The kiwi's may just be giving themselves a chance here. Unbelievably 300+ may be on for them now.

Southee should get some swing and they have already bowled them out for 150 this world cup, on a much smaller ground aswell.

Looks like the Aussies will walk this. Real shame as they must be the most loathsome sports team in the world. Even gave Elliott a volley of abuse on the way off after he batted really well. Would love NZ to knock them over cheaply and take those horrible arrogant smirks off Aussie faces.

Couldn't agree more, living over here I try to get behind the local teams but the cricket team is full of absolute tossers, would love to see the kiwis run over them now. Can't see it though, unless there are 2 or 3 early wickets

Bit of a let down the final, shame but well done Aussies, clearly the best team.

I love McCullum, it would be such a privledge to be captained by him.

Well done to Australia; gutted for New Zealand. Always felt like NZ prefer the chase as opposed to setting the target.

Wonder how different if would have been, if at all, if the final was played in NZ.

Has Mark Nicholas finished the post match presentation yet?

"And this award, voted for by the local nightclub, Terry's Barbecue store, Richie Benaud- get on with it for fvcks sake".

Interesting developments in South Africa over the last few days.

Reports coming out saying De Villiers wanted to boycott the semi as pressure was applied to him to make sure the team had 4 non white players in and was told to choose to either bring in Pilander for Abbott or Berhadien for Rossouw.

Denied obviously but it would certainly make sense as no one could understand the decision, it was absolutely unbelievable that Abbott was dropped given his form, looking at Philander's figures and how close the game was it almost certainly cost them a position in the final.

The quota system was dropped in 2008 but has re-surfaced again recently and next season teams will be forced again to have SIX non white players in the side including three who are 'pure black'.

Think we could be seeing a hell of a lot of white cricketers from South Africa heading to England, Australia and New Zealand over the next few years.

Ridiculous that the Saffas pursue this policy still, abeit unofficially. How gutting must it be for someone to know they're not actually getting in on merit too?

100th Test appearance for James Anderson today, needs four wickets to become the highest English wicket taker in Tests. Should manage it in the next week.

Great start for England. Not.

Good opening spell in progress from Jerome Taylor

Good recovery from Bell and Root. Why we didn't give Lyth a go I've no idea. If he's going to be a serious option we need to blood him before the Aussies get here.

A good day in the end to close 341/5

Good ball by Roach ro get rid of Bell but a good knock

Super from Bell, he really is so classy at this level. Great to see Stokes in the runs again as well, looked like he playing with far more freedom.

Our top three mind, the run rate isn't going to be pretty is it? lol

Overnight England poised to reach 500+

Battling collapse of village cricket proportions means theyll probably drop short of 400

Anyone see this catch from the IPL the other day?

Yup, probably over 60 yrs the best team/duo catch, in any form of cricket I have seen.Every season in the modern period

show that the athleticism, and nano seconds thinking come reaction has improved just in 5 years, in light-year jumps.

One great catch after another, just gets beter and better. Fielding is now worth watching and waiting for.,
