He said Barack Obama had enacted extreme vetting on immigration during his presidency ... a lie. He claimed that 70 percent of laws in the UK are made by the EU ... a lie. He said it costs £55 million a day to be a member of the EU ... a lie. He said our Supreme Court can be overruled by the ECJ on matters of national law ... a lie.
  4. I was directly in the line of sight with the strike from Vardy that night. So I was actually in a blind spot. For a few seconds I couldn't see what the mayhem was about. So from live experience I'm going with Nuge. (although I watched that one on stream).

I take back what I said about your jokes...

Funnily enough in this game of fantasy manager, this would be the team i'd play. I think it would actually suit us and get us playing better than what we currently are. I'm fairly sure we did it 2nd half against Madrid last season and it seemed to work ok. Slightly disappointed we didn't trial different formations in Pre-Season, i think we're so committed to 442/4411 is because we don't have enough confidence to try anything different, and we daren't expose that in a game situation.

leave.eu are still operating but their campaign now is focused on holding the government to account over Brexit negotiations. As a comparison though, take Dominic Cummings. As a Remain voter my opinion of him at the time of the referendum couldn't have been lower. But when he came out after and acknowledged that a lot of what he created for Vote Leave were inaccuracies and lies, I respected him a lot more for having the decency to actually acknowledge it, and this is something that Farridge will never ever do. Off track from this current debate, but if you haven't read it before, Cummings' blog in the Spectator is a really interesting read.
  8. Is Slimani of premier league quality

would have a goalie if I were you
  9. I agree, in the second half I saw a huge glimmer of hope with Iborra. On a couple of occasions he passed the ball to Morgan and then another player and asked for it straight back. It wasn't in a condescending way but more a calm down confidence giving way. He certainly isn't shy with the opposition either haha. Understandably through lack of game time and a new league etc he has got to adapt but I thought it was a very positive debut. He has the makings of becoming a bit of a cult hero I think. I do however see him in a midfield three being that calming yet agressive reliable influence.
  10. League Cup 2017/2018

Forest making basic errors. Poor keeping, and defenders not tracking their markers. This could end ugly.

Finners, thank you for this thread. I'm 100% behind your opinion. We need to get over it. Those that said we did in Great Escape, wasnt' that 541 or something mad? With the player we have, and more importantly, the way we play, we will either have the Wing Backs as Full Backs permantly or get over run down the flanks. Unfortunately, 352/532/343 or whatever are for footballing teams, who keep possession, not hoofers who give the ball back when they get it. They are not counter attacking formations either. Would need a massive tactical and personnel change IMHO. That's because we don't play 433 properly, we play 451. Totally agree AOTFYN. We could play it properly, but we don't. I think we have the personnel to do it, make the most of Vardy and Mahrez, and give us an extra body in midfield. A dynamic 3 across the top would be fantastic to see. I'm surprised Riyad isn't crying out for it. The more he plays well in that formation, the better the chances of his dream move to Barca!

  15. The joke thread

It's been reported that there's a bloke running around our village sticking a size 10 knitting needle up people's arses. The police reckon he's working to a pattern...
  16. Demarai Gray

I reckons run of games and he'd be less eager to make a name for himself in cameo spells like he's having to do now. Look at Stoke at home last season, he was very good. He managed to suss out when to shoot and when to pass/cross. He's definitely capable. Just give him a run of games and if he doesn't make his mark then fcuk him off.

What lies has he personally made?
  18. True.....Liverpool were the best team in the world at the time

If there has been a lie made against him, the BBC should apologise. In turn he should also apologise for the lies he has made. Being a politician does not excuse him from doing this, yet his obliviousness to it is the issue I have.

With all the complaints about 4-4-2, you'd think we were the only club that still employs it. I thought I'd do a little digging and see what are the premier leagues most popular formations. The only data I could find was 3 years old but interesting all the same. The most popular formation is 4-2-3-1 (220 times) and 4-4-2 (or 4-4-1-1) was easily the second most popular (176 times). 3-5-2 was nowhere (10 times). So in many cases we should be matching up like for like so why do we always get overrun in midfield? Perhaps, because two of the 4 are wingers rather than wide mids. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/mar/13/louis-van-gaal-united-tinker-table-premier-league
  21. Vards one, nothing could touch it. From Mahrez's 50 yards laser pass to Vardi's Terry Henryesque voley, absolutely flawless goal.
  22. Just watched the game after work commitments. How anyone thinks we weren't incredibly lucky to win that is beyond me. Yes their finishing was off but we were still giving away too many chances way too easily. Shinji transformed our style and actually finally brought some positive energy, and more importantly, some link up play to the side. His first contributions resulted in us performing some pass and move, something that I thought I'd never see again in a Leicester shirt (yeah, I'm exaggerating for effect). Gray was very positive, but please pass it more mate, you could go from potential to really good by adding that to your game. I think he's nearing a start though, adds something different, and I think Marc needs a little break as he's regressed to his round the corner, first time hoof. Iborra was a mixed bag, reminded me a lot of the Mendy performance at Millwall last season, lots of errant passes after getting in the right place. His intelligent positioning and the assist for Shinji gave me some hope. Dragovic was solid, if unspectacular. Can see him improving if he gets more game time. Not sure if there is another thread about this but I swear we are possibly the worst passers of the ball in the league at the moment. We really seem to be incapable of stringing more than two passes together which worries me a lot as it invites so much pressure. Yes, we played low possession when WON DA LEAGUE, but we also had periods of great football too and actually did something with the ball when we got it. Something needs to change on this, and an extra man in midfield is what's needed, especially with personnel we have available. I'm very happy we won, result was great, goals were good, overall performance just worries me. Play like that (either half, second half we were still pretty sloppy, Liverpool were just even more toothless) on Saturday against their first team (with our first team, styles are same even if players are not) and we might face a mauling. Let's hope the coaching staff can learn from this. Onwards and (hopefully) upwards.
