Dyer

Genuinely feel like crying, wish we could have had him in our side today

Why? We played without no wingers today.

A Dyer return would be the biggest mistake ever and nothing like the Drogba return.

Drogba left cos Hose A had gone and returned cos Hose A had returned.

Dyers only asset is his speed and at his age will go at any time the club deemed a year any more is a total gamble.

To bring him back in Jan would mean a 2 year contract the club will not take that risk or admit they were wrong.

If they do so they leave themselves wide open to agent demands.

They and NP would lose respect from the players.

A gamble they will never risk.

He was easy worth a two year deal probably Pearsons biggest mistake since arriving

Even though Pearson had nothing to do with the contract offer?! Jesus.

People act like Dyer didn't have the chance to stay here....

We do miss him, we attacked with pace last year and we've definitely lost a bit of that edge since his departure.

Worth remembering that he could have stayed though, it was his decision not to take the opportunity to play in the prem.

You presume it was Nigels choice.

Nige may have wanted to risk 2 yrs and could have been over ruled.

Giving Dyer a 3 year deal or whatever he wanted was the right thing to do, the issue is that we didn't sign a direct replacement.

Not me

Bert do you know if it was a straight 1yr on your bike or if it was see how you perform and you may get another yr?

I think he left as he wanted 2 certain years plus gambled on more football in the championship than he would get with us.

He did not get many games after Mahrez got his first start.

Not trying to be wise after the event, but Amalfitano would have been fantastic in a Leicester shirt. He must have been on the market having been available for loan to West Brom and we were competing with West Ham for the same targets this summer ie Cresswell, Diafra Sakho so the wages would have been roughly similar. A creative spark that i think is highly underrated.

Lloyd Dyer wouldnt have cut the mustard at Premiership level. Head down and run merchant.

Couldn't tell you mate to be honest.

I think he was more miffed at the fact that we offered Morgan 3 years and only offered Lloyd 1 and the fact he was our second longest serving player. I remember him saying that we have a policy to 30+ year old players just one year but Wes got 3.

I don't blame him for taking the 3 year contract at Watford but people need to realise he could've stayed here and the likelihood was that he would have got another offer when his new contract expired whether that be from us or another club.

No it was not his game was pure pace and at his age he could lose it very easy or one hamstring and he was finished.

Had his pace gone this year that extr yard or 2 everyone would have been why waste 3 years money on him when he is finished.

Nige and the DOF have had to sort out numerous stupid contracts and done a great job.

Then you want them to give 3yrs to Dyer who can't play week in week out for Watford (No disrespect) in the championship.

I seriously wonder why we've signed Albrighton.

Wondered at the time, it's the yearly 'let's check the out of contract list' free signing that ultimately fails.

I think the post you quoted, where he said the issue was not signing a replacement, suggests that the post was really not giving him what he wanted was the right thing, if you take the context of the post in its entirety.

Only looking from the outside in mate yes he could of stayed for a year but he wanted two. I don't care who's fault it was we should of offered him two. Also if I was gaffer l want a say on contracts extensions etc if not I'd leave simple

I don't and good luck to him.

But a return as some seem to want would not be good IMO.

Hind sight is a wonderful thing some gambles you take some you don't just like a new signing when you step up.

Nuge is not finished he may not be good enough at this level but he is not finished.

So you want Dyer back after he has gone to a bottom end of the table finish side last season and can not command a starting place.

But you think he is good enough for prem starts?
