Mark Schwarzer Signs - Official

His experience will be hugely vital for the rest of this season and beyond if he does stay. He has more Premier League experience than both of our keepers put together so that in itself will be displayed.

I can only see this as a good thing really cos he has a lot of quality. Much like Brad Friedel.

Pretty shit theory considering we need all the points you can get and your best players on the field dont you think?

We have.

Hamer > Schmeichel.

Why can nothing happen without people needing to come up with a conspiracy?

You must have said that for a reason.

Do you know something or you trying to hide something?

The man has played 863 competitive appearances, including 109 for his country and played in a Champions League semi-final last season.

He has more experience than our own goalkeeping coach and what he'll bring to the table will be vital. Very excited to see the impact he makes, both on and off the field.

That would be absolutely moronic, if you have a direct connection to one of the top people in any business you should use it to your advantage. I'm sure Kasper does but they wouldn't want to say they were undermining the coaching at his clubs.

This is where Kasper is so arrogant. He wants to be his own player and doesn't want to be remembered off of his dad's name, which in one sense is fair enough. But his dad is the greatest ever PL goalkeeper and there's always going to be comparisons.

Good signing to be honest, seems Kasper will be out for a few more weeks and if Hamer gets injured are we going to trust our survival hopes to a youth team player in goal?

Puts pressure on Hamer to perform as there will be someone on the bench who knows he can handle the PL...win win for me.

Why sign him then

Signed on the advice of an ex staff member who managed Hamer.

Another blooper from looking at the free transfer list each season then, when has this ever worked for us?

Hamer isn't comfortable at all with the ball at his feet but despite that we seem stronger overall with him there than Kasper so clearly has other qualities.

I have heard that Kasper doesn't take advice on board well, he tends to rely on his Dad for tips on technique

Don't talk shit.

Peter was on soccer am a few weeks and said he leaves it to the coaches and doesn't get involved

Good signings bags of experience, however I struggle to see why Pearson doesn't rate Hamer, when he's better than Kasper, who in my opinion is shit.

Our summer transfers seem even better now it turns out Nigel hates all the players.

I agree mate; it's almost like this is what happened...

MAY 2014

NIGEL - Terry, Top, Vichai, I want to sign the players on this list please.

*Nigel hands them a piece of paper, Top and Vichai let Terry get to work*

6 weeks later

NIGEL - So how is the summer transfer window going so far?

TERRY - Well, to be honest Nigel, everyone you wanted bar two or three are out of our price range so I'll recommend players you may like?

(What could possibly go wrong?!?)

Are we not making assumptions here?

Maybe Schmeichel's out for longer than we thought and this is just a back up signing. There are other possibilities too. I don't claim to know the answer myself but I don't think you do either.

Used to play with Nigel at Boro of course (they were both in the 1997 CCCFinal; Shwarzer missed the replay though)

Hamer has impressed me to be honest, I think he's got bags of potential and could learn a lot from an experienced keeper like Shwarzer.

More importantly - what about Conrad!?!?!?

It is purely because of Schmeichels injury, anyone thinking we have bought in Schwarzer as a replacement or because Schmeichel is leaving needs to have a long hard think because Schwarzer literally ready for retirement. What will be interesting is who will start out of Hamer and Schwarzer personally I think Hamers done really well and earn't his place
