Micky Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 So perhaps the insiders (Qwerty et al.) were correct when they said the deal was done. It appears that at the last minute, people have starting moving the goal posts. I am not fussed either way. If he signs, then great we will get a very good player but if he doesn't then move on to another target. There are lots of very good players out there.
roblcfc84 Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 I am sure an official source will clarify this one way or the other today or tomorrow, have to say, I am very surprised that NP is stilltrying for a deal. We all know NP doesn't mess around, so his stance on this deal is somewhat surprising. However, I know NP will get it right and this week I think we will see some quality added. Regardless of who is creating issues here, NP must have met the player and be confident he can play a major role or else he wouldn't let this drag on, look at how quickly we walked away from Campbell once the deal didn't suit.

I do tend to agree with you that I would have thought NP would have moved on to other targets by now which starts me to wonder why he is so hooked on this one, apart from the footballing reasons it coukd be that it is seen as a flagship signing to raise the status/profile of the club and it maybe that the owners are keen on this signing. NP did saying that who they are dealing with seems to be fluid, so I would be suprised if that is still the issue or money at this stage, and if the player is using us it's not gone very well for him. This all said I do have faith in NP and that he and the who ever is handling this will do what's right for the club and team but it is very very frustrating. Guess it would help everyone if that was sorted or that we received a update from the club. Still time will tell.
Itsthejoeker Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Does anyone not realise that the reason NP is still hanging around is because he really wants Cambiasso in a Leicester shirt? Unless someone else comes in for him, which they haven't really so far, he will sign for leicester. He won't want to be without a club next year.

Correct, he only has one offer on the table, and that's us. It's the flies in his ear not the player himself, I've got a feeling that it shall be resolved today.
Steven Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Yeee pull a couple from the Championship Liam Bridcutt from Brighton is a Pearson signing... What about Will Hughes, why is he still at Derby!? Lewis McGugan? James McArthur? The same player I saw coming on for Sunderland yesterday?
thybluefox Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Correct, he only has one offer on the table, and that's us. Itsthejoeker Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 I think your spot on about the flies in his ear - his agent will be telling him to hold out, dangerous game though. /conjecture And the fact his brother is his agent doesn't make things any easier, he has a lot more power than most agents would have in this case.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 The same player I saw coming on for Sunderland yesterday? Ahhhh didn't see the transfer to Sunderland. Either way, he's a Pearson type player ... But too late! Regardless, We need some strength in the middle. Yes King & Hammond are good back up but we could still do with some real class there.
Giggsy77 Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 I think your spot on about the flies in his ear - his agent will be telling him to hold out, dangerous game though. /conjecture Thing is though, is this transfer doesn't have to be done before the deadline, being a free agent, he can sign whenever. Which begs the queston, how long do we wait for him, surely if we say no thanks we force the issue. A take or leave it response to him would be the best way here, he then risks having no club at all. They agreed salary etc but then changed their demands, this sounds like he wants the move for the money, sad but true, no footballer plays for the love of the game anymore, they are more concerned with their pay packet. Rooney is on 300k a week, I wouldn't pay him 30k, he aint world class at all.

thybluefox Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Even if he signs today/tomorrow - how long is it going to be until he's fit? Certainly not going to be the quick solution needed for Sunday.
Rob1742 Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Being as we started to look at the Chile guy shows we probably knew this would be dead, or it was a way of moving this to its conclusion. No way would we have signed both.

I think though if you look at it from the viewpoint that he's in the autumn of his career, and while I'm sure he's already got a tidy sum in the bank I'm sure, will still be looking for that final payday - you can almost see why he's holding out. Almost.
Buzzell Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 It's only a matter of time now that we see the picture of Esteban standing next to Redknapp holding up a QPR shirt.
smudger63 Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 This transfer has got QPR, and more especially Harry Redknapp written all over it! The fact they've made a poor start means he will just keep collecting players, until the window shuts, in the hope that some of them will work out.

Cambiasso has been available to approach for over a month now, and is supposedly interested in playing in London. If QPR were bothered, they'd have launched a bid by now.
glen parva fox Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 According to The Mirror he walked out of meeting due to money!
KFS Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 According to The Mirror he walked out of meeting due to money! Must've been a Skype meeting then. Sick of all this transfer whispering. Just sign someone ffs.
SlaneyLCFC Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 According to The Mirror he walked out of meeting due to money! If it's come down to that then i think nige should seriously shitcan the idea of signing him.
skegness fox Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 I would love to see Cambiasso at the club but surely NP has other targets and if he is stalling due to money then lets move on. In my opinion we have a good enough side to stay in the premier league but not a good enough squad and time is running out to get decent players in
Vos Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 DAILY MIRROR: Esteban Cambiasso has walked out of talks with Leicester after a row over money.
ElusiveEd Posted 25 August 2014 Posted 25 August 2014 Jeez, If he signs for QPR (Or another club for that matter, but especially QPR) the abuse he's going to get when he plays us is going to be brutal.
