Mike Oxlong Posted 5 March 2015 Posted 5 March 2015 Very true the welland valley beer festival in August is fantastic jaunt around the villages , if your a real ale man it's a great day out And Corby house prices on the new estates are quite high !!! So are their occupants.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 5 March 2015 Posted 5 March 2015 Dogging in a lay-by on the side of the A46. The missus will see some good views, the end of your helmet and fly-tipped litter.
Vardinhio Posted 5 March 2015 Author Posted 5 March 2015 And you couldn't have said that about anyone else mentioning Brussels or Rome? Bath is shit, much preferred Bristol Harrogate's nice. Near to York as well Lived in Bristol for two years, is just another city really aside from the small Clifton area and the downs which is nice in the summer. Bath...I've never understood why people rave about it. Yes it has some nice old buildings but I find it diesn't have too much to offer if you're looking for a whole weekend away. Decided on York so thanks for advice everyone
MPH Posted 5 March 2015 Posted 5 March 2015 Reminds me of my first date i ever had with my wife. Made my stomach hurt real bad. Not from butterflies or anything like that but because of all the farts i had to hold in. Just go somewhere that has a toilet and you'll both be happy.

Webbo Posted 5 March 2015 Posted 5 March 2015 Stratford upon Avon It's a nice place but not for a weekend, it's only an hour away.
Voll Blau Posted 5 March 2015 Posted 5 March 2015 Very true the welland valley beer festival in August is fantastic jaunt around the villages , if your a real ale man it's a great day out And Corby house prices on the new estates are quite high !!! Been in the Shoulder in Bowden when the beer festival was on a couple of years ago, didn't realise how popular it is. Heard they cancelled the vintage buses that take you round the village because people were scrapping to get on them last year?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 March 2015 Posted 5 March 2015 Edinburgh is bloody noiiiiice. The Harrogate shout is a good one, too.
Voll Blau Posted 5 March 2015 Posted 5 March 2015 Leicester Bloke I used to work with in Blackpool actually did this, said it was a decent weekend to be fair. He's a massive Richard III buff granted, but said he thoroughly enjoyed it and we don't make enough of the history, heritage and attractions we actually have.
lestajigs Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 It's a nice place but not for a weekend, it's only an hour away. If that's the case, Brixham then near Torquay , lovely there, best fish and chip shop in the country to
BoyJones Posted 6 March 2015 Posted 6 March 2015 Another time, check out Oulton Hall, just south of Leeds. Lovely old building. If you are looking to impress the Missus, this is a good place. They do some decent deals, B & B plus evening meal, golf course, fitness centre etc. Easy to get to and Leeds might have a rubbish football team, but is a great night out. 90 minutes away.

There are a few nice hotels and restaurants and it's good for a wander round the shops etc. But it's not a buzzing nightlife, hence younger people probably not fancying it. Horses for courses I suppose. Depends on your age and what you are after in a town / City.
foxfanazer Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 St Ives My favourite place in England. The Minnack theatre is beautiful

Captain... Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 Brussels is shite, some nice buildings but the people are arseholes, Bruges is great but very touristy, Ghent is where it's at.
Brenfox Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 How was the weekend awayPO He won't be seen again. He went with a Mexican woman here on business. We all know how that ends.
