Matt Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Good signings bags of experience, however I struggle to see why Pearson doesn't rate Hamer, when he's better than Kasper, who in my opinion is shit. I've +1ed that, however after thought I wouldn't go as far as saying Kasper is shit (That's your opinion and you're more than welcome to it), mine is that he's not that good, certainly not Premiership quality, and Hamer is as good if not better (I was sceptical after pre-season, but he's took his chance at stepped up to the plate). People claim Hamer's kicking isn't that good, but again i'd say his kicking is better than Schmeichel's, his distribution is awful, I mention it on a number of occasion's last season. I also can't see why Pearson wouldn't rate Hamer, unless it's a case of Kasper being one of his golden boys. Are we not making assumptions here? Maybe Schmeichel's out for longer than we thought and this is just a back up signing. There are other possibilities too. I don't claim to know the answer myself but I don't think you do either. Not if you believe an 'ITK'.
CosbehFox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Used to play with Nigel at Boro of course (they were both in the 1997 CCCFinal; Shwarzer missed the replay though) Hamer has impressed me to be honest, I think he's got bags of potential and could learn a lot from an experienced keeper like Shwarzer. More importantly - what about Conrad!?!?!? Conrad is out for months.
RizLCFC Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Hamer has looked better than Kasper so far. His kicking is crap but so was Kasper's. Thought his kicking improved v Liverpool.
MHC Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Pearson don't rate Hamer. What?!?! I happen to think he is actually pretty damn good and deserves to be first choice on merit. I'd say he has been pretty solid when he has played and has kept more clean sheets then Kasper and played less games, we can't drop the beard.
ScouseFox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 If hamer was called schmeichel and Kasper had a shit name there's no way they'd be the way round they are in the pecking order. There's very little in it and if anything so far this season hamer has been better at literally everything.
jammie82uk Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Thought his kicking improved v Liverpool. It actually got worse from Hull to Liverpool
jammie82uk Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 If hamer was called schmeichel and Kasper had a shit name there's no way they'd be the way round they are in the pecking order. jammie82uk Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I shouldn't even do this but read away; That means nothing seems like making a mountain out of a molehill to me We was all fuming with him after the Spurs game doesn't mean we don't rate him as a keeper
GingerrrFox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 He's been signed because Kasper and Conrad are both medium-long term injuries and if Hamer gets injured we are left with an unproven U21 GK in Smith. That's it.
ScouseFox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 If nige was fuming with hamer after Spurs I'm amazed Kasper is still alive after burnley
Buzzell Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I shouldn't even do this but read away; I don't see what Hamer has done wrong really? He's been a solid replacement for Kasper. Signing Schwarzer is a decent bit of business for us, his experience will be vital but surely he won't just stroll in and take Hamer's place? In Pearson we trust I suppose!
Matt Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 If nige was fuming with hamer after Spurs I'm amazed Kasper is still alive after burnley I know which one I was more pissed off with. As for the Tottenham goal, surely the wall splitting is at fault before Hamer?
LCFC FOX Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 What about Kasper when he threw the ball into the net against Donny? Or Weale when he lets a slow back pass go into the net? Hamer is solid and I highly doubt he wants him out because of one free kick that wasn't even that much of a mistake. That would of done a lot of keepers with the wall splitting like it did.
Alex_LCFC Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Or hamer completely crumble grank lampards goal for man city
Buzzell Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Pearson doesn't rate Hamer? Well neither did I until he came onto the scene, since Kasper got injured, and has been pretty solid since. I'd be very disappointed to see Schwarzer walk straight into the first team.
Callabinho Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I must admit Hamers distribution at time leaves a lot to be desired, but his allround goalkeeping is better than Kasper's, like a previous post said if he doesn't rate Hamer and was fuming after the Spurs game, he must hate Kasper, which he doesn't, so it doesn't make sense?
Buzzell Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I'm only the messenger He hasn't shagged Pearson's daughter by any chance?
Alex_LCFC Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 He hasn't shagged Pearson's daughter by any chance? not this again
1972 Fox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Kasper is our no 1 when fit. Hamer has potential but is not yet ready to be a first choice Premier League keeper in my opinion. Schwarzer has the necessary Premier League experience and I expect him to be in goal for us until Kasper returns.
MHC Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I shouldn't even do this but read away; Am I missing something? I'm not too much of a regular on here so apologies if I sound rude but is that just a random mate texting you as if he is a LCFC player or someone who actually knows people within the club?
Robin JD Popley Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Am I missing something? I'm not too much of a regular on here so apologies if I sound rude but is that just a random mate texting you as if he is a LCFC player or someone who actually knows people within the club? It looked like the profile pic of a certain journalist who is usually right. Although that is how I interpreted it.
st albans fox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I wonder if this means stowell's time could be up soon ? Maybe Nigel thinks the keeper coaching is lacking. Anyone know if MS has been filling his spare time by taking any badges?
