Aus Fox Posted 28 September 2015 Share Posted 28 September 2015 I think if he doesn't get 40 this season at that level he will be disappointed. Though a season like this may give him the confidence in front of goal to move ahead and start fulfilling some of his early potential.
Alf Bentley Posted 28 September 2015 Share Posted 28 September 2015 Karanka singles out Nugent as "the reflection of the team": http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/13787620.Aitor_Karanka_saves_praise_for_Middlesbrough_striker_David_Nugent/ "Karanka is usually reluctant to reserve special praise for individuals, but he made an exception for Nugent. 'The score is not a fair reflection of the game. But David Nugent is the reflection of the team,' said Karanka of his £4million signing from Leicester City, who has scored three goals in five starts this season. “He’s a player who has arrived a month ago and is settling in perfectly. He’s a fighter on the pitch, and he transmits his power and his energy to everybody. We have Kike, we have Stuani, we have Fabbrini, we have Stewart Downing, we have 20 players all ready to play. David’s character is a reflection of the character of the team'.” Pleased to see Nuge doing well there as he's always had a top attitude. Not surprised, though. Always thought that deal could be a good one for both clubs, not just us: if Nuge helps Boro to promotion, £4m will be peanuts.

Agree nothing Cambiasso did was in itself spectacular but he was given a purely defensive role in front of the centre backs. Apparent on tv that his positioning, anticipation, interceptions and covering were superb.
