So if rumours are to be believed QPR are now all over him.

Are we having the same problems that we had the last time we were in the prem? Struggling to convince top players to move to the Leicester/East Midlands area? It's the elephant in the room but it is a big issue for us unfortunately.

Typical really illiterate Arry sees us going for a player and he jizzes all over himself he's like a little kid sees us going for something or someone and he wants one !!

Arry your a total tw@ go do one he's going to be our player just look forward going back to the championship you fool !!

Am I being sensationalist or does anybody else have the feeling that this is possibly a really crucial 24 hours in our season ?

I don't know but it does feel pretty important. Could well make a big difference for us for sure.

Just wish QPR would butt their fvcking noses out!

More a question than statement but don't a lot of footballers commute theses day? I got the impression a lot don't live in the City of the team they play for. I know I would be more than happy to commute to most places for 30k a week or more.

Yeah I remember it being said when the other players were watching SSN and the subsequent partying when promotion was confirmed, GTF and Hammond were back with their families up North and South respectively

Yep, example is Pearson lives in Sheffield I believe and Vardy did when he joined us I think, Mathieu Manset was my neighbour when he played at Coventry (its actually Michael Morrisons apartment but he has been letting it out since he moved to Charlton).

London is only 100 miles down the M1 so a player could easily live somewhere inbetween like Milton Keynes and still be only an hour or so from Leicester.

I would think if this is going to happen it will be tomorrow. NP would want to get him bedded in, assess his fitness and get him ready for first team action as soon as possible. Reading between the lines it appears negotiations are at an advanced stage and we won't be messed about. Fingers crossed as this would be a phenomenal coup for our club.

I have a players official handbook from Sousa's time at the club, and the rules stipulated that players live within a certain commute of the ground, I can't recall what it was off the top of my head. Obviously things can change, but I guess there may still be restrictions in place.

In terms of this deal, I think the QPR speculation is entirely that, with no evidence to suggest otherwise. They do have some previous for this type of player, but other than that it's pure conjecture, unless you believe the Sunday People. We want this badly but fear the worse, let's try and relax because we can't influence the outcome.

That's what Schlupp does isn't it?

I don't get why everyone is so convinced that he would choose London over leicester(shire). There are plenty of people who don't like the big city lifestyle - even those with significant money.

He's reaching the end of his career, so it's quite possible he wants somewhere quieter to settle down which would be more family friendly than the big city (he has a young daughter). Particularly if he's looking at getting into coaching in England, then he'll possibly want something more homely than a place in London.

People have all sorts of different preferences for their lifestyle, so it'd be ridiculous to assume that we've automatically lost out with regards to location.

I'm assuming that he's lived in Milan so he may not mind the big city lifestyle.

Agre with this. Also if you add to it the fact that he has likely lived in and around big cities (Madrid and Milan) for over a decade, a more rural and secluded move might be his preference. The Leicestershire countryside does have a charm about it he would not get in London.

Besides I think we're reading too much into the whole location thing. A player of Cambiasso's experience and quality with his current CV will almost certainly move for footballing reasons. His successes at previous clubs probably indicates that thinking. We can merely wait for his decision now anyway.

If QPR are genuinely interested then it's over. Remember this is the club who paid Bobby Zamora 70k a week last season so they might be able to stretch a few quid over 30k

Arry will reckon that he got good vales from that 70k pw gives zamora sent them back up of course...

I thought that too, but things change. He's been there, done that as it were, and it's quite possible that now he wants a quieter lifestyle as he comes to the end of his playing career.

I may be wrong - after all, this is all just conjecture (on both sides) - but I'm just saying that we can't rule ourselves out on factors like this.

If he wants a city lifestyle, then we've lost out on this front, but there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that that's what he wants for himself at this stage in his career/personal life, so people shouldn't assume.

Care to expand or you just waffling shit do defend someone who started it by posting like a bit of a dick, rubbishing others comments.

Don't get fooled by his "I was just stating my opinion" crap, no he wasn't. If he'd done just that none of that would have happened.

Have you actually read the whole thread, or just chipping in half way through?

No, Iv'e read the whole thread, and  stand by what I said.

Col was treated shabbily. He was merely standing by what he said and believed.

Like I said earlier, "a flock of vultures" or if you prefer "mafia" At the end of the day, bullying tactics, which quite frankly is totally unacceptable.

Even then that is assuming that a London club wants him, of which there is little evidence to suggest.

Nigel Pearson confirmed Leicester City's interest in signing Esteban Cambiasso

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has confirmed he is looking to sign former Real Madrid and Inter Milan midfielder Esteban Cambiasso.

City are currently in talks with the 33-year-old free agent’s representatives over a possible move to the King Power Stadium ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign next weekend.

Cambiasso is the most decorated Argentinian footballer in history, with a career that includes a Champions League winners medal with Inter under Jose Mourinho in 2010.

However, Cambiasso has never played in England and, if City were to sign him, it would almost certainly make him the club’s highest-paid player.

Pearson confirmed the interest in bringing Cambiasso to the club on a free transfer but was unhappy with the person who leaked the story in the first place.

“It’s like most things with deals you might be linked with, I am not going to say we are not (interested) because we are,” said Pearson after his side’s 1-0 victory over Werder Bremen.

“But what is disappointing is that some clown somewhere down the line has leaked information which is very sensitive.

“I like to do business in the right way and make sure all parties’ interests are looked after for the right reasons and for some reason some balloon head has decided to leak it and that is entirely up to them.

“I don’t know (if we will sign him) because I don’t know the intentions of the person who leaked the information.

“If people want to cause a problem for us or anyone else, it is up to them. There are always going to be deals that can’t be done and, if they can’t, you try to do it in a way so that the interests of the individuals are not compromised. It always irritates me when someone wants to try to move the goalposts.

There were also some injury worries for the City boss ahead of the opening game of the Premier League season next weekend as winger Marc Albrighton limped off with an injury in the first half.

Pearson confirmed post-match that the former Aston Villa man had picked up a groin injury and was to be assessed.

That takes City’s injury list to four as Matthew Upson is set to undergo surgery on a foot injury, Anthony Knockaert was on crutches with his leg in a brace after picking up the injury at Rotherham on Tuesday, while Jamie Vardy is “making process” with the tight thigh that saw him brought off as a precaution at Preston.

the goal posts moved still has me questioning the transfer I'm still thinking it won't happen
