A Newcastle fan from another forum...

Disgusting squad to take, absolutely vile.

It cannot just be a coincidence that on 3 occasions this season now our senior players are all fit for the league game beforehand then a few vanish for the cup game with "got a knock" or "needs a rest" being spouted then they reappear the next league game.

If it is indeed a conspiracy theory then that shows that Alan Pardew and John Carver sacrificed the cup by not adequately rotating or making the right subs over the Christmas league games.

This club is only interested in league placed bonuses, especially because all staff had their pensions and healthcare scrapped and put on the roulette wheel of finishing top 10 with nothing for any of them if we don't achieve that. No pension pot for the caterer's if we finish 11th, so lets throw the cups just to make sure the tea lady can retire before she is 90.

John Charver has shown he's all mouth, peddling absolute shit to try and get the job, said before Everton game he can **** off, Woodman, Rob Elliott, **** off, clear out of the regime as much as possible now at the very least.

The anti-Ashley chants have been picking up since Old Trafford.

If he is serious about the well-being of the club he will make an appointment to appease the fans. He isn't though, he's ignorant, arrogant and you'll be hard pushed to find an ethical billionaire, he's certainly not one, disgrace of bloke outside of football, leaks into his running of the club.

Considering Lawrence is a 2nd striker/attacking winger he played really well in a 2 man midfield. Was very combative and looked to make things happen with dribbling from deep plus he showed a good range of passing and switched the play nicely. Occasionally tried too much but he would get away with that playing further forward. Looks like he could be a very, very good player in the future.

Looked totally out of his depth first half, only to be expected I suppose. But grew into it and had an ok game.

He's too lightweight but he wasn't out of his depth at all. He played better in the first half and then faded in 2nd!

Slowly but surely improving IMO. Deserved the win. I know Newcastle have been on the end of a decision that I thought looked not far off as bad as the penalty on Thursday, but we were comfortable today. The better side despite being weakened again.

Exactly what I'd have said - fudged a bunch of easy passes and a shot in the first half but looked much more composed toward the end of the game

A good win - not an pretty game but we never really looked like conceding, and bound to add confidence around the camp. The save on Wood's effort was out of this world, I was certain he was going to score. Had a good laugh from Vardy being booked the instant he came on too

Queue for tickets was ridiculous - 35 minutes I was in line and missed kick off like a chump

I was impressed when Marc Albrighton came on today. He improved our game a lot for us I feel.

How was Lawrence?

Looked decent. A bit lightweight but got stuck in well. Nice to see someone being able to put a decent ball into the box from a corner. Started out wide but then came into the middle as Cambiasso came off. Looks a better player in the middle of the park imo.

Didn't sound like a great game, so what? Into the next round.

Newcastles display was the most pathetic I had ever seen at home, just inept in every way. We really didn't have to do much to win but I'm glad that XI has played together and won together.

But by the baby Jebus what a save by their keeper, the best I have ever seen.

Ulloa's £8 million fee was one fourth of the £32 million that Chelsea paid for Diego Costa.

Costa should therefore have scored four times as many goals in all competitions as the Argentine to be considered better value for money.

Ulloa has 8 goals at a return of one goal for each £1,000,000 spent (or, if the own goal against Liverpool is taken into account as a 9th, £888,888.89 per goal).

Diego Costa's 14 goals have cost Chelsea £2,285,714.29 each, making his total cost to goals ratio at least twice that of Leo.

To be "better" than Leo at this point, Costa should have scored 32 goals, but he did not because he is not Leo Ulloa.

Therefore Leo Ulloa > Diego Costa.

Seems like a bit of a shambles collecting tickets pre-match - my brother arrived at the queue at 2.30pm and didn't get his ticket until 3.15pm. He said it was chaos and none of the staff had a clue what was going on with no organisation - a lot of people arriving well after him got their tickets much earlier in time for kick off as they prioritised people with surnames at the start of the alphabet rather than time of arrival in the queue. So with his surname an S he was shafted.

That's just it. Never seen the queue anywhere near that long before - it spanned all the way to where the visitor's busses drop off. I'm J in the queue and they were definitely trying to speed it up but prioritising A-G in the alphabet by adding more queues and moving them to the fanstore was ridiculous. Then as I finally got to the front of the queue, the Jim Davison lookalike just starts yelling people's names out starting with "I" - "have we got an Irvine here? Irwin?" I was ready to punch him. Instead I just shouted my name and full address and put my hand out, but it worked

Anyone with a surname of Y or Z is probably still queuing now

Newcastle were awful but that goal they scored was an absolute beauty! Glad the Lino decided it was offside 10 minutes later though, pretty sure he was level.

I cant believe Palace paid 2 million for Pardew, why?

Weighing everything up, I think Pardew has done a pretty good job at Newcastle. Ashley must be a nightmare to work for and I'm sure I read Pardew didn't have much say on signings. When a club sells you're best players, consistently, it must be difficult. I expect Newcastle to sell Sissoko before too long. I have a feeling Pardew will probably keep Palace up AND I think they'll do a bit of business this month.

How was Lawrence?

Needs three months in the gym but on the plus side he does look a good prospect and can teach James a lesson about corner taking. Got knocked off the ball a bit too easy but about two minutes after Cambiasso went off, he pinged a 60 yard Hollywooder out to the right side, so the skill & vision is there.
