Sigh.

Same old story and it's getting boring now. How we managed to waste as many chances as we did, again, is beyond me. How does Nuge not smash it in after rounding the 'keeper? Then why does Cambiasso take a touch and not just smash it into the open goal? Morgan looked like a lost kid when Sanogo came on. I can't wait for Huth to be available, surely he has to replace Wes. Simpson looked like a lost kid all game and was a car crash from start to finish. Ulloa's touch was absolutely shite today. Kramaric should have come on earlier. Schlupp looked like he was high.

The performance wasn't actually that bad, until we tried to score. No way did they deserve to win but, again, we manage to lose the game ourselves. It's been said too many times this season. Luck has nothing to do with it now, it's just poor play. A confident Leicester side would have bagged 3 or 4 goals today. A striker with any modicum of quality would have scored for us today (Kramaric clearly is talented but didn't have enough time and played deep).

The only positives for me were Mahrez (who was superb and showed what we have missed), Wasilewski (solid again and our best defender by a mile) and Cambiasso (for most of the game). If King had put in the performance James did today then he would have been called out for being his "invisible" self.

Utterly frustrating. It's not mathematically over yet but it's going to take a hell of an effort to stay up from here.

Nugent and Morgan aren't good enough and should have been replaced in the first week of January

I bet you said Harry Kane would never make it didn't you?

Nugent may not be good enough. But he is our hardest worker up front and I can appreciate that and therefore his place in the squad.. These two players aren't the only two to have underperformed. So why are they getting the most stick? Drinkwater and Moore have been just as bad wouldn't you agree?

These players were given a chance to step up and didn't make it. BUT they could show improvement next season.

There's no need to show everybody the door after two thirds of a season in a new league.

Edit: As for Morgan specifically I imagine Nige wanted Prem experience alongside him or competing with him. But unfortunately he can't see into the future and predict Upsons injury! That's why the Huth appointment may be a shrewd bit of business. Centre Back has been managed as well as it could have been IMO.

Lee Mason is a ****ing ****

So consistently bad - no game changers but all the way through the game he was making shocking decisions.

I bloody wish we would get the rub of the green one day. We used every bit of luck for the whole season in one game against United and have had **** all since.

Nugent was twice the player Ulloa was today. You could literally have put an inanimate object up front and got the same out of it.

It's just astonishing the level of ref in this league, I honestly think most championship refs were better than this shit.

We were so innfective that pardew decided he could go 2 v 2 in the midfield at half time when he brought an extra striker on. Brave call and it paid off for him.

Once they got ahead the game changes as they sit back to keep what they have.

At some point, we have to realise that without three in midfield we won't have quality possession beyond their midfield. That means playing one up, three at the back or sacrificing width one side.

Kramaric will never get an opportunity to show what he can do the way we are setting up.

We need an overlapping full back one side and a winger the other.

The extra midfielder enables us to cover behind the overlapping full back when necessary.

Low confidence clear by our lack of first time passing (Cambiasso apart). Everyone needs an extra touch and that slows it all down.

Really sad as there really are three teams worse than we are. The table will not show that come may.

Two years from now Pearson who will probably be managing some league two side will say in his autobiography - 'I was out of my depth at Leicester, didn't know what I was doing? I tried to be too technical, mixed the players around, different formations and lineups... I guess I was wrong'....

Yeah he's definitely league 2 standard

Their centre backs shut Ulloa down at Selhurst as well. And they've scored three set pieces against us this season and kept two clean sheets with relative ease. We're heading down unfortunately. Haven't made a good fist of this at all.

So disappointing travelling most of the day to see a 1-0 home defeat. My reflection was very unlucky, ball just didn't fall our way from rebounds, we should've scored two or three, we hit the bar, just lacked quality in front of goal. We were improved in the middle of the park, played our two best wingers atm and Mahrez was great, defence was ok - not sure what happened with the goal, we were looking much improved with defending corners in recent months, and we looked a danger attacking them for once today.

Relegation sprung to mind at full time, hope not and I believe in Pearson and the squad but too many things haven't gone our way this year. Not something to get wound up about imo, the Championship will be fun again, we might win it we might not, who cares what division we're in we've always been a yoyo club.

Kane's a different case as he was poor for us because he didn't care enough to be good for us. He came having signed a four year deal at Spurs and had no interest in anything other than some casual match practice before heading back to where he wanted to be (without injury).

Nugent works very hard, he's good for the shape and does a job. But ultimately it's not enough.

He should have scored two today and if he does then that match is out of sight. He wasn't putting away chances he should have done at the level below and giving him the opportunity to miss them at this level has cost us. As bad as Ulloa was today, if he gets a chance he's shown that more often than not he'll put it away.

Nugent needs four or five chances and you get them per team not per individual at this level.

Enjoy your brief bounce before the reality of Pardew as a manager will once again kick in. I saw your team today and you are what I thought you'd be. Bang average and will be consistent relegation candidates unless you have a considerable cash injection. As for us, yeh we're probably down but we will be back. Sorry mate!

Lived in Crystal Palace, very close to Selhurst, and fans there shouting glory supporter at me for wearing my City shirt whilst on run. Must have thought I was Chelsea and that tells you all you need to know about their plastic fans

Think the keeper has to take some of the blame for the goal if he had stayed on his line instead of prancing around he might have had an easy catch.

how Kram has not started I will never know, Marhez looked a different class and you can see the abiltity Kram has even from a 20 minute cameo pretty sure he would have scored if some of those chances had fell to him.

Once again another disappointing, unlucky afternoon. The team certainly know how to attack, but just don't know how to score. The teams performance as ever was decent and you can't fault there effort. I just couldn't believe how Nuge missed that sitter, I was surprised though he was took off as I thought compared to Ulloa he looked most like scoring.

Overall on the tactics, to be honest I felt for about an hour of the game Leicester looked good and really throwing themselves at Palace, but I thought once the changes were made I felt the game had slowed down and Leicester looked least like scoring, that is typically Pearson for yer alot of his tactical changes during a match mostly don't work. This probably why I've got alot of doubts about Pearson he just can't turn round games.

On Palace they looked quite decent, they looked quite organised and put out an outstanding defensive display. Overall Leicester did deserve at least a point.

Can we survive? It's difficult but if it's to be done, it will not be done by Pearson. A lot of clubs that have changed there manager near the bottom have brought in managers that have premier league experience, and there's Palace for an example with Padrew. However I'm doubtful Pearson will be going nowhere, I think the board like him too much and even if Leicester finished rock bottom come May they'll still give him another year.

Just watched it again after getting home.

Why didnt Nuge shoot When he rounded the keeper? Baffling.

Do we think he went 3-4-3 out of desperation, or is he seeing if he can do without full backs totally?

I find it hard to think it was pure desperation as ulloa was clearly on an off day and to be quite honest needed subbing as he was running on empty.

Maybe he is thinking wes - was - huth at the back schlupp and mahrez dropping back, would like to see nuge and krama start together at some point as well

Severely lacking in intelligence. They get so far from the goal and they don't know what to do with the ball.

Cambiasso for Captain (well, he is now in reality) He's the only one with any knowhow and quick witted enough to know where to pass the ball.

They're just not sharp enough.

By the time they've worked out whether to pass the ball to Nugent or cross it for Ulloa or have a shot at goal, it's too late and they've been tackled.

We had zero composure and looked scared of shooting sometimes. If our players could keep a calm head we could of had at least 2 goals today. We are a championship side currently and I see no evidence to show we won't be there again next season.

Posted

The Nuge enigma again today. Played pretty darn well, but can't score goals. We've had the chances to score the goals to get the points to stay up. Our failure to do so in the games we've competed in is the reason for our probable downfall.

The drive back home tonight was grim. Reminded me of how I felt after the Watford league game just before the infamous play offs two years ago

Really is gutting we keep playing so well and getting 0 points. The finishing needs to improve, clearly, there was a 20 minute period in the first half we played some of the best football I've ever seen us play. Riyad was sublime today. My only real complaint would be leaving Ulloa on for the entire game when he clearly wasn't at the races today. Krama should of come on earlier if not started.

Not an awful performance but not good enough. Line up and changes were sensible. We lack composure everywhere.

Still shocked anyone can defend a club in our position spending £9m on a striker and then leaving him on the bench for 2 games out of 3, both of which we fail to score in. Either wasted money or a team selection error.
