Fourth official should be discounted as a good source now, been wrong too many times. No doubting the good info years back, but not now.

He seems more interested now in getting sign up bonuses from bookies and promoting other people's twitter for money. He has worked hard in getting all these followers and is now trying to cash in from being right with certain information a few years back. Gone right down in my book

June 27th:

'My career for the time being is still in Europe,' Cambiasso said to www.fcinternews.it.

'I have several proposals from big clubs but as a sign of respect for them I will not reveal the negotiations that my father and my brother are undertaking.'

The 33-year-old midfielder has ruled out returning to play in Argentina for the time being.

Cambiasso was strongly linked with a return to River Plate, the club he played for in the 2001-02 season.

'My future is very far from Argentina,' Cambiasso said.

This. I've stopped listening now they've got nothing to offer.

In the Mercury now and a deal is well and truely on, it looks lije its now down to the player. This signing will surely give us that vital experience and shore up the spine of the team. But i cant understand why we havent tried to get this deal done earlier in the summer?

If what he says is true, he wanted to come to England and I suspect he has been trying to find a top eight team who would agree to him starting most of their games.

I often wondered if Nigel Pearson had the pulling power to bring in a big named player ... this will put a few doubters to bed if he succeeds

Watford it is for him then!!!!!!!!

Perhaps we will just sign him so we can then use him as a makeweight with Drinkwater, James, Knockaert, Nugent & Vardy plus £35 million to sign Deeney? lol

How many other ex-Real Madrid players have we had?

Laurie Cunningham?

Maybe we did. Nigel said something about deals that were dead earlier in the summer coming back alive

What we've learnt from today is the level of hostility that comes when one person disagrees with the consensus, argues their corner and doesn't back down. Also responds to piss-taking rather than shirking away from it, then gets slammed for so doing.

Whether it be Sven, Beckford, QPR or Esteban bloody Cambiasso I've continued to suggest that things may not be as clear cut as people make out AND generally tried to do so with a degree of humility and a sense of humour.

But enough is enough. I don't want to be a part of it no more.

So I'm off.

I hope that City do well this season and, as I've maintained, they are given time by us fans and this forum. To all those who have responded to some of my ideas and opinions with some agreement, debate and pleasantry, I thank you.

Adios amigos. Take care all.

So a restless night, mumbling Cambiasso in my sleep, and this deal isn't done. I don't want to spend my weekend looking on here every 5 mins

Get on with it

Think of the shirt sales :P

That alone will dent his contract funds -£500k in shirt sales meaning that if we have offered him £5mill over 2 years it'll be less in truth.

Really want this to go through.

What transfers get sorted out in the middle of the night though?

As exciting as the prospect is let's not forget there's still a fairly large chance that we won't sign Esteban Cambiasso.
