adam Posted 17 November 2015 Posted 17 November 2015 Somethings not right .Especially if you look at Agnews and Vaunghans tweets .Too obvious .
marko Posted 17 November 2015 Posted 17 November 2015 It's hard not to think something funny isn't going on when you see run outs like that numerous times in an innings. They obviously watched too much of Inzi's running between the wickets as kids.
Alexikokopops Posted 18 November 2015 Posted 18 November 2015 Finn and Wood ruled out of the South Africa tour. Eurgh South Africa v England: Bowler Mark Wood set to miss tour http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/34861759
Guest MattP Posted 18 November 2015 Posted 18 November 2015 Well that's bollocks. Chance for Plunkett, Footitt or Willey then.
surrifox Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Ballance, Patel, Compton and Footitt included, Bell and Rashid miss out. Big opportunity for Taylor to nail down no.3 spot and well deserved. Lyth must consider himself a bit unlucky though
leicsmac Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Thanks for (some of) the memories, Ian. Good to see Compton being considered again, been the best of a pretty mediocre bunch since Strauss retired.
Osavo Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 As a Notts fan (I know, sorry), Taylor absolutely deserves a spot in the test batting order. Almost always gets past 40 and is an excellent technical player who has been left out for far too long. Hales however is not ready in my opinion. Too hot-headed and throws away his wicket way too easily at times. An excellent one day batsman but Compton should be the man for the test side.
Captain... Posted 20 November 2015 Posted 20 November 2015 I can't help but wonder where we would be if we hadn't binned Compton off a few years ago. He would have about 20 more tests under his belt and we would have an established partnership at the top, instead we are going into an away series against the best test side in the world with another experimental batting order.
notnow john Posted 20 November 2015 Posted 20 November 2015 You're suggesting we should have retained a batsman who's average in his last six efforts at the crease was Nine! N.Z exposed The flaws in his technique , let's hope he's corrected them.
Swarles Barkley Posted 20 November 2015 Posted 20 November 2015 well played roy! going well and with wickets in hand should be targeting 300. would be excellent on this pitch
marko Posted 20 November 2015 Posted 20 November 2015 Blimey, I left the box to make a phone call for 5 minutes and Jos has gone nuts!
leicsmac Posted 20 November 2015 Posted 20 November 2015 Fantastic batting all round here. Hopefully Buttler can get to that ton - would be the fastest by an Englishman by far.
surrifox Posted 20 November 2015 Posted 20 November 2015 this is really Jos' form of the game - scorer of the 3 fastest one day tons for England. Such a contrast to the haunted way he played in the tests - I wonder what instructions he received on his role in that side because he was so poor in the w/k batter role in the long form
Corky Posted 20 November 2015 Posted 20 November 2015 Astonishing really from a man out of form last week. Incredible stuff.
marko Posted 20 November 2015 Posted 20 November 2015 Did somebody say spot betting? It's hard not to think something funny isn't going on when you see run outs like that numerous times in an innings. Somethings not right .Especially if you look at Agnews and Vaunghans tweets .Too obvious . Shock horror! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-3326978/England-s-win-Pakistan-ODI-investigated-ICC-s-anti-corruption-unit-suspicious-betting-patterns-emerge.html
Izzy Posted 20 November 2015 Posted 20 November 2015 Just watched that knock from Buttler. Outstanding. Reminded me of Gilchrist in his pomp. I don't care who the opposition is, that was pure distruction. Brilliant stuff...
marko Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 Can anyone honestly remember the last time Afridi had a decent knock? I swear he's been living on his batting reputation for about 5 years.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 Anyone see Ali & Jordan have words after that catch was taken? Weird.
Corky Posted 26 November 2015 Posted 26 November 2015 Our limited overs cricket has improved hugely in the last 9 months. We seem to be taking it very seriously now.
marko Posted 27 November 2015 Posted 27 November 2015 Anyone else watching the Adelaide Test? Decent viewing to be fair.
leicsmac Posted 27 November 2015 Posted 27 November 2015 Yeah, and getting in 44k for the first day will help bolster Test cricket some. It's not something you can make a habit of, but perhaps one Test per series might be a good idea if both sides are up for it and the conditions are right?
