Kasper signs new deal - 4 years

I had a dream last night where I bumped into him and he told me he'd signed for PSG. He also then took me on a walk to a theme park and showed me the giant dinosaur statue me owned which had a laser that rose out of its head so watch this space

Conrad Logan to announce his retirement from sitting on the LCFC subs bench.

Quoted as saying, he's sat on it for a good while and in light of the news that Kasper is staying has decided it's time for his ass to part company with the seat in the dugout.

During his time at Leicester he has got to know that seat which has supported him thro every home game for fourty years.

"I just feel the time is right to move over and let another promising, up and coming bench warmer be given some bench time whilst I move on to another dugout and a fresh challenge"

Nigel Pearson wished him well and stated "Conrad was always the first name on his team sheet as he had staked his claim for that seat in the dugout and had made it his own' there was never anyone one else close to taking that seat away from him and with Kasper signing a new four year deal I can understand his desire to find another club seat as he really isn't going to get a look in here now"

We wish him well.

Hardly going to cause us many problems is it? How much do you think signing his replacement would cost us? 4/5 mil? Then wages, 30k a week say... That's 8.5 mil minimum yet if he's on £40k per week that's just over £6 mil.

Are teams going to want him if we go down? Yes and I can't see us getting less than £3 mil so therefore over a year we would have made money.

No risk at all for a good International keeper

I don't like to be picky but isn't 40,000 a week for 4 yrs over 8 million?

We have BILLIONAIRES, that's pocket change for them! :P

Most of the Championship winning squad will have new deals by the sound of things, so assuming they all get a pay rise then that £8 million figure will rocket.

Perhaps the difference between the alleged 30K a week cap and the Sun reported 40K a week, will be dressed up as a 're-signing on' fee? Either way, 'if' he has signed, massively good news.  The 'in the know' Stringer will Tweet shortly.

I think we need to get our heads around the premier league budget. The money coming in each year will be in the region of 90 mill +. Add to that the amount that the owners are allowed to inject and paying players 40k per week becomes no problem. As much as some of you dont like it, 40k is not a big PL salary.

Of course, the problem comes with relegation but i would hope the contracts are structured accordingly and in any case, we should be ambitious, given the owners desire.

40k a week is fine for a player like kasper

hes not a money grabbing player, he plays for the love of the game, the respect & for the schmeichel legacy

if 40k a week comes with that who is he to say no?

his agent does the maths, kasper does the magic

I don't believe it.

a) "Worth over £40,000 a week" I just can't see it happening.

b) It's printed by The Sun.

Unless the article is complete tosh.

Considering it's The Sun it has more chance of being complete tosh than true.

Obviously I hope this is true but why do we believe a newspaper article if it's good news, yet if the sun reported Kasper has signed for someone else we would assume its rubbish? I'll take everything reported with a pinch of salt over the summer until things are official.

I didn't read the article and presumed it was a 3 year deal

Good news and well worth £40,000 when you consider his market value! Last week he was worth nothing to us now we could sell him for £5 million if we wanted and if our owners can afford to pay the likes of Yuki Abi, Matt Mills and Yakubu £40,000 in the Championship they should be able to afford that for Schmeichel in the Premiership. Lets not forget TV Premiership revenue rocketed last year Cardiff received more this season just finished than Man Utd did the season before theres never been a better time to rejoin the Premiership

Quite a few getting worried about the wage, why? 40 isn't a sniff on Premier League wages, infact that's largely sensible.

Great news but really £40000 a week 😲

For a keeper of his quality and age he is worth it, we aren't in the Championship anymore that wage isn't massive in the Prem.

But yes if we were to get relegated and there isn't some sort of clause that wouldn't be ideal.
