He played a few friendlies and never really shone at any level. Ben Thatcher seemingly being a done deal before he decided to stay at Wimbledon. Although that DID eventually happen.

You're better than that, no Liverpool fan (on a Leicester City forum AKCJ's) needs reminding of this. Wes Brown was close to signing in the early 00's for regular first team football to boost his chances of going to the 2002 World Cup, a fee of around £3 million was agreed but Ferguson blocked the deal. True story that as well.
