George Taft Leaves

Not a fan of Taft but how many Sheffield fans will be looking at where Vardy is now with red faces? Vardy was renowned for a bit of bad behaviour as a youth player and ended up dropping down to nonleague but is now a premier league striker with an excellent season behind him.

Vardy was 16, Taft is almost 21. Bit of a difference really.

If he does that, fair play to him-if he works as hard as Vardy then he deserves as much success as he gets.

The issue people have with Taft isn't his behaviour, it's that he thinks he's the heir to Maldini and God's gift before achieving even a first team place. If you give it large and then fail in League 2 and still don't work hard enough to improve then you've got to expect derision from fans who pay your massively inflated wages...

Last chance weller7 George - if someone does take a chance on you then get your head down and you might get the opportunity to answer your critics. But even then, we won't be wrong for saying you've wasted your time here.

They're all like it though, I went to college with a few Swindon Town scholars, they all thought they were the next big thing and that they were going places.

Why are people getting so exorcised about Taft?

It appears that currently he isn't good enough for the first team so has decided to pursue his career elsewhere, good luck to him.

And the end of the day if you want the rainbow, you've gotta put up with the rain.

so, hands on heart, how many of us have been involved in an academy of a professional football club? Fair enough, the lad hasn't quite cut it in terms of breaking into the first team, but he has played representative football for England at the youth levels.  (again, i imagine something that not many of us can claim to have done!)

Lets not label him as being an abject failure. if he spent the rest of his career earning £50,000 a year playing football, then he is following a dream that many of us would trade places with.

but then I suppose everyone on here is earning six figure salaries and excelling in all aspects of their life given the stick that he has had.

He's here,

Let's get our facts right here George Tafts agent asked the club to release his contract knowing full well that he has over 10 clubs wanting to sign him & the lad himself wants to play regular 1st team football , sorry to disappoint the haters on here but that's the way it is

He's there,

Fair enough if you have an opinion on him as a footballer, say what you want but half of you come across as bitter ***** that are jealous of his life.

"He'll be fixing boilers in a year". Sums it up really.

He's every foocking where. George Taft, George Taft.

Even in the uni leagues you can tell who has played for an academy previously. There's a stark difference in attitudes towards them in comparison to when you meet a footballer who's 'made it'.

Funny, that.

Playing for England youth teams doesnt mean much really when you consider the fact that Francis Jeffers & Michael Ricketts both have full England caps.
