NP isn't a bad manager but is he out of his depth? who knows all I know we have to be f**King careful, if we sack him, we don't want don't want some guff manager that will regress the club even further.

We need to beat the sides around to stand any chance of survival and we aren't doing that at all, premier league know how is a must and too many of our players don't have that at all which is a problem!!

You have to fear that with his approach recently he will lose the dressing room quickly if bad results continue. Changing the system every week, dropping and recalling players week in week out, even after some have played well, while those who have played badly and offered nothing seem untouchable (Schmeichel, De Laet, Nugent). Mahrez and Ulloa have every right to be pissed off at him today, especially Mahrez. God knows what Simpson must be thinking. Powell, Lawrence, Knockaert?

Can you remember when fans wanted Pardew out recently? Now look. Chopping and changing gets you nowhere.

 Especially the team every week?

Oh sorry it does, it gets you to perform poorly and eventually in with a good chance of relegation

Way too early to want him sacked. After what he has done for the club so far he deserves more than some fans calling for his head 10 games in. Tactics have been a bit questionable but let's see how we do against QPR and sunderland before panicking.

Hes obviously a good manager. We won the league. Now we are in a better league and teams that are better than us are beating us. Crazy stuff. Give it time we will improve. Like, you know, when we gave Pearson time. And we won the league.

The last manager we were tapping up while Nigel was in the job - when Nigel had reached his level in the Championship and couldn't take us any further because he's too stubborn - was Harry Redknapp. Let's not go back to the managerial merry-go-round cheers.

In recent weeks I think Nige has got it wrong but today I think his tactics was right, let's not forget it was a fortunate own goal for WBA that won them the game.

WBA have no width, hence why we played no wingers so we could stop their CM play and Was for Moore, defence seemed a lot more disciplined, how many times did we catch WBA offside?

If that had finished a draw then we would all be raving that it's a point and that it was a better performance and still unbeaten at home.

Soon as they scored they were always going to sit back and defend even though we never looked like scoring the whole game.

What I'm not liking at the minute is, he seems to be sticking with his favourites, players who got us promoted in the first place, yet not necessarily good enough for the Premier League.

De Laet, Konchesky, Drinkwater & Nugent have been more poor than good this season, yet he still sticks with them.

Chopping & changing from formation to formation will start confusing the players, then they won't know if there coming or going. He needs to stick to one or two formulas both at home & away from home & see where it takes us.

ATM it seems like he doesn't know what to do with this team, and despite being one of our best managers in our entire history, right now he looks like he has ran out of ideas.

I think it's dangerous to make the assumption that they're all as simple as you. :P

I'm really pissed of with Leicester at the moment, but even I wouldn't get rid of Nigel. Either we get relegated, in which case, I'd want him on our side anyway, or we stay up, in which case I'd want to keep him.

It has tarnished my NP love-in a little (just like our terrible run last time), but in the long run, he's still been fantastic. He has time to come good yet.

...but I don't think NP is the man for the job.

I appreciate the probability of absolute ridicule and abuse for this post. But it is my considered opinion, not reactionary but very considered.

Before anyone accuses me of knowing nothing about football etc etc, well firstly football is subjective so I don't even think that's a valid argument, but secondly like I am sure many of you I have played football to a decent standard, I am qualified coach etc.

The reason I think this is - NP reminds me of another premier league manager not physically or in terms of personality but in terms of one common trait - stubbornness. Arsene  Wenger.

The summer was poorly managed from start to finish. We had significant time to plan and build, and I believe and combination of NP approach and this truly naive wage cap ensured that we missed out on a number of targets. NP comments early on in the window that we wouldn't have heard of any of his targets proved to be either misdirection or over confidence in the clubs ability to secure certain players. The protracted pursuit of Esteban was to the detriment of other business, and as much fun as it is to have a legend at the club, not sure he is offering a huge amount at the minute.

Now I am not sure whether it is Ego, or miss placed loyalty or faith in his the players that got us up but it is clear the he is going to stick by certain players whether it is right for the team or not. The continued inclusion of Nugent is bewildering - I understand his role in the team but it simply not happening for him and hard work alone isn't enough. Other players have performed poorly on a number of occasions but still get in ahead of others who are yet to get a fair crack - we have players with PL experience or who have recently joined from PL clubs who are not even on the bench. Like Wenger I fear the more people say Hammond (or whoever) isn't good enough the more they will play - Sanogo springs to mind!

Secondly, I think tactically he has been proven to be out of his depth. Our success last year was built on consistency, consistency of formation and personnel. Yet this year we are continually changing a formation, the team looks unsettled and unclear on their role. 4 CM's today? I understand the diamond but few clubs pull it off but those that do have a genuine play maker at the point and players more mobile than ours on either side. The last 5 games have highlighted how poor the structure has been - putting Ulloa on the left a few games ago - bringing 3 CM's on at the same time - it just all seems so unfocused. Take today for example no width (or wide players) yet we continually tried to play it down the wings. The timing of substitutions is consistently late - we left it until 70 minutes today. No you could argue we were in a good period of play but that didn't yield a decent opportunity and we hadn't had a shot on target that I can recall.

I expected a tough season, I expected to lose many games - but I also expect that if the same 11 or so players struggle to get a result against Palace, a then struggling Newcastle, see out Burnley, West Brom and Swansea (although this was always going to be tough) that the manager will not simply put the same team out and shuffle the formation.

Southampton is a no lose situation as we are not expected to get anything so DS, MA, NP, AK all deserve a chance. For me the club is bigger than once man, I hope he gets it right but for me if we get nothing out of the next three games the club has to take a serious look at NP position.

Excellent post.

I think Nige needs to get back to basics. We did well last season because we attacked sides and were unrelentingly positive. He seems to be setting the side up to contain the opposition this season and we're crap at it.

We might take a hammering here and there but I honestly think we should be attacking teams because that's what we're good at.

This!

To play the system we used today we needed big performances from De Laet and Konch to overlap and offer width but both had very poor games yet again, they wasted the ball far too often.

It's our fullbacks which concern me the most right now, the centre halves look solid especially after seeing Waslewski's performance today. But our fullbacks constantly give the ball away which just puts pressure on the rest of the team.

Bring, MON back, or maybe Big Jock or Matt Gillies, oh wait a minute? The grass is always greener etc. We were never going to have anything but a tough season. We have little experience at this level and we need to learn how to live at this level. We might not learn quickly enough. Its tough shit but its reality.

Ha ha - another over reaction! It's a bad run of 5 games......if it stretches to 15 then we have a problem.

If it stretches to ten, let alone fifteen, then we'll be 4, 5 points adrift and it will be very hard to stay up. The last thing we need now is to be relaxed about our form.

I think the point is that just a few games from now we could be on the brink of a very desperate situation. I don't think that will happen but if it does then there will be some big question marks hanging over the manager.

Nigel Pearson is rightly our manager.

Not one posters or threads suggested differing tactics or player choice would of changed the situation.

Has he done alot wrong ..No, has he made mistakes sure he will admit to a few.

Is there a manager out there that would of done better with our present squad.

Would any other manager been able to entice better buys, to want to come to Leicester.

Ifs, buts, maybes, and knowalls who can post any troddle they wish to, would obviously be better choices for manager than Pearson, so I hope they all rush to the city offices on Monday and put in a manager and coach application, that will obviously save the disaster that is happening at Leicester, by telling everybody ' you dont understand anything about football by playing that formation with that choice of players' .

Maybe we should change things, for change sake, it does work sometimes, we should go for a new manager every 6 months, so these stupid managers eventually learn, they cant play around with Leicester fans. Why should we have patience, we have the right, we are all proven .arent we brilliant at EA its all in the game pc football manager games.!!?

Some of us know what we have posted, havent we all said we have coached at an high level, so we obviously know, Pearson is a poor tactician and cant manage at PL level....blah blah blah.
