Strokes Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 If we let one of our rivals sign him you can guarantee he will score a hatful and effectively shorten our chances.

Nah, I don't think you can sign a player just in case one of our rivals does. If we sign Defoe, it's gotta be right for the club.
Freesolo Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 1. It's Cambiasso and Jermaine. 2. What does that even mean? What is a level one thinker? 3. WTF? your a level 3 thinker not too bright level 1 thinkers are smart Level 0 thinkers are super smart they can read intuitively what a player is going to do before the player actually does it through years of top level experience, If they work together they will make smart runs clever passes and score lots of goals Instead of having a 0 Level player dink a beautiful ball through but the level 1 or 2 player ain't smart enough to see what he is doing the other smart player wold have read the ball ran onto it and at least have got a shot off

Vlad the Fox Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 I'm a level 0 thinker. I despair at all the thick level 3'ers who can't read my aimless punts into space.

Foxylady64 Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 Too old, already got enough oldies that struggle with a full game.
fuchsntf Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 Yes it is a risk but why take it? Genuinely, I'd be so much more excited if the club finally came out with a real statement of intent on maximising our survival chances. If we were now strongly linked with a player like Ings for 7 mill (ish) I'd finally think we were having a real go at getting out of trouble. Maybe we just don't have the dosh or just don't want to spend? But its stick or twist time really. Defoe IS a risk, not financially, but in terms of lack of game time, injury and age. Someone like Ings would only be a risk financially perhaps. Sign HIM, get him up front alongside Leo and I would fully expect him to hit the ground running. We know he can play off a big man, he's on current good form, is young and fit and is playing in the Prem NOW. That would be a more exciting proposition IMO. But maybe unachievable? I dunno. You come out with some good ideas and logical thoughts, then blow it with posts just spurting out doubts and maybes.Look we are Leicester city, not Man.city, not Newcastle, or even Stoke. We have limited choices, all our signings will be risks, and Ings is not in our playground, so why compare. We are all...!! "dunno's" If someone like Defoe, with his NATURAL talent even nearing the end of his playing career, comes up near to our neighbourhood or ballpark of possibilities, in our situation ( and not a desperate one) we take that risk. This man scores in his sleep, and his runs opens up space for others. He gives us 2 seasons, better buy than Phillips. We have quite a few youngsters with potential, what we NEED now at this moment IS the finished product even with a few grey hairs. If we can get him, hes the one that gives us that +1 above the risk factor, in this January slot. If you have doubts, dont always post the negative side.At present everyone of us have doubts + worries on everything..... Leicester city, but lets not get into rasberrying potential buys, before they have even kicked a ball in a blue shirt. if anyone can be an immediate success and give us a glimmer of hope, its someone like Defoe, or someone of his ilk. I just dont see any other 'ILK' around.

I've said I don't know why this club are not spending proper money on proper players. Maybe we are trying? Maybe no-one wants to join? But again, we are in a relegation dogfight and the best we can come up with is Jermain Defoe. Once a great striker, but basically given up real football to play in the MLS. Where is this club's (and our fans) ambitions? I am sometimes a little surprised when I read some of what I read on here. Lets spend a bit, get the right men, show some balls..and stay up.
Guest bss9401 Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 Defoe is real quality and I would love to see him in a Leicester shirt. Get him in and he will immediately increase our options and quality up front. Now that we are growing in confidence and seem to be getting back to playing on the front foot it could just be a very good time to sign him. Fingers crossed for me.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 If Nugent, Ulloa and Vardy are all injured, then still no. He's crap. He always has a decent September and is shit the rest of the season. We have enough of those players... Let him go to QPR, serve them all right...
shailen Posted 4 January 2015 Posted 4 January 2015 defoe is quality, there is no doubt he will score goals. Only concern I have is how long it may take to adjust back to the PL after being in a weaker league for so long.
