Corky Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Newcastle fans want a cup run. They've won three FA Cup matches in 9 years. Haven't won a trophy in decades. I'd be pissed off and livid if we were the same.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 A lot of that is actually down to Wenger, he has had money and passed up on it numerous times. Apparently so Manwell..bizarre really..it is as though it's HIS money.
filbertway Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Lovely quick corner by Tony, well played Ulloa, turning a weak shot into a goal. That save from Wood's header! Out of this world.
Raj Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 He's made a fortune Raj but apparently doesn't spend it on the club? That's the point really. I know someone like Abramovich is much much jricher, but WILL spend where the club needs to spend. Ashley, or so I've read, runs Newcastle football club as purely a business. Making and taking his profit from it each season. There comes a time I think where the 'business' side of things takes back seat, for a time, to the 'football' side of things. Arsenal is another example. Profit making for years and are happy if they make the Champs league each season, having won just one FA cup in over 10 years. ain't Ashley got a stake.in Rangers too.? He's purely in it for a£££€€$$$..You could argue mist owners are but some like you say Abramivuch spends cash like fantasy football and u feel he dies enjoy it when chelski win what do toon fans expect of the team?..Happy to finish Top10 every year?.They undoubtedly are a passionate lot who attend enmasse but they've won Fook all for 40+ years..Bet Ashley thinks he can.just keep em happy finishing Top 10 . P.S i walked past Burnley boss Dyche and hus lad(?maybe). He's a big bloke-a queensberry rules bout wiv Pearson would be a sell out at the KP!!!
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Apparently so Manwell..bizarre really..it is as though it's HIS money. More to do with misplaced faith in the team he's built and certain players who aren't good enough, the two main reasons he's not one of the best managers in Europe.
MattyFromLE Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Pretty poor game, one i'm glad we won - mind. Albrighton, Lawrence, Moore, Nugent all stood out for me. All 4 played well and worked hard. James was steady and Wood was useful when he came on. Newcastle fans, well. I don't quite know what they think their entitled to. But their reaction at the end of the game was pathetic. I could have understand it, if they were chanting at Ashley, or the management - which for large parts they were. But all the players had gone over to clap them - and they just stood there and boo'd. Think the players aren't good enough? That'll be Ashley / Pardew's fault. Think the players don't want to play for you? Well. I bet they don't now!
Raj Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 One of the highest paid though ain't he Manny?? he's on a fortune!!!
sylofox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Been in a meeting in Brum all day go out and seen the result great and just got home. Not read the thread. But personal feelings as good as a cup run is right now I really would swap this win for 3pts. Onwards and upwards but this season is about staying up unless we did a Wigan and won it. But could we be on the brink of our greatest season ever? Stay up and a cup win I think the Utd and Liverpool results say we could win it with a little luck. But do we have enough for a fight on 2 fronts. Head says No heart says fvck it (in the words of the great Bob the Builder) yes we can.

I'd be pissed off and livid if we were the same. Said exactly them same to the lads I sit with. Not won fvck all in God knows how long, very much doubt they will go down, they won't challenge for the top 4 all they've got to look forward too is a decent cup run. And then the caretaker manager puts a side out like that after a 400 mile round trip. Every right to be pissed off.
Maybes Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Not surprised the Geordies were pissed off, I would've been in their position too. Probably a side expected to be safe from a relegation battle, so cup competitions should be a top priority. Add to that the fact that the coach would likely have wanted a win to put his name into the ring for the managerial position, but no, he picks a very unusual 11 and bench. Foolish on every level by the Newcastle managerial team. It's no wonder the 4400 travelling Geordies were furious.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Love the fact of the short corners. Something different.

Just read a Newcastle forum and they seem to think that Mike Ashley told John Carver to put a weak side out. It reads like all Ashley is bothered about is staying up and collecting the premiership money and isn't intrested in the cups.

Guest LCFC_World Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Leicester fans were s*** - probably among the quietest I've ever known. Other than taking the piss and cheering after our goal was disallowed they did nothing. I don't think that we were that bad.. Hopefully in the league game we can show them that we are not as bad home fans as they think.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 I don't think that we were that bad.. Hopefully in the league game we can show them that we are not as bad home fans as they think. Their fans were on par with liverpool for worst fans IMO. Quiet all game. Edit: at theirs
CosbehFox Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 I don't think that we were that bad.. Hopefully in the league game we can show them that we are not as bad home fans as they think. It's the normal bitter comment which occurs from a losing fan.
RonnieTodger Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 I don't think that we were that bad.. Hopefully in the league game we can show them that we are not as bad home fans as they think. I think we were. SK1 sung through most of the game, but there's just not enough of them to create a loud enough noise.
Mark_w Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 Our fans were shit, but so were Newcastle's. 30 minutes of highly amusing "you're quiet" and "look, look at the vacant seats and laugh" chants, followed by 50 minutes of silence, followed by 10 minutes of "We're shit, boooooooooo, everyone out, **** the world". Isn't particularly impressive if you ask me.

Doesn't help that Newcastle get given a large allocation and abiliterate our main singing section.
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 January 2015 Posted 3 January 2015 One of the highest paid though ain't he Manny?? he's on a fortune!!! Yeah but that's probably due to length of service. Lets face it I know a lot of Arsenal fans want him out but it's a case of Turkeys calling for Christmas if you ask me, for me if he goes they'll struggle to make top 4.
MC Prussian Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 Yep, their offside call was a bit farcical, as he was actually onside.
theessexfox Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 Nah his knee was offside, absolutely blatant, spot on lino
5waller5 Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 I've never seen a side booed so roundly whilst clapping their fans ..... The Geordies were certainly not happy!!
