Kasper signs new deal - 4 years

Don't see a problem with the wage although it goes against the supposed wage cap so I'd be interested to see if it is actually that amount if he has signed.

That wage would only be a problem in the Championship, if we go down then I am certain he would leave that summer, if he'd didn't leave then I'd hope there's some clause in his contract that would drop his wage

It's going to take at least 40k per week to bring in players that can push us on for a top 8 position within the next few years.

Get used to it.

Besides, Izzet and co. were on around 30k 10 years ago.

Surely all contracts are slashed if relegation occurs.

We can't go through all that again

What's the big deal about £40k a week? That's absolute peanuts for PL players.

Everything's an issue on Foxestalk, despite it actually being very low for a clubs top earner in the Premiership and considering if he didn't sign we would possibly need to pay a transfer fee to sign someone to replace him anyway!

I wonder how they feed their families, poor people!

The simplicity of the situation is this:

- We have signed a talented and important player to a long term contract.

- The length of the contract ensures we receive a transfer fee when he eventually moves on.

- If we are relegated then he will be sold and the £40,000 will be off the wage bill, he won't be playing in the Championship again.

This, hes one of our highest earners in the Championship and has proved more than once that hes worth it and deserves to be one of our highest paid prem players.

I doubt its true that hes signed, but i'd be happy with this at any cost, one less thing for Nige to worry about if he does sign.

And by 2001 we were in administration

True but we are going to receive a hell of a lot more money from TV deals and stuff than what we ever have in our history. Cardiff received 62mill from TV alone...

The club keeps all transfer and contract business so close to it's chest that how the **** would the Sun know what we've paid him? They'd be lucky to get a nod that he's signed.

Would imagine any wage would be a guess.

May as well never make the jump to the Premiership then, just incase.

If we want to compete next season, we will need to spend a bit of money. Getting Kasper on a 4 year deal gives us an opportunity to sell him if the worst does happen. We stay up, the money is so ridiculous now that it pays for itself.

If it paid for itself no club in the premiership would be in debt.

40k is a lot of money and when compared to what Athletico Madrid, Dortmund etc pay it's not value for money.

You have to remember the revenue the premier league generates is huge in comparison to the Bundesliga and La Liga.

Don't really mind if it's 40k a week. Win-Win for us in the fact that the average premiership salary is 40k a week, so we get a very talented goalkeeper who is still developing for the average wage, and even if we go down, we know he'll always have interested parties who'll have to give us a few million if they want to take him off us in the next 4 years. sorted.

This. If we need to sell next year we simply use the extensive contract as leverage. Good business imo

I wouldn't believe anything yet.

I like Kasper but I think we could do a lot better for 40k a week.

Thibault Courtois is only on half that!

Conrad Logan to announce his retirement from sitting on the LCFC subs bench.

Quoted as saying, he's sat on it for a good while and in light of the news that Kasper is staying has decided it's time for his ass to part company with the seat in the dugout.

During his time at Leicester he has got to know that seat which has supported him thro every home game for fourty years.

"I just feel the time is right to move over and let another promising, up and coming bench warmer be given some bench time whilst I move on to another dugout and a fresh challenge"

Nigel Pearson wished him well and stated "Conrad was always the first name on his team sheet as he had staked his claim for that seat in the dugout and had made it his own' there was never anyone one else close to taking that seat away from him and with Kasper signing a new four year deal I can understand his desire to find another club seat as he really isn't going to get a look in here now"

We wish him well.

Nice one. :)

If this story was about him leaving most people would be calling it bullshit

Now a story says he's staying and people are taking it as fact

:/

Was gunna say this thread title is missing a "?" from the end of it.

His new contract that will be sorted next season will be double that and add 20!

Check out his age/experience when he signed that 20k/ week deal

Most online sources I can find seem to suggest Courtois is on 60k a week at the minute, which for a keeper of his ability is still cheap.

In this day and age what is 40k? Considering Messi signed a new deal yesterday with a basic salary of 16.3 mil a year (£313,000 a week) 40k is only just above the premiership average of 24-30k a week. PFA for the info on that.

I say fair play if he's negotiated that deal and he's happy to sign. I think if he had to replace him we would be paying mush less than that anyway and who realistically could we get in who is better? Are marshal or ruddy any better really? Neither would come cheap.
