MC Prussian Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 I think Bentley's Roof just imploded. Mission accomplished.
Danizen Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 I hate weekends like this. I'm always thinking, 'these are shit, we can still catch them' and then I remember that we are worse. Especially in the games that matter.
m4DD0gg Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Rekon Burnley will stay up based on what i have seen the last few weeks and fair play to them. Us bottom, QPR then sunderland for the other relegation spots.
Gerard Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 I still believe we can get out of this. Six home games and three away versus Sunderland, Burnley and West Brom. We can go into every game with a reasonable chance of winning it. Sometimes you just need a bit of inspiration or a spark to ignite your season. Three goals away at Spurs might see Pearson sticking with an attacking philosophy and we could just go on a roll. The bottom six all lost this weekend so we're all just as bad. West Ham at home next and they have nothing to play for now. No cups, no chance of a UEFA Cup place and no chance of relegation. They may come back from this two week break and not quite be at the races and drop 10% in performance levels and a win could get our season going. You have to have hope and I for one genuinely still do.
Fox92 Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Of course we can still get out of it. I have some hope otherwise what's the point in turning up for games. Nothing changed this week because QPR, Burnley and Sunderland all lost too so in Nigel's words "we go again". We need to play with the same threat and intensity as we did yesterday though. Most of our home games are 'winnable' - Southampton and Chelsea look like the toughest - and our away games are also 'winnable' (again, I'm looking at West Brom as the toughest one there).
Harry - LCFC Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 I also think we can survive. I find it more fulfilling going to games wtih the belief that winning will mean something. Our good performances are enough to give me hope. I reckon a fair number of people would change their mind if we were to win one game.
Tielemans63 Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 I'm usually pretty optimistic about all things LCFC but I think you're kidding yourself if you think we'll get out of this one.
Harry - LCFC Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 I'm usually pretty optimistic about all things LCFC but I think you're kidding yourself if you think we'll get out of this one. Not one of us said we think we will do it, we said we think it's possible.
Tielemans63 Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Not one of us said we think we will do it, we said we think it's possible. Well obviously it is possible until it's mathematically impossible!
Benguin Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 Before anyone slags me off I'm pretty sure we're going down BUT Sunderland and Hull will struggle to get more than 6 points out of their remaining fixtures. This means that either Burnley or Leicester will escape IMO. I think burnley will do it but I'm much more positive now I've checked te teams around us fixtures
Gerard Posted 22 March 2015 Posted 22 March 2015 One shining hope for us is that we have only picked up two points in our last eight games and the teams around us have gone nowhere. We are running out of games and at some point we're going to need to settle our own destiny. We have an as easy a run in as you could wish for and the teams around us can barely buy a win between them. We have had every opportunity to get ourselves out of this and still have. We're not asking for a miraculous set of results but we really need to start taking three points from matches sooner rather than later. A West Ham team at home who may already be mentally on their holidays is a great place to start.
Dan Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Latest Premier League Relegation odds; QPR 1/8 Leicester 1/5 Burnley 4/6 Sunderland 6/4 Hull 7/2 Aston Villa 4/1 That's horribly tempting. See the bookies still think we're better than QPR. As do I.
Dan Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 If we somehow finish 18th and above Burnley and QPR, at least a part of of me will be somewhat satisfied with how the season panned out. Really? I think that's scraping the barrel with a pin. It would be like 50 deaths in a pile-up rather than 55.
MC Prussian Posted 23 March 2015 Posted 23 March 2015 Really? I think that's scraping the barrel with a pin. It would be like 50 deaths in a pile-up rather than 55. Sort of - at least it would represent the status quo the way all three teams got promoted in the first place. Of course, I'd be delighted if we managed to sneak into 17th - but the odds are fading.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 25 March 2015 Posted 25 March 2015 As if Skrtel, the thick thug, has put a picture of 3 clowns on social media after being banned. What an absolute tool, I hope they give him a few games more.
Out Foxed Posted 25 March 2015 Posted 25 March 2015 Well obviously it is possible until it's mathematically impossible! arithmetically not mathematically.
foxfanazer Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 arithmetically not mathematically.Have you ever kissed a girl?
AyewJoking Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Not one of us said we think we will do it, we said we think it's possible. you could be 20 points from safety with only 21 to play for. its still possible.
Harry - LCFC Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 you could be 20 points from safety with only 21 to play for. its still possible. 'Thinkable' is probably the word I ought to have used. When I and others say it's possible for us to survive we really mean we think it's not unreasonable to suggest it could happen. Possible in the sense that I can imagine it happening rather than the literal definition of the word.
RedSoxUK Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Will Sean Dyche be branded a genius if he keeps Burnley up?
ealingfox Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 Am I the only one who doesn't think the Skrtel incident was on purpose? Foot goes to its natural landing point and his eyes stay on the ball. You can guarantee if that was Smalling or Jones on Mignolet at the other end there'd be no further action.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 26 March 2015 Posted 26 March 2015 The fact that when De Gea confronted him he gave it the big man act rather than said yeah sorry was an accident meant he was always going to be, rightfully imo, found guilty.
Matt Posted 27 March 2015 Posted 27 March 2015 QPR's director of football Les Ferdinand believes covert racism is rife in the game and preventing ethnic minorities from getting top jobs in management. QPR's Chris Ramsey is the only black manager in the Premier League - and Ferdinand wants to see a Rooney Rule- style law introduced to give more BAME (Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic) coaches a chance. Oh get over yourself Les, you sound as bad a Paul Ince.
