QPR being ambitious........we're trying to get Fryatt!

This mornings paper news!

What do you think?

It's been reported we don't need marquee signings etc. OK correct but at the end of the season, we all had the same idea of where we needed to strengthen, e.g. LB, CB, MC, ST.

Getting Fryatt for me is not strengthening! I just hope it's paper talk only, although after the Upson signing?!

And just to add, QPR are trying to sign Lescott, which would've been a better signing for us, this £30k a week will send us straight back down!

Are we preparing for relegation already or are they just trying to prepare for FFP? I don't hear about other teams in the premier putting a wage cap up?

I think you're very panicky for 8.30 on a Saturday morning

The Hull fans I speak to on another forum think that Fryatt was one of their better players last season and hope that they will bench Jelavic for him next season.

Our management team will come up with properly scouted players that will fit our playing style.  There will be deals but not rushed and not for silly wages.  We don't need players who are on their last big wage. QPR have a poor record as far as this goes.

Right that's it, 0 points because QPR are spending more than our imaginary wage cap

Why do i get the feeling that if these RUMOURS were the other way around you'd be on here complaining that we were wasting money on a 30 something has been crock like Lescott, whilst QPR were intelligently strenghtning the depth of their squad with the aquisition of a decent back-up striker like Fryatt.

What do I think? Well I don't read newspapers, because most of the content is rubbish and made up. Did you see Ronaldo had to come out and say that his interview that The Sun published (surprise!) never even happened. I wouldn't take much notice of newspapers, especially tabloids. I've highlighted the word "reported" and I think that should be enhanced here... "Little men tapping things out, it's their point of view".

Let QPR do what they want. I'd soon rater have Nigel in charge than Redknapp, especially when it comes to transfers. Lets keep it real a bit, Nige has a budget and he isn't going to break that. Last thing I want to see is my club linked with Lescott, Cole and Lampard. All good players I grant you, but image the wage they'll be on. I've said before, I'd rather us to a nice stable approach. Last time QPR went up, they signed about 14 players sacked the manager, appointed a new manager who spent millions on rubbish then was sacked then hired a new manager who did the same but didn't buy as many players then got relegated. Half of the players that QPR will be getting back this summer from their loan moves don't even care about the club. I don't want that here.

Half of these rumours are lazy anyway. Oh Fryatt's out of contract, he's played for Nigel Pearson twice so let's link him with Leicester. You know, it's like when Lennon left Celtic last month, rumour to take over from Nigel. Is it ever going to happen? No, but because Nige is out of contract and Lennon is a hero here they put two and two together.

They were ambitious when they signed Samba for 12 million and 100k a week, that worked out well!

Prefer us to go about our business quietly, no points are won in May!

I will be very very very disappointed if we resign Fryatt. We are premier league ffs! Lescott is exactly the type of player we should be trying to sign!

Ageing, massive wage, injury prone, not played for ages and nothing to prove...

Yeah, I'm so gutted we're missing out...

Christ!

Spending loads of money worked out great for QPR in the Prem, Sven in the Championship etc

Meanwhile leaving Pearson to get on with it has been an unmitigated disaster.

No promotion

No record points haul

No record total wins

No record consecutive wins

No record away wins

Just get Pearson out & get a big spender in

Decrying Upson signing? Really? Player of the season for the best defence in the division & a a threat at set pieces, something we're woeful on. Not many better LCB around, never mind one that will boost us so well.

And as for Fryatt? Are we after him? Does any reliable source say so and even if we were we need 4-5 forwards so Nugent & Vardy, Wood & GTF plus who? Fryatt would improve the squad if he were to come

And anyway, Wood could leave and we could actually sign a bigger name

But they're going to be hard to come by until the transfer wheel gets fully in motion after the World Cup, sure we may not sign one of its stars, but for a player to move one usually needs to be sold and it's when the whole pyramid starts to move we'll actually see proper signings not just one to fill the squad out

Sure, Lescott may have more years left him but he was hardly great and after so long not playing competitive football Vs Upson playing week in & week out doing the business, not to mention his experience helping our squad in other ways...

Leave it to NP, not a forum moron

Yeah, Lescott would be great up front wouldn't he.

I don't even know where to start with this thread other than saying be careful what you wish for.

Let's get everyone in on £100k per week, signing a bunch of has beens and hope for the best eh? What team has possibly failed by doing this recently, oh yeah QPR.

What do you think the main factor in getting promoted last season was? Maybe team spirit? Your willing to watch your football team that destroyed the championship last season be dismantled and bring in a load of over paid, past their best players to replace the young, hungry team that got us promoted?

Do us a favour and go back to bed.

Same was being said last summer, we didn't spend, spend, spend so we weren't going to improve or we would go backwards. Didn't happen we had one of our greatest seasons ever.

Our squad is young and they are improving has a team, for me we don't want to be spending massive not yet. We have the team capable of staying up already.

No one is suggesting we go shit crazy with the money but come on one or two signings of quality wouldn't go amiss the players we have signed so far are good squad players nothing more, than that I want us to sign players that are going to improve our first team for example Gareth Barry would improve our central midfield options, Cardozo would improve our striking options.

QPR are already paying absolute fortunes to the likes of

Rob Green

Shaun Wright-Phillips

Jermaine Jenas

Joey Barton

Junior Hiolett

Yossi Benayoun

Loic Remy

Adel Taarabt

Stephane Mbia

Julio Cesar

and will never see a return on that investment, adding an ageing (albeit very good) Lescott and Barry is madness. They cannot offload easily from that squad as the wages they carry are horrendous. The only player from the list above guaranteed to improve your side is Remy, all the rest are either over the hill or maddeningly inconsistent. As others have said, calm down.
