kingcarr21 Posted 27 November 2014 Posted 27 November 2014 We have been a shadow of the side we were, Rodgers has become far too stubborn. To continue to play Gerrard and Johnson is worrying, Mignolet shouldn't be playing but that is simply because there is no other goal keeper. His in game management is just as worrying, to not bring Coutinho or Lallana on last night for Gerrard and Lambert was baffling to say the least, invited Ludogorets on to us and to defend deeply, seeing as we can't pissing defend is laughable. I'm not going to start calling for his head, I do think Brendan Rodgers is the man to lead us but he really needs to sort himself out and stop being loyal to players and hoping they can just turn their terrible form around. Gerrard needs to be used sparingly now, just like Mourinho did with Lampard and Ferguson did with Scholes, Gerrard doesn't have to start EVERY game now for Liverpool. He should be starting 1 in 3 if that, coming on to see a game out with 20 to go. I also think Rodgers would benefit from Gerrard on the sideline, none of Rodgers, Pascoe or Mike Marsh have the greatest amount of top level experience, Gerrard would be a good voice from the sideline in Rodgers ear. Just like Carragher was in his last season. Anyway, last night.. Wasn't a great performance but put to end our losing run, nobody stood out apart from Sterling and again maybe Toure, the only man who actually defends for us. Destiny is in our own hands, beat Basle and we are through. Should make Anfield one of them nights a week on Tuesday. I'll be in the away end this coming Tuesday so if any of you want to throw coins at me then I'll give you a wave. Good summary. Im sure you will get back to winning ways when you come to the KP. Look at Newcastle after they played us. Were always the team that others beat to end there own bad runs. I do wonder if the Liverpool fans will turn on Rodgers. It just seems that Suarez and Sturridge carried the team abit last season and now without them its shown how average Liverpool are. Then again confidence goes a long way. Couple of good results and it wouldnt surprise me to see Liverpool go on another good run like last season. Will be interesting to see if Rodgers lasts the season.

Takes an awful lot for Liverpool fans to turn on the manager, Hodgson is the only man in my lifetime I think where the fans have turned on the manager and you can understand why. Sturridge is such a massive loss to us this season, the last time he played was the last time we looked a good side, 3-0 away at Spurs and we were fantastic. Since then? Nothing. Not an outstanding performance since, a good performance in 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid is probably as good as it has got. I don't think Fenway will get rid of Rodgers this season, I think maybe in the summer that could be the end of him if fourth place hasn't been achieved. A trophy may save him but I doubt it.
AKCJ Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 lol ****ing up all of my bets in one fell swoop but it's just comedy gold. Win/win.
Unabomber Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 lolerpool living up to their name. Basil playing some great football too, who is their boss?
Unabomber Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Arsenal were the ones I didn't fancy tonight, Wenger doing a job as per it seems.
RowlattsFox Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Strange yet brilliant goal by Ransey. Weird strike of the ball.
Bert Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 The energy that Suarez gave Liverpool last season is even more clear to see now he's left. Lambert's a decent domestic striker but that's it. Gerrard can't do it all in his own anymore and Liverpool just seem devoid of ideas.
AKCJ Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Just realised this is a Paulo Sousa team. They're so good to watch, why couldn't he have done this with us!?
Unabomber Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 oh blimey that Ramsey goal wow very very nice.
AKCJ Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Jesus! He must have a foot like a traction engine.
MC Prussian Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Liverpool have a very sluggish and careless attitude about them.
Corky Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Basle have been excellent, Anfield resembling the KP more than the famed European cauldron, fans getting on the players' backs quite a lot.
Stevosevic Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Basle have been excellent, Anfield resembling the KP more than the famed European cauldron, fans getting on the players' backs quite a lot. Our ground is very average and pretty normal for modern day football - good days and bad days. The atmosphere at the bigger clubs gets boosted when really they are all pretty average. You see quiet games at Liverpool, Man City, Spurs etc... regularly on TV.
Corky Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Just realised this is a Paulo Sousa team. They're so good to watch, why couldn't he have done this with us!? We just tried to keep possession without going anywhere + appalling defending = lack of goals scored, lots conceded, plenty of defeats. Basle tonight have pressed well, won the ball, got forward quickly and moved the ball around at pace. Totally different set-up and good value for their lead. This side knocked Man United out three years ago and doubled Chelsea last season, they're a decent team.
MC Prussian Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Just realised this is a Paulo Sousa team. They're so good to watch, why couldn't he have done this with us!? Because he was too naïve, overhyped and inexperienced back then? Certainly has learnt his lesson so far, kept his head down and refined his tactics. It also helps when the club and its fans have faith in and patience with you as a manager.

Will be funny if Liverpool effectively get put out by a Swiss team given the ranting and raving Grandad has done about Swiss football on here

Unabomber Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Bizarre substitutions by Rogers Looks like absolute desperation.
Tom17LCFC Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 so liverpool need the win to qualify and rodgers takes off their only recognised striker at half time hahahahaha brilliant.
StanSP Posted 9 December 2014 Posted 9 December 2014 Why take your only striker off when you need to score and win. Rodgers has lost the plot.
