Kitchandro Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Who gives a shit whether Middlesbrough is a better place? The only thing that matters is that Leicester has the better football club that is competing at a higher level. Since when were Middlesbrough showing an interest in Cambiasso?!
jayfox26 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I still don't understand why people are arguing about whether Leicester is a nice city or not. This thread is about Cambiasso, if you want to discuss cities, set up a thread in the general chat section. As someone said earlier, if Cambiasso joined us, he doesn't have to live in Leicester. Liverpool and Man U players live in Cheshire and this will be the same across the country. So the whole argument about Citys is pointless and just clogging up a thread about potentially the biggest signing in the clubs history!
roblcfc84 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Guisborough? Good call but gone a bit down hill. Now great Ayton and stokesly are lovely
The Doctor Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Give me your reasons why Leicester is better than Middlesbrough? I have given my reasons why I think Middlesbrough is better. Just wouldn't mind to hear your view. Because middlesbroughs an industrial town that's been left behind completely - the city centre is a complete and utter dump, while Leicester's is just a run-of-the-mill area - nowt special, but completely inoffensive. As for the surrounding area - Yorkshire is a lovely place, particularly the moors, but Leicestershire is quite a good rural area. Seriously though, I think you've probably been wandering around with your eyes closed for years if you think Leicester is a crap place. It's a bog standard city, there's nothing incredibly rubbish about it like Middlesbrough, Barnsley etc.
BirminghamFox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Reading these posts is why I wanted Derby to win the playoffs!
Guest Bilo Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 To be fair, Middlesbrough's got Teesside Tintin.

I literally only ever go to the ground or straight to my dads in Rothley so can't comment on the centre, it's been years...
Rob1742 Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I've checked several guides of England's/Britain's worst towns from papers such as the Guardian and Middlesbrough came up twice on about 5 of them. Leicester, funnily enough, was never listed. So you have not been. You have read a guide and think a place is better. Fantastic.
Corky Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Look, all we need to know is that if he joins he's a legend, fantastic signing, bargain and if he goes to QPR he's a money grabbing, Harry loving prat. And he was shit all along.

And he was shit all along. I won't ever say he's shit. I will be disappointed if he goes to QPR but I'd still want him to do well as I've got so much respect for what he's achieved in his career. I do honestly think it will be down to money though if he goes there. I may be being biased but I feel we have so much more to offer than QPR.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Still nobody is telling me about these wonderful places in Leicester that there are that I keep missingThe. Reality is chief that there will obviously be bits of any town or city that are better and or worse than othersIt really is all down to personal choice Mine is that I love living in Leicestershire but I am also educated and travelled enough to realise there are many places the globe over that are no doubt lovely to live in People who slag off Leicester / Leicestershire can go and do that in the wonderful places they live. Entitled to their own opinions they are but wrong to slag off Leicestershire IMHO
Finnaldo Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 So you have not been. You have read a guide and think a place is better. Fantastic. Well yes, I think a guide someone's been paid to write give an accurate perception of the topic, as did the 4 others I read.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I'd still want him to do well as I've got so much respect for what he's achieved in his career. gay

I don't either, was just doing the traditional football fan opinion depending on whether they sign or not I really hope he joins as it would be a statement of intent.
truebluethroughandthrough Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Yes it does, I know both places well and given the reasons. What is your knowledge of Middlesbrough and the surrounding I have had the misfortune of visiting the ghastly city on several occasions, all of them through following city. On one particular occasion I had to take a number two. Now, I'm not normally fussy about where I dump, but after a bloke came out the pub toilet saying there was shite on the floor, I decided to go in the cafe next door instead. A female Les Dawson greeted me from behind her sweaty tabbard with a grunt. I politely asked if I could use the facilities. As I entered, a smell that only Satan's dog could live with hit me in the face, and instantly I vomited.... I wanted to get out out quick but was now so desperate, it was either THAT toilet or my pants. It was obviously a crouching not touching sort of dump. The relief hit me.... I looked around at what can only be described as a third world shanty town shithouse. It was so bad that I was overcome with a wave of guilt. There was absolutely no way I was leaving a part of me In that place. So I wrapped the little fella in tissue and took it somewhere better...... Which would be anywhere. How's that for an experience.
Kent Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Would be interesting to see how this threads stacks up with others in terms of activity after 72 hours of being started.
lgfualol Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 He'll love Leicester, cheap card shops, pound stores and charity shops all down the high street. He'll save some money and will get hounded by a homeless man for a quid.

This thread is now officially a disgrace. At one point this was about the possibility of us signing Esteban Cambiasso. How the mighty have fallen.
MHC Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 If his priority was to live somewhere really nice he would have gone to Dubai on 100 grand a week, but he hasn't because he wants to play football. I know for a fact that if the first thing he asked the club was money related Nigel would have pulled out of the deal, but he hasn't so it can't be about Cambiasso having "one last pay-day". It's quite obvious the challenge of something a bit different is attracting Cambiasso, it seems he might want to try going out of his comfort zone. From successful title challengers to newly promoted enigma, that says to me he has a determined attitude motivated by the thrill of success. This guy is not a mercenary, anyone of his quality would have been snapped up immediately if that was the case and I guarantee he's had offers from elsewhere. Obviously not been presented with the right challenge, until now.

Guest Bilo Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Still nobody is telling me about these wonderful places in Leicester that there are that I keep missing Bradgate Park, New Walk, the Guildhall, the National Space Centre, Curve, De Montfort Hall, Abbey Pumping Station, The Little Theatre, Newarke House, Abbey Park, Jewry Wall Museum and Belgrave Hall. That's before we go into some of the lovely countryside that's already been mentioned. There are far, far worse places in the country than Leicester. I genuinely have no idea why you seem to think it's basically Gaza with worse weather compared to the oasis of beauty and culture that is Middlesbrough.
hackneyfox Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 Middlesbrough beats Leicester I'd imagine Hackney is also miles ahead of us as well? Too bloody right it is.
Finnaldo Posted 10 August 2014 Posted 10 August 2014 I'd like to wholeheartedly apologise for extending the Middlesbrough argument. This thread turns people into monsters.
