CameronLFC Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 They've got 2 decent strikers who will start - so Troy would be 3rd choice at best there. Well, they're in the Europa League, aren't they? So I guess they'd want a bigger squad so it's not a big stretch to imagine that they might want him. And as has been said, Jelavic and Long aren't that amazing that Deeney couldn't take one of their places.
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 I wouldn't be so sure... the records of Long and Jelavic are pretty average to shit. Can see Hull going down this year... 37 points last season masked by the FA Cup final (only played one PL team en route). Some bloke at work was waxing off about their signings saying they will be top 8! Tom Ince who couldnt get in Palace's side and £7m for Snodgrass who was junk at Norwich (he's a myth of a player, few goals or assists if you actually look at his stats). Shane Long is another - he only ever got double figures twice in his life and the first was 2010/11. His league goals ratio is about 1 in 4 over 10 seasons and he's played 4 of those in the Championship. Jelavic has scored 14 goals in his last 70 club games!
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 if you trawl through his posts on their forum they are genuinely some of the funniest things you can possibly read! He's got to be their version of lcfcliam!!! My personal favourite is Steptoe saying "Ok, tell Troy we will sell Knockheart!" Whats his name I need further reading
Super_horns Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Fair points - both started well at their previous clubs but went off the boil.

I have actually been quite impressed with who they have signed so far....
mozartfox Posted 7 August 2014 Posted 7 August 2014 Shall we start a new thread about Hull's chances of survival?

Double figures is a bit of a myth really, not necessary for bottom half teams. From what I heard and read Long and Jelavic worked well together.

theessexfox Posted 8 August 2014 Posted 8 August 2014 I think striker would be one of the last areas I'd look at strengthening.
