Sean St Ledger was released by Orlando City. W

By waiving St. Ledger, the club opens up an international slot for Spanish defender David Mateos, who was signed earlier in the week, but who was "expected in the coming weeks" according to a club release, as he works his way through the visa process. St. Ledger seemed to be favored over Hines, having started the last five MLS matches and 14 of the 15 appearances he's made this season.

Why St. Ledger instead of Hines? St. Ledger requires an international slot, whereas Hines does not. In addition, Ledge is 30 years old, three years Hines' senior. The difference in cost is negligible, as St. Ledger's base salary was $124,992, compared to Seb's base of $108,576. There is, however, a bigger gulf in their guaranteed money ($147,492 for St. Ledger and $109,826 for Hines).

Max Gradel in talks with Bournemouth.

"Premier League newcomers Bournemouth are closing in on the signing of St Etienne forward Max Gradel.

The Ivory Coast international, 27, had a loan spell with the Cherries in the 2007-08 season and is undergoing a medical with the south coast club.

Gradel began his career at Leicester and, after a loan spell at Leeds, moved to Elland Road permanently in 2010.

He joined St Etienne 18 months later and was their leading scorer in Ligue 1 last season with 17 goals."

Goalscoring winger - and we didn't want him! If Pearson had played him more often instead of hugging the guy then leaving him on the sidelines maybe he wouldn't have wanted to leave. Asked why he was out of the side so often Gradel shrugged and said:  "I've no idea".

In the end I actually think we worked more on trying to make him a defender than a goalscorer but then we've been pretty awful at developing wingers for years.

Schluppy's only the latest example. If anyone takes the time to teach him to shoot calmly - and we keep getting men forward across the width of the pitch - he'll be getting 17-goals a season too.

Matt Mills, Matty Fryatt, and Jack Hobbs playing for Forest tonight - would be Hamer too if they weren't as financially stable as Greece.

...and Ian Holloway seems to be in the studio.

I didn't think Fryatt was playing?
