LCFC v palace post match thread 0 - 1

Just got back from the game. How we keep getting beaten by teams that really aren't that special remains elusive to me.

Plus points - I thought,  Schwarzer (solid), Was (Rock), Mahrez (tried hard, had skill and took a good corner but lacked end product) and Cambiasso ( who won just about every header in midfield) played pretty well - fair play to them.

The rest of them looked quite simply pretty poor.

Simspon was outclassed and paced by his winger.

Wes (for God's sake stop slipping over when a man turns you) Morgan looked off the pace.

Schlupp FFS don't get me started on how he gets on the teamsheet ahead of Albrighton.

James still can't shoot and lacks creative vision  (I'm actually contemplating that Hammond might be a better partner to Cambiasso which is ridiculous in itself)

Konch wasn't terrible but gave away too much possession with the hoofing from the wing when under pressure.

Ulloa - striker who can't win a header from the passes hoofed to him and spent way too much time ridiculously far away from goal.

Nugent - ran his ass off as usual but didn't take his chances today.

Bit deflated today, Huth, Albrighton and Kramaric need to start on Tuesday!

I thought Cambiasso had a good game and Nugent doesn't deserve the stick he's getting, certainly played better today than Ulloa. Albrighton can put in a cracking cross  if he has space but doesn't seem able to beat a man and I thought James wimped out of a few tackles this afternoon.

Ulloa, Simpson, Wes (after sonogo came on) were fecking useless.

How so many different players contrived to miss you many chances I will never know.

So dominant first half we should have been out of sight!! Gutted.

If Nugent's a Premier League standard player we're two goals up before they even score. If Morgan's a Premier League standard player he doesn't get pulled all over the place by Sanogo in the build up to the corner from which they scored.

We had a chance to rectify the mistake of keeping faith with these two in the summer (understandable at the time with Morgan I think) this January but we haven't done it.

Simply not good enough.

What does Albrighton have to do to make a start, without a doubt our best crosser. I'm shocked he didn't start today

When he came on he got out muscled so many times by zaha it was untrue

What was the banner all about in L1?

lol....an advert for ideal standard bathrooms i read it as...it was a woeful effort whoever did it!

Not been this deflated after a game for a long time. Frustrating afternoon that's for sure.

When three of your back four (Was aside) are as poor as that and scared of the ball it's never going to be comfortable. I don't know where to start with the end product, we created some decent and a couple of golden chances and still draw a blank.

Was really looking forward to the Emirates, not so sure now.

Time for a beer or ten to drown the disappointment away.

Not an awful performance but not good enough. Line up and changes were sensible. We lack composure everywhere.

That's fair.

gutted that you of all people are saying that. Nope - we're just not good enough.Learn and move on, don't get rid of the best manager sine MON

I just feel like he has lost the team spirit. Players are making insanely school boy errors and confidence is so low people are passing the buck instead of having a shot. We have a CF in Ulloa who has the first touch of a ******** who continually gets into the side. We have a LB that can't even control the ball, two CB's that jump in at every opportunity rather than tracking their men. As for the midfdle of the park, well don't get me started.

I just can't believe how shambolic we look, even today against poor Palace side we conceded a sloppy goal from a set piece, were tore apart by an average CF and failed to score against one of the sloppiest defences in the league. I can't see where the turnaround begins?

I honestly don't think Nige has the nouse to pick the best team and formation to get us out of the dog fight. No pun intended there.

It really does hurt to say it, because the bloke is genuine, he has organised the club strategically behind the scenes and has set us up well for this league. But some decision on the pitch side have just been, well, questionable and reality bites.

**** me, that was bad. Plenty of endeavour, but as always - no quality. We could be playing until Valentines Day and we still wouldn't score.

It actually got worse when Albrighton came on because it just changed to searching for him and hoping he could get a cross in. We failed to break down ****ing Damien Delaney and Joel Ward and just decided on hoofing it at 0-1 (Stop ****ing doing this!) The last half-hour was hopeless, we just went sideways or hoofed it in again. The Nugent/Cambiasso bit summed it up; 4 games into the season and Nuge would've hit that first time.

Morgan needs to be binned off, but the defence weren't the issue today (Despite Simpson putting in one of the worst RB performances I've ever seen)

I can't see a way out of this at all.

Suppose you didn't notice the 3 quality crosses he made in the space of about 5mins after coming on?? Crosses Schlupp could only dream of making.

Absolute joke he hasn't had a decent run in the side

He's tried everything. I don't see how people are saying the problem lies with his selections. Bar one or two positions which are arguable (Nuge and Schluup/Albrighton) that was our best lineup today and yet again the players fall short.

Nige has made some glaring errors in selection and formation this season. But its not every week and its not that which is costing us.

Its individual errors at the back and chances being missed. The team must take some responsibility.

I'm sick of saying 'its about fine margins' but it really is.

If Nuge scores off the bar we are in good shape for 3 points.

If Cambiasso scores the couple of one on ones we have had during the season we have more points.

If we had a competent ref during the Liverpool game we have more points.

If Kasper had made a fairly simple save from Burnley's equaliser we would have more points.

If the ball didn't keep deflecting off Morgan into the net we would have more points.

If the ref had gave Kramaric a penalty vs Stoke we would have more points.

The point I'm trying to make here is that if we had even a little slice of luck our position and outlook on the season would look very different.

Nige is ultimately responsible, but don't tell me that another manager would have survived these moments going against us or even prevented it... Or that they would have prepped the team better. We are still in with a chance.

Back the team, back the manager. We have it all to play for. If we stay up, it will be a learning experience for us all (fans, players and management).

Remember how Vardy took a season to adapt to the Championship? All our players should be afforded that same chance with the fans support. Especially when you consider that the effort is there for all to see.

I came on to this forum a few months ago and spoke about how some of you putting down Palace thinking your this massive club was laughable and I actually got some decent replies from decent people but reading again I've realised what a deluded bunch you are. Calling is a poor Palace team etc. Have you seen our team and results. Our team is a different class to yours and we have proper owners and fans that actually support the team

Your going down and deserve to with your hillarious mentality. Your manager is crap as well. Hope you don't come up again .

Cool story. To a man your team isn't much better than ours. Unfortunately for us you changed manager at the right time and we didn't which will see us go down.

No need to be a bell end, you won and you will stay up so congrats but don't be a dick about it as when your bubble bursts at some point in the future you will be eating humble pie.

You do realise these things aren't luck?

Nugent and Morgan aren't good enough and should have been replaced in the first week of January

I am sorry guy's A massive wake up call for most of our fan's! I believe you make your own luck, so no good looking what could have been. Also I am rapidly losing patience with Pearson, forever tinkering with the line-up and seriously telling a fan to **** off and die and now wrestling an opposition player! Hope he is ashamed when he see's it again, what a joke.

Enjoy your brief bounce before the reality of Pardew as a manager will once again kick in. I saw your team today and you are what I thought you'd be. Bang average and will be consistent relegation candidates unless you have a considerable cash injection. As for us, yeh we're probably down but we will be back. Sorry mate!

this says it all, after a morgan challenge late in the game, where he commited himself to a low tackle missed the player and left the field wide open... i yell "NO MORGAN!!!"....... my 5 year old jumps up in the air, stamps his foot on the ground and yells "****ING FOOTBALLERS!!!" lol

says it all really

Absolutely embarrassing.

Our biggest game of the season and some tools were more concerned about unveiling a banner in support of fvcking Anderlecht because one of their rivals in the Belgian league unveiled a tasteless banner about a player in a match against them.

Cringeworthy really.
