ScouseFox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 right now (as in for today's game) we needed more in the middle, obviously. but we've got our best 3 cms this season all out injured/suspended. what are we going to do when we sign a load more just to cover us for one or two games when everyone else comes back? field a whole team of centre mids? some of you are too busy playing fifa to realise that this is the real world, you can't just get an injury/suspension and then in the next 6 days buy a new centre mid who will win you the game the next week. what planet are you on. up until about 70 minutes into the villa game our midfield today was going to be hammond/james, with king and drinkwater on the bench. tidy. yet in the 6 days between then and stoke some of you think pearson should've assessed the injuries and the red card, told drinkwater and king they're "shit" and bought 4 new cms who'd all integrate into the team superbly and be top half premier league players, too, i must add.
Tom17LCFC Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 it could be worse, we could have to go back to stoke tonight.
MHC Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Really? Yes I was sat a few rows away from them and some of the things they were chanting made me want to attack them. I didn't mind Stoke before today's game and now my opinion is that you lot are the most ungracious pathetic bunch of arrogant morons in football. Awful fans, awful club. Go away.
Foxylady64 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Wish people will stop all the "Barely fit kramaric" crap... Do you really think he's been sat on the sofa and not trained with us on his own or with the squad? Every manager defends a new signing with the fitness rubbish. He should have started today and let him grow into the game with all the fans behind him when we were vocal, Not when we desperately need a goal, have lost all confidence, are supplying absolutely nothing and the crowd are silent... Vardy as impact sub when the "Unfit" kramaric tires... Albrighton on with ulloa partnering. spot he is a professional sportsman!
shade Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 I thought this was a quality pic of King in action:
Matt Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Kramaric looked lost, but I think we'd have been better of starting him, he'd have settled into the match rather than being thrown on when we were desperate and it was too late. Starting with Nugent and Vardy? Kramaric was never gonna come on with us 1-0 up was he, never.
Callabinho Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Should be beating average sides like Stoke, well if that's the case you'd be sitting in or around 9th position, afraid the table doesn't lie and you're bottom for a reason. If it was that easy to beat the "average" sides you refer to, especially teams below us we'd be second in the league with Man City. Losing to Leicester at home was an awful display from us, but in truth we didn't really have to do that much today. Average is harsh, you're a well organised side and very hard to break down, however today you looked there for the taking at the back, but our attacking line up today was about as useful as a ball with tits, there wasn't much in the game today (which there really should have been given our patched up midfield) but you have that one special player in Bojan, who had our pants down.We won at your place because we did a job on you, frustrated you into rushing things, leaving yourselves open and subsequently being hit by a counter attack, but today we were awful, a bit like trying to clean semen up with a wet wipe, messy, illogical, and damn frustrating.
smudger63 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 OK, so who can give me the reason for dropping Albrighton, who had been our most creative chance creator last week, to the bench? Who can tell me why when we are 1-0 down, we bring on Lawrence, who had been very poor when he came on last week, ahead of a very unfortunate to be benched Albrighton? Who can tell me why we started Vardy, who had been hopeless when he came on last week, and who is clearly devoid of confidence at the moment, ahead of Ulloa, who is our top scorer? Who can tell me why we kept pumping the ball in the air, against a team who were assembled from "Land of the Giants"? Very disappointed today, after some very encouraging performances of late. Pearsons team selection and tactics today were bizarre!
cityfanlee23 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Its not about signing just another midfielder though is it! It`s about signing a midfielder that gives us something different, with the exception of Hammond, who i would class as pretty much a holding midfielder, all our other midfielders are pretty much the same type, we don`t really have a midfielder who can go past players, or a midfielder that can chip in with a few goals at this level, in fact i don`t think we really have a creative midfielder, that is up to premier league standard, in the present squad, so another midfielder would be a very welcome addition in my opinion. Exactly. Hammond and cambiasso are both holding - Keep Drinkwater, james and king are all similar, and none are good enough at the moment to keep us up or even with half a chance of creating anything consistently.. we need a hustle and bustle type box to box midfielder, At the expense of James IMO. He just cannot read the game and his performances have been dreadful.
Jolly Potter Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Yes I was sat a few rows away from them and some of the things they were chanting made me want to attack them. I didn't mind Stoke before today's game and now my opinion is that you lot are the most ungracious pathetic bunch of arrogant morons in football. Awful fans, awful club. Go away. All fans have them I'm afraid but so do the likes of Birmingham, Leeds and Wolves, you can see where I'm going with this I trust.
Guest Bilo Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Yes I was sat a few rows away from them and some of the things they were chanting made me want to attack them. I didn't mind Stoke before today's game and now my opinion is that you lot are the most ungracious pathetic bunch of arrogant morons in football. Awful fans, awful club. Go away. Their chants made no sense. A good 70 minutes of celebrating the relegation of a team who aren't their rivals and haven't been relegated yet. Singing that our support was fvcking shit when an attendance higher than the capacity of their ground was announced. Not sure if they're odd or just thick.
Claridge Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 You see this is the reason why non of us could ever realistically be football managers. We just don't see the logic in starting the game with two strikers on the pitch who have 3 goals between them all season, leaving our 8 goal top scorer on the bench and a brand new 9 million striker waiting. None of us would have thought to employ those masterful tactics.I know what I'm doing as i would of bought on lawerence instead of albrighton. Shit the blokes in the White coats are coming.
iamafox Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 One of the worst overall performances I've seen for a while. We were so toothless in midfield, N'Zonzi completely dominated the battle in that area. We just couldn't match up to the physicality Stoke showed on the pitch. Attacking-wise, we were very poor. We really lacked the creativity to open Stoke up and they restricted us to half-chances. Pearson dropping Ulloa, Albrighton and persisting with Nugent was a huge mistake. And why Lawrence was brought on instead of Albrighton, I'll never know.
Maybes Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Second best all over the park. Stoke deserved their win. As much as I despise everything about their disgusting club, they were vocally the best set we've had at the KP this season.
Dan Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 What an absolutely awful, depressing game of football where our utter lack of invention has been exposed massively. Pearson got it horribly wrong today. Absolutely nothing up front (sorry but neither of those two are good enough, you can get away with maybe one) and absolutely no clue how to break them down. There was no way we were coming back from that. Kramaric looked lively but you can't expect him to turn a game like that around on his own. One of the worst attacking displays I've seen from a Leicester side.
Monsell1976 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Flat flat flat The team, the tactics, even the crowd Put it down to a bad day at the office We have next week to put in a good performance against a weakened Spurs side Not the end of the world if we lose and a surprise win gets some momentum back We are not in the position to have bad days at the office, every side that goes out should be giving it everything to win the game.We only look good with the high pressing game, so we sit off all game and let them walk through us. Bad tactics, bad implementation and bad quality and idea's cost us, not a bad day at the office.
deejdeej Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Was Albrighton injured? Can't be bothered to read all the thread as I'm as deflated after that game as the others. Pathetic performance after a good run. We need a couple of major scalps ala Sunderland from last year to stay up. Another thing, Lawrence was awful when he came on. Team selection baffled me.
Raj Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 No. Worst midfielder we have. !!!!As soon as i heard nugent n vardy were starting i thought we were in shit!!! Combined 3 goals so far this season!!! However the first half wrong did ok,knocky should have done better with i think our one and only clear cut chance. Dont know that happened 2nd half but everything was flat, including the crowd. Normally cat fault our effort but that 45mins was crap and low key. Its no use having 16odd million pounds of strikers if you can't get them the ball... We should learn from stoke how to win ugly...very ugly!!!
Dan Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Why do people talk about Stoke like they're Burnley, Hull or QPR? They're an established side at this level. They never look like being relegated. We haven't just lost to an absolutely pits side, we've lost to not a bad one. Their fans are still a gang of mutants as far as I'm concerned but so many on here under-estimate Stoke in general. They aren't as shit as their name suggests.
deejdeej Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Why are people berating schlupp when he was the only one that actually ran at them, some of our fans are deluded.
Grewks Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Why are people berating schlupp when he was the only one that actually ran at them, some of our fans are deluded. Probably the same idiots who are defending drinkwater, vardy and nugent.
Monsell1976 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 Why are people berating schlupp when he was the only one that actually ran at them, some of our fans are deluded. To his credit one of the only player that looked a threat, just a shame no quality or end product once he'd beat his man
Grewks Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 To his credit one of the only player that looked a threat, just a shame no quality or end product once he'd beat his man There was.....Knocky missed a very good chance.
Monsell1976 Posted 17 January 2015 Posted 17 January 2015 There was.....Knocky missed a very good chance.I remember now, barring that one final product
