Contract talks with Dyer break down?

He's a good lad it will be sad to see him leave, i think he would have had a good go in the premier league! But anyway his decision! Fingers crossed he changes his mind, could be his only opportunity to play in the premier league! If he does leave he'll still remain a legend!

Lloyd was fantastic up until around January time and then seemed to burn out. Mahrez signing was timely and key. Unfortunately the Club has now outlived Lloyd, and for him its a tremendous shame we'll have some great memories of him sprinting down the wing and scoring some crucial goals for us, but the offer of 1 year would have seemed a token effort for a player who will surely be getting limited playing time next season and at 32 in October will not be getting any younger. Unfortunately he will not be of the required standard for the Premier League and it will be a shame to see him go, but good luck to him he'd be a welcome addition to any promotion hunting Championship team. I'm sorry he has helped us on the journey from the beginning and he won't be able to see it through.

Cheers Lloyd.

Hope he stays and plays a role but 1 year seems reasonable, if he stays and gives it a go and it doesn't work out he can move on in the Jan window.

This is going to be one of the rare occasions where I'll be genuinely upset to see a player go, I know it'll happen eventually but it seems so unnecessary for him to go now.

Come on Lloyd, just sign up for another year.

His loss if he doesn't stop for another year. He's been a brilliant servant here. A year extension seems a fair deal, he's an idiot if he's turned that down.

I think him and king are the only survivors from our league 1 days (Conrad excluded), they've been through it all and it would be awful to see him leave when we've reached the pinnacle

Think we need to give Lloyd a good send-off tomorrow. It's a shame we won't see him in a Leicester shirt again, but he's given us plenty of good memories over the last six years. He's definitely been one of my favourite players since he's been here, on his day he can be a real handful. For all the stick he's received when he's not been as effective, no-one can doubt that he's always given us 100% effort and commitment. Top man, top player and he'll be missed as far as I'm concerned.

Lets hope for one more appearance where Lloyd tears the opposition apart...

i still can't work out why he wouldn't take a year. presumably it'd be a year with a few clauses and if he played enough/played well he'd get another year, if not someone like wolves, birmingham etc would take him after a year, not need to move, still get a decent wage and play championship football. and in the mean time he'd get a year's crack at the big time that he's played a part getting us to.

i'm sure he's been quoted saying he proper loves leicester city, come on man do the right thing.

He must have another good club lined up and he knows he isn't going to be starting here. Definitely my favourite player over the last 7/8 years, great attitude, electric pace...wish him well for the future.

Just to play devil's advocate, there are other motivations in footballing life, and I don't just mean money.

Lloyd always looks like he enjoys his football and he's a hard worker. He's spent spells out of the team here and I doubt he enjoys it.

Playing in the Premier League would be richly deserved for him in his heart he perhaps knows he's not really of that standard. He probably, and rightly, looks at the career and thinks "You know what, that's not half bad. I'm not Gareth Bale but I've got Champions medals for the two highest levels of the football league". He should be proud of that, and maybe feels he'd regret spending the twilight of his career not in the matchday squad more than he would missing out on the Premier League.

That's not even going into money matters, he has a young family does he not? Lot to be said for job security.

He's been the only player I would describe as a true icon and servant of this club from the last decade and deserves to depart with his head held high and all the goodwill we can muster. He will be a great signing for any Championship side.

 Hear hear. If you go Lloyd, you're welcome back whenever. Would love to see you go at Fabio or Glenn Johnson next year, but respect whatever decision you make. An Unforgettable in an era when so very few made any impression...

Not really. Lloyd was keeping Mahrez on the bench until he got injured. He was out for a month and by then Mahrez had got settled in the starting XI.

Considering everything he's ever said I'm surprised he wouldn't take a year's extension. I can't see him staying at Championship level after how hard he's worked to get us up in the past few years so there must be a rival offer from one of the top 6 or a lower half Prem club on the table too.

Whatever happens, good luck Lloyd, a genuine 100% player who loves the club which is a rare beast in football these days..

I remember signing him and Morrison at the same time when I was in Year 10 or 11 at school and having my Sheffield Wednesday supporting teacher laugh at the PC screen. (They'd only just stayed up at our expense)

One of the only players in my lifetime that has stayed through the highs and lows and genuinely looked like he loves the club. Been there through it all.

At times he looked simply unplayable. I still don't think any full back can cope with him on his day. Would have loved to have seen him in the Premier League, to complete the journey if nothing else.

I'll remember you as a legend of my childhood Lloyd. Something that has been a rarity to say the least these last 10 years.

I really dont want him to go, but consider this... is it better for him to leave us after his best season and scoring the goal that made us champions. Or for him to have a year in the prem, not cut the mustard and end up with the fans having a lesser opinion of him at the end of next year? I love Lloyd to pieces but unfortunately I simply cant imagine him being good enough for the premiership....... I guess this is his dilemma to consider, I will support him whatever he chooses to do.

If he stays and can't quite cut it against the best I won't think any less of his time here. He'll have played in 3 divisions for us and helped us win 2 of them whether he stays or not that won't change.
