest imo, for every good run he's had, there's one where he's ran down the wing and just stopped because he doesn't seem to know what to do

He cannot be to confident about cutting it in the Premier league himself if he is thinking of leaving.

Possibly......

But its much harder to get a contract at aged 33 and unemployed than it is aged 32 and unemployed.....

The last 10 years have been painfully shit at times. Him and Andy King have been the closest thing we have to legends. It's an over used term but i certainly wouldn't mind using it on a man who has shown so much commitment, loyalty and passion for my club.

Soon as the cash is flashed all that seems to go out the window.

Remember Etoo and Carlos both saying they wouldn't turn up in Russia to play Champions league if they were racially abused again then months later an oligarch was at Anzhi offering them 250-300k a week and they were over there to play every week in the league.

Don't want Lloyd to go to Forest but if we can accept Wes from them I suppose we have to accept it the other way.

I accepted Wes deciding to make the right choice and come to us. He changed his ways for the better.

Lloyd leaving us for them though is sickening. That's the wrong way around.

I think Dyer still loves in the West Mids so I suspect he would jump at a longer term contract somewhere like Forest. I would love him to stay and part of me still thinks he might. I suspect he is playing hard ball!

Wolves is a great shout for him if he really has to leave us. Naive to say I can see him popping up in Leicester away ends here and there next season?

I'd be gutted if he went altough he has been inconsistent for us. Lloyd has chipped in with some nice strikes and important goals. Wish he'd sign a one year deal as it would probably be his one and only chance to play in the Premier League. I think he could be a useful player to bring off the bench with his pace which is his biggest attribute. Anyone if he departs there are better options available.

One thing's for sure, if he does leave Lloyd will be the first former Fox whose career I will actively follow post-LCFC since Muzzy Izzet left (and Kermo obviously).

Certainly won't change my opinion of him if he leaves. Been absolutely fantastic for us, and on his day he's been the best winger in the league. Deserves so much praise for acting professionally even through dodgy spells of treatment under Sven, and whenever we signed other left midfielders. Anyone who's been involved in 2 promotions, 2 play-offs and a champions winning season deserves legendary status. (cue Conrad Logan).

Lloyd strikes me as the kind of player who wants to play week in week out and one that shys away from the limelight. You can see in his manner that he isn't as "banter" as the other lads so I'd imagine ultimately he would love a 3 year contract at a midlands team where he knows he will play regularly. It will be a shame to see him go and a shame for him not to play in the premier league. I think Nige will want him to stay though so let's see.
