Deeney came on Watford as a sub in their friendly yesterday...... incidently hasn't yet scored in pre season.

QPR rumours could have some legs, Rednapp bemoaning on SSN last night his lack of striking options

Please just goto QPR and join the rest of their overpaid has beens. Vydra also bagged loads for Watford and was shit at WBA. Deeney isn't premier league quality either.

Vardy's wasn't a one off incident, he went through a phase of getting into quite a few scraps outside nightclubs in Sheffield and this was the one that he finally got sent down for. The wearing the tag was after he had come out of prison (don't know how long he served).

The birth of his daughter was a big part of him sorting himself out and applying himself with his football. That said, he's an example of the motivation it can serve having been in a situation such as his and Deeney's - looks like Deeney has changed for the better too which is why I wouldn't count his discretions against him.

Quite. Deeney and Vardy are no Marlon King.

He'll be bemoaning their central defensive options soon enough. He is a clown.

he will then do an interview and say he won't be signing anymore players and then bring in 5 new players!

Met up with my contact today for a pint and a ploughman's at lunchtime.

Leicester's bid is all over. I mentioned before that they had Friday COB to sort themselves out. They started calling with an hour to go. Didn't want to let James go and although Vardy was willing and ready, King had refused point blank.

They wouldn't budge on James, although we told them that's the only way the deal's going through. They kept calling with crazy ideas like loan deals and half the money now and half next year. Nani said it was all a lot of "foolish nonsense" and you could see that he was losing patience with them. I've mentioned previously that the Watford side considered them very unprofessional and amateurish. In fact they even gave the members of the Leicester side humourous nicknames (eg "Asterix the Gaul' for one big fat one with a moustache and in a too small suit and "Old Man Steptoe" for a little grubby elderly one with frayed cuffs on his shirt).

Anyway, he eventually lost it completely with them shouted something like "Vai a farti fottere, puttana!" in Italian and slammed the phone down. Refused to take any more calls from them after that.

Deeney himself wasn't impressed with their management team and also mentioned a reluctance to spend the coming season in a relegation fight - especially since
bigger teams like
Everton, Spurs, West Ham,
QPR and Burnley
are also courting him. He felt that he might become a scapegoat if/when they're struggling at the bottom by Christmas, because of the deep-seated bitterness still felt by Leicester fans at the shattering blow that goal dealt to their ambitions.

Although he didn't say much when the deal fell through, he seemed pretty jovial and smiling. Of course he did his tweet later about 'not going anywhere'. My mate said he got the impression Deeney was quite pleased he wasn't going there.

I'm told no Sherlock.

They were all English provincial. They didn't speak any languages except English and of course, that with a Leicester accent that our side sometimes found difficult to understand. They took Alec Chamberlain (the goalkeeping coach) with them on one meeting up in Leicester, so that he could translate any parts they couldn't understand because of the local "twang" in the voice.

Anyway, it was a meeting that didn't go well. It was one of the hottest afternoons that we've had here last week and there was no air con in the Leicester offices. They brought in a big plate of curled ham sandwiches that must have been sitting in the sun for hours - all curled at the edges and the ham was like hard and cracked.

The old man Steptoe one kept thrusting the plate under their noses and shouting "Eat! Eat!". The Asterix the Gaul one polished off most of the plate on his own anyway. Alec was the only one from our side who took a sandwich and only to be polite. He left it on the paper party plate though and didn't eat it.

Then they brought out some tea and another tray with some sliced-up supermarket Battenburg cake on it. Thought it quite the treat apparently and both got stuck into it as soon as it was put down in front of them.

The Watford side found ti quite repugnant and were uncomfortable, so when it became clear that there wasn't going to be a deal there and then, they made their excuses and left.

Right... This guy is surely a WUM

Said plenty of times he wasn't in our plans since we signed Ulloa and that disabled on the Watford forum needs to get out of his house and get a life. He's talking absolute shite.

I rate Troy Deeney but I don't think he is better than what we have and we should only go for him if NP is offloading someone else. While I'm here I must say that I will be pleased if we didn't get Frazier Campbell for the same reasons as Deeney.
