Yet I bet you missed loads of other stuff going on in the actual bushes whilst your face was glued to your phone!

If your meaning my dogs then no mate I didnt miss a thing. The thing about my dogs are that they hardly ever shit when I walk them. They prefer to shit in the back yard when I get back in. Weirdos.

What do ya do then? Set the phone upsidedown and put battery saver on?

Got a glut of 5k eggs begging me to buy incubators, also my first 10k egg gave me a lvl243 Onix, I named it Anal Bead

lol mate Iv just hatched a 230 odd Onix and I'l be damned if I'm not calling it Anal Beads, we are basically twins.

Just took the dogs out for a walk for about half an hour, seen shed loads of flying leaves about but not one Pokemon popped up. Not even a bastard Pidgey ffs.

I've had that happen once or twice but sometimes it's actually for the best - it doesn't seem to track distance walked during captures so if you have an uninterrupted walk then any eggs in your incubator/s will have gained the maximum possible mileage from the walk. I've had 30 minute walks where it's been constant Pidgey/Zubat captures and at the end of it I've apparently walked 0.5km where it should be more like 2-3km and I've nearly always got 8-9 eggs that I need to hatch

Set off a lure and lucky egg this morning and evolved 25 Pokemon and hatched 1 egg, half way into level 18 now. Wasn't until the Lucky egg ran out I realised I could have evolved Poliwag and another Pidgey (by transferring Pidgeotto), damn it

Great night last night.

Up to level 20, which gave me 2 incubators and a shed load of other goodies.

Caught a 560 Electrabuzz on Vicky park and hatched a 758 Ponyta.

3 eggs cooking at the minute, 4.2km, 4km & 2.2km completed so far.

Heres to hoping I get something new.

Same here. We talking iPhone/Android or what?

Hit level 10 today.

Are people levelling up just one Pokemon or are they having a selection which they are levelling up together? I've got 3 level 500s now, and a couple of stragglers at about 250/300. Can't decide if I want to keep the 500s going or to let the rest catch up. I haven't been to any gyms yet so I don't really know how that all works.

I would save your candies and stardust until you level up more. You will be finding wild Pokemon stronger than the ones you've been powering up pretty soon especially if you're not bothered about gyms. If you want to conquer gums you go in with your 6 best Pokemon, but you can take out low level gyms with a couple of really strong ones. Most round me are protected by Pokemon with CP in the 1000s

Pokemon yellow, red and blue are available for 8.99 each on game website. You get sent a download code in an email, available to play on 3ds and 2ds. Thought you'd like to know in case anyone wanted to play those classic games.

God damn I hope they do this for Gold, Silver and Crystal.

Starting to get very temped to spoof another country for a day or two, found a park in Japan full of Pikachus, Bulbasaurs and Eevees. Although at the KP we seem to get Dratini and Squirtle around the clock

Went for a walk after a meal, ended up in the park in Loughborough centre for a bit because there were so many lures. Caught a fair few magikarp and the like, nothing special, so go to leave and find out all the gates have been locked with us and a few other groups all stuck inside. lol Had to climb a fence in the end...

So many zubats, ratatas and pidgeys on the way back. Not a single gastly though, which is what I'm wanting because I really want a gengar... :/

Ghastly I thought was quite common - when I first started playing I came across them and Mankeys quite often in Birstall but it's non stop Spearow and Zubats the last few days. Even Pidgeys seem to be getting harder to find and they're my evolution bread and butter

Damn you all for luring me into this. I hope I will grow tired of this soon as it's time consuming, battery draining and super frustrating at times (loading issue with iPhone anyone?) I had a record 13 consecutive catches of two pokemons that escaped: 8 times a frickin zubat which ultimately ran away and 5 times a magnamite. Infuriating! I will run out of pokeballs soon though so the thing will die out eventually...

Go to somewhere with a few Pokestops in close proximity (towns, popular areas) you can restock loads of Pokeballs for free in minutes. Chances are people will be using lures (look for rose petals on the map) and learn the skills of throwing - holding the ball before throwing and waiting for the circle to shrink to smallest size is your best bet of catching

There are some Pokemon that are an absolute bastard to catch though - I've only ever seen 2 Squirtles and both have legged it when I've tried to capture them. Spearow are quite common and often just vanish when you try to capture them. Zubats are so distant I can't catch them with my thumb I have to swipe with my index finger and often dodge your throws.

Battery drain is a big problem, you can put battery saver on in the settings which dims the screen and stops rendering to save some resources - it'll still track your movements and vibrate when a Pokemon appears. Turning off AR during captures will turn off the camera too, saving a tiny bit of battery use

As an aside - I think I've stumbled on a glitch. When a Pokemon appears and you enter capture mode, I've been swiping my thumb immediately after the camera pans back and the circle appears. Doesn't seem to matter where you swipe if you time it right - it's usually a "Great" or "Nice" and I've caught a few 400CP+ using this method. Wouldn't recommend trying it on any new Pokemon you come across but try it on the next Pidgey etc you see...

Yup, using all the above tips. Was sitting in a park with 3 pokestops within range at the same time with about 50 other people. They had constant lures. I still used up far more balls than I gained as I caught maybe 1-2 pokemons a minute!

Also, the wife has a Sony, which seems far easier to throw balls compared to my iPhone 5. Had several excellent and great throws with her phone, and only a dozen or so in 500+ attempts on mine.

Will try your glitch when I get the chance, cheers!

The other thing with Battery Saver is if you turn your phone upside down the screen turns off.

I had an Xperia z, hit everything first throw casually with my thumb.

Just upgraded to a HTC 10, have to focus with sniper like precision to hit a drowzee. lol

Amazing the difference.

Caught a Jigglypuff & a Seel in the garden yesterday. Didn't even show up on the radar. Girlfriend caught a Snorlax as we were driving through thurmaston, also not on the radar. Why does the good stuff always randomly pop up

It doesn't quite - it dims the screen and stops 3D rendering, replacing it with a feint emblem. Trouble is buttons on the phone are still active (unless you are able to customise it on your particular phone) so it's still possible to accidentally do things. First time I pocket-called someone in years was because of the battery saving!
