Filbert_Ross Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 The thing is though, will he actually play in the prem? Or be on the bench all season? Bit of both more of the latter.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 I hope he stays, but he must realise chances of playing will be limited, he might not even get on the bench. I hate to see well liked players leave but that's football.
VLC86 Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 If he stays and can't quite cut it against the best I won't think any less of his time here. He'll have played in 3 divisions for us and helped us win 2 of them whether he stays or not that won't change. Awwwwwww you big softie you, group hug!!!!
youglan Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 If he does leave, I may cry. What a great servant he has been to this football club, we have had some shit wingers down the years, but he has been up there with some of the best we've had especially in the past 10 years. I will miss shouting "Run Usain" everytime he gets the ball. One of a few players, I really love. guppy was the best winger ive seen with dyer just beyond
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 guppy was the best winger ive seen with dyer just beyond I probably go back a bit further than you and would add Steve Lynex to Guppy and Dyer.
MC Prussian Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 This is one of the saddest days of my life.Don't get so down over the fate or imminent future decision of Lloyd. He's been with us through one of the most rollercoaster seasons of them all and he'd be foolish not to accept it.I can actually see him being a huge impact player in the Premier League and I would like him to emulate Palace's Puncheon if possible. Stay, Lloyd. You'll stay. It's not the time to leave. Not yet.
Jon25747 Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 Quite telling that he wouldn't speak to the birch on the walkaround...
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 Was almost definitely his last game in a city shirt. Can tell from how when he was substituted he shook everyone's hand and milked applause and waved at the crowd.
KFS Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 That was his last game judging by his behaviour when being substituted. I love Lloyd
WhispyWizard Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 No room for sentiment, hes a 3rd choice winger and will only get lower. Thank you Lloyd for some great moments, i hope you find a club next year gunning for promotion, lets just hope its not Forest!
Monsell1976 Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 Be nice to keep you Lloyd, but if you ain't happy with the offer, bye, bye
ElusiveEd Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 Noticed his demeanour when subbed too. More of a "Farewell" as he left the pitch. Was similar to, but on a slightly less scale, to Kevin Phillips when he was subbed. I like Lloyd, flashes of brilliance and speed seem to arise less and less as the season progressed but on his day nobody can touch him, let alone catch him. If he is off, then i wish him all the best with many thanks for some incredible goals and assists.

steflcfc Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 didn't know if anyone else noticed also that when Nugent scored his penalty everyone ran over to Nugent to celebrate, where as Dyer didn't and he just walked back to the halfway line on his own.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 There's no substitute for real pace at any level. I can imagine Dyer coming into a game at 60/70 mins and frightening tiring full backs. He's a loyal servant to the club, and has earnt a new contract. If he wants two seasons, I'd give him it. I suspect he's not one of the biggest earners anyway. Regarding all those saying he won't cut it in the Prem.. how do you know? Who would have expected Lloyd to have had his best ever season in a City shirt this time round? 2 seasons for a player who has given the club so much, never moaned, never complained.. compared to some of the fookin bang-average players in the Prem, earning stupid money? Shame on all you doubters. I hope Lloyd does stay and proves you all wrong.
Ric Flair Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 Some players just aren't very ambitious, unless Burnley take him he's unlikely to ever play in the Premier League, probably about fair as he's not good enough. I'll not lose any sleep over this, I'd have liked him to be in the squad as an impact player for his rapid pace and ability to score the odd goal but really I expect better down at Leicester next season. Bye then.

sphericalfox Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 I love Lloyd, but given his limitations, he should be grateful he was offered anything. We should be able to afford to bring in someone of his pace but younger. I hope he maintains the dignity and professionalism that he has played with over the years. Has definitely grown on me, especially his outstanding start to this season. I'll be a little sad he's gone if he doesn't reconsider, but realistically we need to improve in that position if we are going to succeed at any level of the Premiership (damn that feels good to type) .

lifted*fox Posted 3 May 2014 Posted 3 May 2014 A real shame if he goes, especially on a bad note. When Birch went over to him during the lap of honour and asked him a question Lloyd just waved him away, looking quite annoyed. Would be a shame for him to leave like that 😕

Small margins people!!!!!!
