AKCJ Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Don't fall for that one, they make out they are on the wind up as an excuse. You're joking?
GingerrrFox Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Any thoughts on what might possibly happen? I am still quietly confident that Slimani will sign but it's not a sure bet. I also hear Nigel is keen on another midfielder, a player from Osasuna was being scouted by the club when they played Notts County last week.

We had scouts at Osasuna games last season as well.

Haven't we been linked with him somewhere.
Ric Flair Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Raoul Loe plays for them. Haven't we been linked with him somewhere. Yes. Might explain Pearson's comments about players being available now that weren't earlier in the summer.
VLC86 Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Troy Deeney is likely to start the season with Watford after interested clubs failed to match the club’s valuation for the striker, Sky sources understand Roughy translates to 'shit, have we actually turned down £7.5 mil, let's release a statement to encourage another bid' Doesn't mean shit, from his tweet a few weeks ago about 'the good news' I would suggest he is keen on a crack at the prem.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Bloke's clearly just trying to have a laugh. Wasn't he the one about the dry sandwiches one of their lot took to be polite but never ate it? Actually quite funny, can't imagine anyone on their boards take him seriously, worrying if they do.
GingerrrFox Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Yes. Might explain Pearson's comments about players being available now that weren't earlier in the summer. Loe is a player that Nigel has liked for some time and Steve Walsh has been scouting him for at least a year. However Francisco Silva also plays for them and is on our radar, pretty sure they are both being looked at.
Soar Fox Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Both defensive midfielders. Certainly a position I'd like us to strengthen.
jayfox26 Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Still can't believe fans will take Ulloa, but not Deeney as well, who has a better scoring record. 25 goals last season, more than Vardy, Nugent & Ulloa, but I don't want him because he has "bad attitude". Get bloody real, pathetic from some fans. ulloa was injured for some of the season, but you make a good point about him scoring more than Vardy and Nuge. He was also playing in a weaker team that probably created less chances than we did!
VLC86 Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Latest from the Watford forum OK, so as promised, here’s the latest. Steptoe caved completely this morning. Agreed to the Vardy/James/4m deal in its entirety. Crumbled like dust after being left to stew for the weekend. Nani said he was very quiet and cowed and willing to agree to just about anything we asked of them. After he finished speaking with him, Nani was joking that he reckoned he could have taken them for another 500k without too many problems. So the deal’s all agreed now. The only problem is Deeney’s terms and wages. I mentioned before, he’s not keen to go there and doesn’t rate their chances of staying up and is worried about being scapegoated. My mate didn’t know his exact wage demands, but he does confirm that Deeney wants to be far and away the highest Leicester wage earner. He’s also demanded certain guarantees regarding a regular starting spot and wants the formation and tactics built around him. Finally he’s demanding that Knockhart leaves the club before he’ll go there. Says he doesn’t like him, doesn’t get on with him and can’t play alongside him. Steptoe’s gone away to think about it. Of course I’ll update as I hear more. (P.S. One other piece of info my mate told me was about Schmeicel, their goalkeeper. I mentioned before that one of the goalkeeper coaches (Alec Chamberlain) went to some of the meetings to translate. Anyway, whilst up there he met up with a lad called Mike, who’s the keeping coach up there at Leicester (apparently they only have one!). Alec says that this Mike told him he’s got the easiest job in the world. He says Schmeicel is so egotistical and big-headed that he’ll accept no coaching whatsoever. When he tried he just said “I already know everything about goalkeeping. Much more than you. Papa taught me.” Then turned his back and walked off. Apparently he now cold-shoulders this Mike chap and won’t even speak to him. He says he’s given up and just does a bit now and then with the reserve and youth goalies.) This is top stuff! If this was posted here about a Watford player you would all be creaming your pants. Stop taking everything written on an Internet forum as gospel.
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Both defensive midfielders. Certainly a position I'd like us to strengthen. Spot on Walshy... I have no idea why we're even banging on about Deeney. We have our strikers surely? Other areas need strengthening far more IMO.

We need a new central midfielder of some sort, preferably a defensive one as Walshy said.

Babylon Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Spot on Walshy... I have no idea why we're even banging on about Deeney. We have our strikers surely? Other areas need strengthening far more IMO. It's suddenly 2013 all over again.
Corky Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 It's suddenly 2013 all over again. He is right, for once.

Yes other areas may need strengthening but you do realise you can scout and make bids for more than one player at a time.
jayfox26 Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Wow. Just, wow. this is amazing! I love these stories. This guy really does have a fantastic Imagination. Imagine the uproar if it was true and we gave them james, vardy and £4m in exchange for Deeney and then sold Knockaert and had Deeney as our highest earner.
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 Wake up Col and get with it your in the Deeney thread to start with. Would you like me to explain a little more for you? Shut up Welly..
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 August 2014 Posted 4 August 2014 It's suddenly 2013 all over again. Deja vu pervades nearly all your posts IMO. Successive years under different managers. He is right, for once. Once! Meh..
