I'll be disappointed if we do end up getting him because that money could have been spent so much more wisely. Oh who? People seem to think the money quoted for deeney could be better spent but fail to offer examples. I'll also reiterate a previous post of mine. If the club sanction the purchase and NP gets the player, then clearly the club can afford it and Nige wants deeney. If that's the case then it'll be considered good business.

Did you sleep through our promotion? We are in the prem and Watford stayed down how are they our rivals? This place gets more like the twilight zone every day. People putting hope we don't get Campbell when he has gone to Palace already. Also someone asking if we should go for Remy after he failed his medical. FFS can't we just sign Messi and be done with it all.

It wasn't a serious comment, some of their forum made out that we are rivals (probably taking the piss) and how we are still so upset about how good their squad is compared to ours and Deeney's goal last May.

Suggests the chairman is doing the business rather than Redknapp himself - is that the way everyone works now? Austin would be first choice there playing up front on his own..so Deeney could only be a sub.

Established premier league strikers generally only play for the top teams and everyone else makes do with what is left. I wouldn't pay more than £7m for Deeney though
