If You Had To Choose....

Just saying that it says a lot about the side that your choice for best player was because he "looked lively".

Personally think he was shite, would give it to Sterling based on his first half vs the Italians.

Literally can't pick one.

Cahill, Sterling or Rooney. I'm no Rooney lover but he was decent against Uruguay and assisted a goal against Italy.

he played well vs italy, played well enough considering we barely gave him the ball and everything we did well went through him vs uruguay and i didn't watch all of today but he missed a sitter from the bit i did see.

see what you mean though that shouldn't be anywhere near enough to be the best player at the world cup.

Sturridge got a goal and an assist too

Nobody played consistently well.

Looking at it the other way, my worst players have been:

1) Hart, his effort to stop Uruguays winner was disgraceful, Kasper would have stood tall and taken a ball in the face.

2) Jags is useless, can't wait til Vardy had a go at him.

3) Cahill does try, but is too slow.

Replace those three, we may have a chance, but not with Smalling, he wouldn't get in the city team.

For all his critics, probably Rooney. Played out of position vs Italy but could easily have had a goal in the 2nd half when he gave Sirigu the eyes and shot narrowly wide, and made a great assist for the goal. Looked lively against Uruguay and on another night could have had a hattrick. Costa Rica was a dead rubber of course.

I agree with that bit. Said prior to the World Cup that I didn't have much faith in Sturridge at this level, but let him off as people rightly pointed out his lack of experience, but even yesterday he had three good chances and didn't take one. I would have played Rooney up front against Costa Rica just to see how he did.

I don't like Rooney but he's in with a shout,

I like Cahill don't understand the stick he's been getting,

sterling has a great future. Probably my top 3.

Worst 3

Don't understand why jagielka gets near the team he's woeful.

Even Johnsons assist he over ran it we need a better option.

Hart didn't really impress
