Arsenal 2-1 Leicester post match thread

Can't really have a dig at Nige's recruitment. Apart from Mogran most of the shite players were Sven's signings.

If we gone down we will galvanise and come back even stronger. Just like after the Watford season.

Did anyone at the ground hear Ian Wright at half time? Was talking about how much he loves beating leicester because of the fans?!!

I'm glad he's broke now the stupid cL1nt

He got some stick one night in 94 I think it was. Whole kop was singing 'Ian W*nk W*nk W*nk' and we beat them. He didn't like it up him.

Talking to a QPR fan tonight.

He reckons we and them will stay up teams around us have

have a lot worse run in's.

He also said would rather have had NP than Harry to manage them.

From what he has seen of us we have more fight.

And if not safe last game we will put them down

I was in the home end and the players can take the disgruntled moaning of the Arsenal fans as a big compliment. The fellas I watched the game with couldn't believe they'd escaped with the points.

Didn't look like the performance of a team who'd been through the roller coaster of the previous days, they were a credit to Pearson.

Exactly the same experience I had in the home end at Liverpool

Edit: Apart from the horrible accents I had to endure

When we sit back, and invite sides onto us, we are a far bigger threat going forward on the counter....

But we needs points now...and I can't see sides letting us play that way.

Play like that for rest of the season we will survive. watch out villa the blues are coming to fox you down onwards& upwards

I felt we were forced to go for it second half and did very well. The three at the back worked extremely well. I feel for Wes, he started the season superbly but his confidence is clearly shot. I'm not sure that Moore wouldn't be a better bet than Upson as well, should Was replace Wes. And in time, I'm sure we'd see Schlupp and De Laet as wing backs if we stuck with the system (and I don't see why we shouldn't).

I also feel for Pearson tonight. He didn't get a great deal wrong (though some of the above might be points of contention) and I honestly believe we deserved more. He only needs to fix how we scrap for games against the weaker sides, and I wonder whether 3-5-2, or 5-4-1, or 5-3-2 might help in that regard.

Pearson's got a great deal wrong on and off the field this season, and I stand by my view that he's unwise to pick the fights he picks, and should consider demanding more from some of his players. I still have massive respect for the guy, though, whether I believe he's our best bet at this level or not, and felt desperately sorry for him as well as the team tonight.

We've said this far too often, but if they can replicate this kind of display in the coming weeks and months they could get a result out of anyone.

How did Upson perform tonight?

I thought he looked very ccomfortable with the ball at his feet played a few decent balls and all round looked better than what we've had this season at the back, shame he got injured just hope it isn't long term again as I think him and Huth could form a very good partnership... also he gets massive kudos for a beast of a challenge on sanchez

Yeah but once we changed from a back 5 to a back 4 the chances dried up.

lol Why do you think it's a simple case of choosing where you deflect the ball to? What do you think it's like to be a goalkeeper ffs?! The ball literally has to move half an inch and the direction it goes can change completely.

And why had nobody closed the shot down? Tired of people on here always quick to blame the keeper when they don't really know what they are on about.

lol That is literally unbelievable you having a go at people for not knowing what they're on about! You are clearly an idiot.

Had a 'mare yet again.

Schwarzer is fvcking shite mate and it's ridiculous that a 'keeper who was actually capable of making good saves and keeping clean sheets was dropped for this old twat.

But go on, try to dazzle me with your bullplop statistics and fake mathematics and explain how Schwarzer's actually been amazing and much better than Hamer despite conceding 7 in 4 games, as many as Hamer conceded in several more games than that.

I don't think it's the end, it's more like the beginning of something new from this match on. Even if the team snatched a point they'd be 4 points adrift, so it's not the end of the world that they went to the Emirates and should have had a draw as it changes nothing about what's required. Nobody expected anything today, and now everyone's gutted the team didn't at least draw based on their actual performance. Kramaric missed a great chance, and I'm shocked he didn't score with that lob, which is his specialty. But his progression from the last match to this one was excellent, so there's real hope he will bang them in with another couple of games under his belt

Wenger and co are right, this team doesn't deserve to be bottom. The might have stumbled onto a new formation today and there's no reason to believe they can't get good results in 9  of the remaining fixtures at least. It's the Stoke and Palace matches that are sickening after today's performance, but I feel the Kramaric, Mahrez and Shlupp combo can move forward and smash Villa. Relegation will go down to the last day

Every match in April and May is winnable if they springboard off todays performance. Any points in March would be a bonus, but then there are 8 very winnable games

Proud of the performance tonight and glad Kram scored but the whole thing felt a bit sad. Pockets of arguing in the away end again. Morons behind us chanting Neil Lennon's name. Quality players who we won't see play for us for much longer. The captain looking like he needs to be dropped. Above all probably the QPR result.

I'm amazed we got so close to getting something from the game, fully expected a 3 or 4 nil defeat but I should know better. We don't seem to do those.

Can't believe hardly anyone has mentioned the foul for the first goal, so frustrating to concede goals like that to teams like Arsenal instead of them cutting through you.

Mahrez is a joy to watch. Kramaric was superb. Cambiasso was superb. Back five worked ok.

However...

I think people saying that we'll win against poorer teams if we play like that are wrong. We know we can play well overall. It's still the lack of quality at either end of the pitch in the big moments that is costing us.

Gap looks a bit too big now. Trying to remain positive. Looking forward to Villa Park on Sunday.

Can't blame Schwarzer for the second goal, ball was swerving and moving all over the place from the Ozil shot.

Wes had a nightmare. Totally at fault for the goal- how does a bloody defender score a tap in from a corner. Wes was a nightmare all game.

Koncheskey was absolute garbage. Absolute garbage going forward and in possession. Just awful.

Before the game I honesty thought it was the most ridiculous line up yet from Pearson but we played very well second half.

Positives - Kramaric looked terrific. Good touch, took his goal well, worked hard. Be great to see what he can do with a strike partner up there to help him. Ludicrous he didn't play against Palace.

Cambiasso as he was Saturday,

was brilliant.

Huth looked good- I feel far more confident with him at the back.

Riyad Mahrez put in possibly his best performance in a Leicester shirt for me. Fantastic.

Simpson James Wasilewski Upson all did ok without pulling up any trees. Wasilewski's foul on the goalkeeper was hilarious.

The players and manager must keep wondering what more they need to do to win a game.

How did Upson perform tonight?

Miles off the pace as was Morgan

Apart from them and possibly the keeper it was an excellent performance and as usual I come away from a game thinking how did we not get something ?

And as usual it comes down to lack of quality in both boxes

Tactically I think the set up was spot on but as always you are relying on individuals to do their jobs properly and some of them didn't

One day some one is going to get a right pasting so just hope its Villa on Sunday

Glad to see the squad keep up the good fight, and to see everyone working hard for his teammates and manager.

Great effort by the boys away at the Emirates. Mahrez, Schlupp, Cambiasso, and Kramaric were dynamic and threatening all game long.

James really doesn't have confidence or skill on the ball this season-- I think it's time to see Knocky get a few runs out there, especially when the team has to claw for a goal. Tony's shown an enterprising spirit, effort (OK, a little over-enthusiasm at times), and a nice bit of skill during his limited playing time this season.

And, my god, the home crowd did nothing but bitch and moan for 90+ minutes.

This is absolutely gutting to watch. I have never known of a team who seems to do whatever necessary to lose narrowly so consistently.

We did so well tonight and once again leave empty handed.

I taped second half and watched when I got in from work. Already knew the score but we played really well. Slight tweaks (rest Wes) and that is our best team at the moment. I hope Upson isn't out too long, he and Huth looked calming and Was adds steel.

Overall I'm not sure if I like this teasing we are getting. So close every week and we still lose.

I think there are 7 really good chances at wins left. This will give us 35 points. Will that be enough?
