StanSP Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 On cover? Replacing Hamer? I think Ben has done quite well to be honest. Maybe Schmeichel's injury is worse than first thought?
Guest Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Big mark schwarzer in as first signing. What do we think?
Babylon Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Didn't someone say we tried to sign him in the summer? Obviously Kasper is out for a while longer.
Dan Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Can only assume Schmeichel doesn't look like recovering any time soon.
DeclanMC Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 That's certainly come from leftfield! Maybe Kasper is out for longer than we first feared. Experienced keeper though, good capture IMO.
Tielemans63 Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Think you're right Stan, Kaspers injury must be a bit worse than first thought.
MHC Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Good goalkeeper I think Hamer has earned his place in the team though so I'm not sure what the point of this signing is unless Schmeichel is out for the season
Bettsj2 Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Oooh. I am soooo sorreh. Errrrm, g'day Mark you flamin gallah?
Matt Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Always rated him, getting on abit now, not too much of an issue for a keeper I guess though. Bit of slap in the face for Hamer, should he get shifted out, or even as back up when Kasper is fit (For what it's worth i'd have Kasper as the back-up, he certainly shouldn't walk straight back into the team like no doubt he will).
harpendenfox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Sensible. Kasper might not be fit until March as he clearly has a complex ankle fracture and I'd doubt he'd even kick a ball for 6 weeks minimum after the accident. Only needs Hamer to bang his head and we'd have a rookie between the sticks
harpendenfox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Sensible move. It may take some time for KS to build up sufficient strength in his ankle to be ready for the rigours of Premier League football. It only needs BH to get a kick in the head and we'd have a rookie in goal
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Schmeichels injury must be worse than they thought I'm guessing
MC Prussian Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 This will be an instant hit with our Aussie fanbase.
Mark_w Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 This will be an instant hit with our Aussie fanbase. Just need to sign a vegan now.
Danizen Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Pearson won't drop Hamer. Schwarzer will be a backup. This has come out of nowhere.
ealingfox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Forty-something mercenaries, just what we need. We all hoped Walsh's Chelsea connections would bear fruit and how they have!
Matt Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 I know we've got Stowell and had him for years but anyone think its as a view for potential coach? Certainly help and mentor Hamer and co.
Narborough_fox Posted 2 January 2015 Posted 2 January 2015 Schmeichel obviously out for longer than the 6 weeks they were hoping for. Metatarsal is very hard to recover from in a quick time and it's much easier to sign another keeper than to rush him back. I know we've got Stowell and had him for years but anyone think its as a view for potential coach? Certainly help and mentor Hamer and co. I was thinking this too. Many clubs do have more than one GK coach, and with Schwarzer coming to the end of his career he may see it as a better chance to move into coaching than at Chelsea.
