Matt Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Maybe abit ott here but for me it's shit or bust, got to win to give us any hope. We're not far off getting out of the mess but something's gotta give and without stating the obvious sooner or later the gap either got to be made up by us or it's gonna get bigger but I feel the longer we go without winning, the gaps gonna get bigger, we've been fortunate results have been 'going our way' in terms that we're not getting left adrift of the teams above but that only matters if our own results go our way, relying on other teams results can only help us so much, we have to do a little bit for ourselves.
ADK Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 There's so many options and yet no real idea of who our best XI is still. Albrighton deserves a run of games but Mahrez is now returning whose our most dangerous player. Schlupp has done extremely well of late and therefore one of them can't start. I've no idea who should play up front. Kramric and Ulloa were very quiet vs Man Utd and Nugent looked the best of a bad bunch. However I was appalled by some of his wastefulness v Aston Villa and we can't afford play like that. Vardy needs removing from the match day squads full stop at the minute. Hideous. Wes Morgan under any other regime would be out on his ear hole. I hope Pearson has the bollocks to do so but he won't. So Huth and Upson will sit on our bench for a few games whilst Wes makes a few more errors. Left back is any ones, all options have their problems. Thank god Matty James is back, that's about as positive as I can be today. Him and Mahrez may make a difference to get us some much valued points. Huth is still suspended and Upson is a big unknown, he's not played at this level for a while and both have suffered significant injury. I suspect Upson will play against Villa. Morgan has been good enough but suffers moments of panic, objectively he's our second best defender until Upson or Huth can prove otherwise. Schlupp and Albrighton to start with Mahrez on the bench would be my choice. I'd start Ulloa, we aren't playing Man U this time so he won't be redundant and he can score. The question is whether to play Kramaric or Nugent behind him. Personally I'd go for Nugent, his partnership with Ulloa is to date our most successful pairing. Kramaric will almost certainly appear from the bench.

You can expect us to pay 9milion for someone who because they haven't scored yet is going to sit on the bench, I do agree with you about the pairing but in reality it's not going to happen.
AndWhat? Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Biggest game of the season so far. Hope the players and fans turn up for it.
Claridge Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Explain Ulloa over Nugent in that position? One scores one doesn't I presume
Stevosevic Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Anyone not think this is a must win? Can't keep go on saying "only 3 points off" without actually leap frogging teams.
Harry - LCFC Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Anyone not think this is a must win? Can't keep go on saying "only 3 points off" without actually leap frogging teams. The last ten are when that's likely to happen. We'll have to be patient for now as I don't expect us to climb the table in the next few weeks.

ADK Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Anyone not think this is a must win? Can't keep go on saying "only 3 points off" without actually leap frogging teams. Not literally but with the run of fixtures we have afterwards I think the atmosphere here and in the stands will be extremely poisonous if we don't.
Matt Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 We could be 17th Saturday evening, let's climb now. Oh don't bother discussing it with him. I said we needed to beat QPR, I considered it must win as I felt if we didn't we'd go bottom and never recover, so far seems I'm unfortunately right. If we can get out of this sorry mess Saturday it'll be a huge boost of confidence and maybe, just maybe we can push on abit. Like I said a few posts ago and like you have the 'it's only 3 points' phrase is gonna last only so long, if we don't do anything for ourself rely on other results the gap will get bigger sooner or later and we'll be left adrift.
Master Fox Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 I think for the first time this season I won't be watching. It feels like we've regressed. Never felt less confident about our hopes of staying up now. All the negativity and hopelessness has returned and can't see us winning any time soon.

Harry - LCFC Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 We could be 17th Saturday evening, let's climb now. Would love that to happen and I there's a good chance it will. Hope people don't get frustrated when (probably) we drop back in again. Oh don't bother discussing it with him. Spin it whatever way you want but three points is not a big gap. Claiming to be right at this stage is very premature. Even more ridiculous is your suggestion that I'm not worth talking to. I said we could recover from defeat at QPR - it ought to be obvious to anyone that that is still the case. We can recover. In short, what I said was pretty damn reasonable.

Sorry but this is as close to must win as you can get. We're simply running out of matches and need to win. Beat them and they are only 3 points above us lose and they are 9 points away and that looks too far off for us to catch up. Somehow we need 5 points from the next few games and the Palace match is our only realistic chance of picking up 3 of them.

Monsell1976 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 A must win game, no excuses, got to get everything right, and no matter the result, I expect the team to battle for 90 minutes, just fear palace will out muscle us like they did in their place. King and drinkwater out, any of the other 3 to replace them, wouldn't play ulloa, we are not going to win the Ariel battle against these, we must get our passing game going.

SecretPro Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 So ****ing glad Mahrez is back. Wes to play his last game for a while? I'd still play Ulloa with Kramaric if Albrighton starts. He's our top goal scorer (by 428 country miles) and if someone tells the streak of piss to actually stay up top he might bang in a few more headers with someone whipping balls in. Nugent as an impact sub. Now Mahrez is back where is Nige going to put vardy? Emphatic win needed.
LCFCCKEANO Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Hamer Simpson Was Upson De Laet Albrighton James Hammond Schlupp Mahrez Ulloa/Nuge/Krama Let Mahrez be our Bojan, his best assets are his dribbling and his through balls, if we attack, we get Albrighton and Schlupp in behind the full backs crossing for Ulloa, if we want to counter we go Nuge or Krama and get in behind using their runs and pace and his through balls.
