Carlos88LCFC Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 He's now the best goalkeeper we have! Pearson pulled that one right out of the top draw! Signing players and keeping quiet about it is the way forward... I bet a lot of bottom half teams will be scratching their heads over this! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
ozleicester Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Quality player, still more than good enough to do the job for us (in fact id be comfortable with him as our No1) Good signing
Callabinho Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Stowell is stale. Get someone in with fresh techniques. Agreed.
davieG Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Former Socceroos goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has reportedly agreed to terms on a move to struggling English Premier League club Leicester City from Chelsea. Various UK media outlets have reported the deal has been done and will become official on Monday, with The Telegraph saying 42-year-old Schwarzer has said his goodbyes to Chelsea players and team management. The deal with Leicester is expected to run through to the end of the 2016 season and has been spurred due to Kasper Schmeichel, the son of legendary Manchester United keeper Peter suffering a broken metatarsal bone. Leicester are currently sitting at the bottom of the EPL ladder with just three wins from 20 games, and 14 points. They have also conceded the second-most goals in the Premier League, leaking 33. Only Queens Park Rangers (35) have a worse defensive record. Schwarzer played 12 matches for Chelsea after moving to the club from Fulham in 2013 as a back-up for Petr Cech, who is now on the outs with manager Jose Mourinho.
AspectFox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 There is some absolute drivel in this post. Premier League football is a business, any business that improves its assets, in this case, the team, can only be good for the efficiency of the business. Mark Schwarzer in whatever capacity he is employed, is a step forward for LCFC.
Freesolo Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 he's a wee bit old man! i remember him being in goal for Middlesborough when we beat them in the League cup final back in 1997. But if he still has it why not bring him in to the end of the season? looks like a good signing.. Kaspers not a prem keeper yet sad to say
Captain... Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 I have heard that Kasper doesn't take advice on board well, he tends to rely on his Dad for tips on technique Whenever I've seen Pete talking about Kasper he has always said he tries not to get involved in his coaching as it isn't his place. I do wonder how well Stowell and Kasper get on professionally he has his Dad and when starting out at Man City Seaman was a big influence in him. I'm sure Stowell has all the right badges but he was nowhere near the level of Peter and Seaman as a keeper.
willie-bell-in-rothley Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Backup for Conrad? The legend that is Conrad Logan
AspectFox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 The legend that is Conrad Logan No, that other player called Conrad we have
HitchinFox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Purely to add cover for Hamer - Kasper might be out for a bit longer and Adam Smith is long way from being good enough. Not sure why TalkSport always go for the controversial take on things. "Not a glowing endorsement". What a twunt. Just because he personally hasn't heard of Hamer before this season, it doesn't mean that Schwarzer is automatically better.
Knickerbocker Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 This has made me so happy. Australian hero, favourite player of all time, now signed for the Foxes?! I have a very biased opinion but this is a great, great, great signing.

AyewJoking Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Can only assume Schmeichel doesn't look like recovering any time soon. Or Milan have offered £250,000.
5waller5 Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 I have heard that Kasper doesn't take advice on board well, he tends to rely on his Dad for tips on technique With all due respect to Mike Stowell, if he's telling you one thing and your dad is PS and he tells you something else .... I know who I'd listen to!!!! At any cost? I hope you're not in business. Where di he say "at any cost" .... I hope you're not a proof reader.
5waller5 Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Has anyone ever seen a GK improve whilst at Leicester?? I certainly haven't - they seem to sign as decent keepers and then stagnate .... and they certainly become less and less dominant in the box. So for me the idea of having a top keeper at the end of his career is a sound one ... we get a decent keeper that doesn't need coaching and that will either evolve into our GK coach or at least assist in it.
AyewJoking Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Hopefully he can command his area better than Kasper, might actually make Morgan a better player also ffs dont put too much pressure on the guy.

Narborough_fox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 "Bottom of the BPL ladder" is the best line in any new report for a long time.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Honestly have no idea what people are seeing in Hamer. I am not saying he has been terrible but where where is this excessive love fest coming from? His distribution is really poor, he is not decisive at all when being chased down and has almost put us in the shiz a couple of times hitting it against oncoming players, and statistically he is no better than Kasper goal-wise (in fact he has performed slightly worse on stats alone), conceding 7 goals from 20 shots on target in his last 5 games compared to Kasper's 10 goals in 25 shots on target in the previous 5. He hasn't solved the "commanding the area" problem that everybody is apparently an expert on and he has shown in the past that he has a tendency to flap at crosses; he did it the other day against Liverpool and nothing came of it. Once people have made their mind up on here it's like everything they see counts as evidence for their opinion and nothing will prove otherwise.

Paul Henderson, Chris Weale came on whilst at Leicester I think. Far from outstanding and the standard wasn't the greatest at that time in LCFC history but I think they improved abit.

Matt Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Everyone seems to be slagging Hamer distribution off, have they not noticed this issue with Schmeichel? Kasper's is just as bad if not worse but no-one hardly mentions it.
