orangecity23 Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 So he has the same first name as Puyol... Oh, so it's just Carlos. Didn't realise you could spell it with an 'e'. Learn something new everyday. I don't know what to think about Palace getting Sanogo. Hopefully he'll stick to being duff Sanogo, and not the unplayable 4 goals in one game Sanogo he turns into every once in a blue moon.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Erm, whilst we do need to have one eye looking forward just because we've got abit of a run going can we just keep taking it game by game please? We have Stoke next then an FA Cup game, let's not discount the important match against Stoke 1st before simply jumping to the United game that's 3 Saturdays away. United came up in the Premier League thread, hence our game aganist Yanited was discussed. Stop being salty.
MC Prussian Posted 14 January 2015 Posted 14 January 2015 That went sour quick - Falcao rumoured to leave Manchester United after only one season... http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30806619 Either that or his agent's attempt at getting a better deal at Old Trafford.
Matt Posted 14 January 2015 Posted 14 January 2015 United came up in the Premier League thread, hence our game aganist Yanited was discussed. Stop being salty. And then a poll pops up about whether we'll do the double over them or not.
Matt Posted 14 January 2015 Posted 14 January 2015 Paul Jewell has left his position as assistant head coach to Tony Pulis just a week after being appointed. The former Wigan, Ipswich and Derby manager expressed reservations about his role and leaves West Bromwich Albion by mutual consent. West Brom sources insisted there was no fallout but the shock departure has seen Tony Pulis turn to Gerry Francis. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2908921/Paul-Jewell-leaves-West-Bromwich-Albion-just-WEEK-linking-Tony-Pulis-No-2.html Sky Sports News have just said apparently Jewell's made a statement saying it wasn't by mutual consent and it is in the hands of his lawyers.
Unabomber Posted 14 January 2015 Posted 14 January 2015 The only thing I can think happened there is that Pulis got drunk and appointed him as a bet. Then the cold sobering light of day hit and after throwing up in his baseball cap he realised just what he had done.
justfoxes Posted 14 January 2015 Posted 14 January 2015 This is a funny video to stop you being bored for five minutes and also takes the wee out of Chelski fans !! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zPwXJerRjl4
ScouseFox Posted 14 January 2015 Posted 14 January 2015 bony to city official. not sure if he's that good but it's not like they care about money. wonder what dzeko thinks of it all?
Matt Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/reaction-aston-villa-fans-protest-8437228 I hope they do it and Villa score within those 8 minutes only for the Villa fans all the rush up to their seats to find out it's been disallowed or Liverpool hit back instantly with an equaliser! On the subject of Villa I thought it was a joke when I read this but it turns out it is true, they have only scored 11 goals How the hell are they above us!!
Dan Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 I cannot get my head around how Villa are as high as they are. They are absolutely turd. How can a side who has scored just over a goal every two games be as high as 13th? It isn't like their defence is that good either. Fair play to them for actually making their feelings known though if they aren't happy with it - I don't really see how people can knock them or Newcastle for protesting against what are quite obviously crap owners. The best stat I've read this season is that Bournemouth have scored more in Birmingham than Villa have this season.

They moan about every manager, O'Leary, Houllier, McLeish, Lambert and O'Neill. Joke club that thinks way above their station. What will that protest show? Its pathetic. Support the team in times of adversity.

Support the team in times of adversity. I don't get that last comment about thinking they're way above their station. Would you be content if we were as bad as they are every year? They're inevitably going to be relegated in the next few years. If we were playing how Villa played last week every week I wouldn't be happy either and considering they've only scored 11 times in 21 games I don't think last week was exactly out of the ordinary.

Why do they play so badly? Their young team is bereft of confidence as the crowd at Villa park are horrendous. The fans need to have a good look at themselves, it works both ways. Last week was a low point for Villa, go back to the start of the season. My best mates are Villa fans and I live over this way. You try being amongst them.
Matt Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 From my experience of Villa fans they are very up their own arses and think Villa are something special, it's always been the case, ok in the past maybe they've had a right to be like that but certainly in the recent years? They need to come down to earth with a bang.

Guest MattP Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 I'm actually struggling to get around how you can only score eleven goals and be nowhere near the bottom in January. It's one of the most bizarre footballing statistics I've ever seen.
Tielemans63 Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 Palace have offered 3 million for Neil Taylor - we should be all over that.
lgfualol Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 Palace have offered 3 million for Neil Taylor - we should be all over that. But we have Konchesky
Fox in the North Posted 15 January 2015 Posted 15 January 2015 Palace have offered 3 million for Neil Taylor - we should be all over that. Being as he's their starter, I'd imagine they wouldn't want to sell him, and especially not for 3 million.
Dan Posted 16 January 2015 Posted 16 January 2015 Spot on, they have done fcuk all for years, another deluded club that is mid table mediocrity. And they should be happy with that? I'm not claiming Villa fans aren't obnoxious arseholes (I've come across plenty who fit the bill) but I wouldn't be content if Leicester were in their current scenario. They're above us at the minute but we have a far better model in place in the long-term. I'm actually struggling to get around how you can only score eleven goals and be nowhere near the bottom in January. It's one of the most bizarre footballing statistics I've ever seen. Same here. Two 2-1 wins as well so that's 7 goals from 19 games

Two 2-1 wins as well so that's 7 goals from 19 games No I wouldn't say happy but Lerner has Spunked tens of millions maybe even hundreds of his own money trying to bring success to the club. How can you actually knock a man for that? He wants out and is trying to sell. I could understand if he was trying to bleed the club dry.

To be arsey, to my knowledge 'Carles' is the Catalan version of 'Carlos' - such as Carles Puyol. Gil is from Valencia where they also speak a different language.
ScouseFox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 burnley and us the biggest losers today. burnley"s bubble's burst there, should be easy winnin from 2-0 up and be well clear of the drop by now. shame.
Torten Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Burnley scoring from a corner like that? Why can't we EVER do anything like that?
ScouseFox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 oh man that ball from the corner for burnley's goal why can't we just do that
