cc_star Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Who would win between these two lineups of this season & last season? Now, obviously we were playing better last season in a defined formation with everyone generally performing their task exceptionally, so to make it a level playing field... if confidence (and everything that brings) was equal, ie. ignoring winning runs of last season & losing/indifferent run of this season who would win? Schmeichel RDL - Wasilewski - Morgan - Schlupp Mahrez - Drinkwater - James - Dyer Vardy - Nugent Vs this season's team (I don't know, it's hard to pick a typical team, because we've chopped & changed that often it's ridiculous, so I'll just go for he most recent lineup) Schwarzer Morgan - Huth - Upson RDL ----James - Cambiasso ----Schlupp Mahrez - Kramaric - Vardy Or if you disagree with the 343 in the most recent game use this season's lineup in the 442 we've played most frequently according to a Guardian article, or any other from this season, who would win between last season's 442 (4411 in occasional games, where Nuge's workrate was needed a little deeper) and this season's lineup IF confidence etc. was equal?
Donut Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 The second formation you posted was absolutely nothing like the one played on saturday. But personally a 4-4-1-1 would win for me.
Fox92 Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Be funny to see one team taking corners and the other team trying to defend them.
foxfanazer Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Lloyd vs RDL would be good to watch. Pace! I'd say the current team would win.
kingfox Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Well this will have to be played on Fifa, as it's impossible to have De Laet up against De Laet, Morgan up against Morgan etc...
David Guiza Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Well this will have to be played on Fifa, as it's impossible to have De Laet up against De Laet, Morgan up against Morgan etc... Yeah, that's the only thing preventing this game from actually going ahead. A lack of cloning facilities at Belvior Drive.
st albans fox Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 top of the table championship side against the bottom of the table PL one.my money would be on the championship side if there was anything at stake. if it were just a friendly, then the PL one.
Nalis Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Yeah, that's the only thing preventing this game from actually going ahead. A lack of cloning facilities at Belvior Drive.
Kitchandro Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Is last season's Nigel Pearson managing last season's Leicester?
Soar Fox Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Last seasons team for me. The way we attacked teams last season on the break with such pace was frightening.

lestajigs Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 It's all about that winning mentality, so last season without a doubt
emmo1987 Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 But last season we were playing against dross like Yeovil, this year they've been playing against Chelsea. Bit unfair. Probably best to say this years city side. How would they have got on in the championship last year?
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 last season based on players being better suited together. annoyingly we could have fielded that this season
Len Finsbury Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Last season on form obviously, but this season on ability.
Guest MattP Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Think it would depend on style of play. Both teams would be capable of beating each other. This season's team has shown they can match very good teams (Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool) when they come at us and it's an open game of football but have looked absolutely hopeless when an opposition has come to us and let the onus be on us to actually break them down (Hull, Sunderland, Palace, West Brom). I think if last season's team came and tried to attack this season's team (in the manner they played last year) then I think the PL side would win out (Probably 2-0 or 3-1), however if they sat in and used the pace of the wingers and Vardy on the counter attack against our PL side I think the Championship team might well win out by a goal. (1-0 naturally, a Nugent pen from Vardy being legged up by Morgan after Schulpp played him onside stepping out 5 yards too late).
Lovejoy Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Ask yourself would the 2nd team get 101 points in the championship. Then you have the answer. PS. Wouldn't you have Knocky over Dyer in the first side?

Guest Col city fan Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Last seasons team for me. The way we attacked teams last season on the break with such pace was frightening. This.. I've said all season I think Cambiasso slows us down too much. James and Drinkwater know each others game..they have that partnership thing going on. Same with Nugent and Vardy. We attack far too slowly this year.
Donut Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Don't live up to your username How did you not see that formation being played out in the game Because i didnt see De Laet and Schlupp playing as midfielders, i didnt see Mahrez playing as a forward, and i didnt see Kramaric playing through the middle. The touches map in the other post doesnt show 3-4-3 either. But i got a one day ban last time i had a difference of opinion so im probably better just being labelled wrong instead.
