Knockaert leaving in June - Signed for Standard Liège

Recommended Posts

Good luck Tony, obviously not quite good enough for the Prem, but hope all goes really well for you.

Some good memories, will watch your future career with plenty of interest.

Will never forget Huddersfield and Forest. Thank you.

Can the club make 20,000 Tony K masks for the QPR game?

One of my favourite Knockaert moments apart from his special goals was that video of him singing 'don't sell Knockaert' in the casino after promotion lol

Also he had a 2 min mad spell against Brighton were he did a trick every time he touched the ball and one of their defenders went ballistic

Good luck Tony.

This is a real shame. If Nigel didnt want him he wouldnt have offered a new contract. I dont know if he would be able to step up to the premiership or not, but we are not still up yet anyway.

A championship team without Knocky would be even more of a let down.

I can understand though, the lad wants to play football.

Wish fans who keep yapping about pace, look again at theses goals, and many others scored by others in the PL,

yes a team needs pace, knoccky isnt slow, he is still the only player in the squad, who has shown, he can take a ball when opposition are around him, and still beat them, then give a decent, in some cases a top pass.( exception cambiasso)

He is no slower than many top players in the PL. He aint the fastest either, I still reckon he could hold and develope, a cambiasso role, or another playing between or just behind the front men.

So why go and spend money for the same same type of player, unless we find a ready fit higher class player.

like many he wasnt yet the finished product, whos potential could be realised at the city.

Yes he is, I've seen quicker snails.

Errrm no he really isn't the only one, in fact it's debatable he's even capable of that himself.

No, just no.

He doesn't want to be here, look at his interview. We were a stepping stone.

I'd just wish Nige would give Knocky one final chance. Knockeart is a very hard worker and very talented.

This, just don't think he's been given the same chance as others to see if he can cut it in this league.

Don't like to lose young talented players, especially for nothing.

Didn't he he say they distorted everything? Hence the "people are very idiot" comment.

I'm not sure they distorted anything but reading it in French it didn't give quite the same connotations as the Google translated version did

i don't get why people are still so arsed about what he might have meant in an interview. have none of you watched him play for us for the last nearly 3 years? there's no way you can have seen him play and tell me he didn't give a shit about the club and just wanted to play quite well and leave as soon as an offer came in. bollocks to that.

Looking at your post, one could get the impression that it's all the manager's or club's fault that Knockaert is leaving this summer.

There are so many reasons why a contract isn't renewed: The manager feels the player doesn't fit the system or that the player has attitude issues, the player has been pondering a move away anyway, the club doesn't want to meet the player's demands for a new contract, etc.

Add in personal (familial) issues etc as well. If his dad's ill and he has family then there are other issues that could be a factor.

Wish him well. Decent player. Some great moments, goals and memories. But like a relationship that's run it's course we perhaps have other things to prioritise.

No matey. Its mainly from this forums fans, who carped on about his lack pace or ball distribution, the selection of his goals and ball distribution, yes many from the Championship, but he shown he could hold and distribute the ball, Babylon thinks different, but, right upto this late run, this was exactly our problem all season.Cambiasso the exception who also suffered from team mates lack of ball control.

Totally agree with your last paragraph, and maybe it will take time before the facts are really known, why he wasnt given more game time, whereas with many other players, Pearson shown patience, even when they had nightmare collection of games.

Its just strange to me, an ex fan and Pearson favourite, seem to have died a "football death of No confidence" so quickly.

Amongst all speculation, that pace was given as one of the reasons.

I havent been able to follow the squad's periphery ups or down and problems this season, like last so there maybe things that

just havent come over.

Disagree...I reckon this is the 1st time we have really clashed / crossed swords.

Unlike Drinkwater or James who both struggled, and have been shown patience, Knoccky for

me wasnt given enough game time or chance and I dont believe it had anything todo with...Pace ,

Drinkwater isnt the quickest...

His interview, wasnt that after he had not been selected a few times.

Hey he may have not cracked it..!!! I just thought he deserved more of a chance.

Schlupp was unloved and had some right mares right upto March,

but Pearson shown Patience, Mahrez seemed to be 1st name on the sheet, but not now, ...both have pace, but I never saw

knoccky has an out n out front man
